Anthropic has filed to go public, and for the first time we can see its finances. The company behind Claude reported $16.3 billion in revenue for the first half of 2026. That's more than 13 times what it made a year earlier. It also posted an $80.7 billion net loss, one of the biggest half-year losses ever. Anthropic plans to list on the Nasdaq under the ticker ANT, and recent reports say it is targeting a valuation of $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion. Fortune Senior Editor Beatrice Nolan, who wrote the story, breaks down what the filing shows about Anthropic's growth, how its seven cofounders keep control, its dependence on a handful of big customers and the Amazon, Google and Microsoft cloud marketplaces, and its own warnings about the risks of advanced AI. Also in this episode: The Big Number: Companies are using more AI than ever, but they aren't spending more on it, because the price keeps dropping. Ramp lead economist Ara Kharazian explains.
