Europe agrees to a COP30 outcome deal

The COP30 climate talks in Brazil are moving toward a deal as the two-week conference enters its final phase, although the latest draft does not include any reference to fossil fuels, a key demand of the EU and several other nations. Originally set to conclude on Friday, negotiations have spilled into overtime because of a deadlock over how to balance emissions-cutting commitments with the flow of climate finance from wealthier countries to developing nations.
