Malaysia First Impressions Vlog - Walking Around Kuala Lumpur (KLCC Park)

0:00
what up everybody first impressions of Malaysia I got in last night at about
0:06
3:00 a.m. and it is one of the swampiest hottest cities I've ever been to I'm
0:13
staying in bucket bentang area and I'm going to check out KLCC park right now
0:18
which has some good views of the petronis Tower so I'm going to show you my walk right now on the
0:25
way I'm going to try to get some Drone footage of the towers in the city as long as I have any issues taking
0:33
off but this is what koal limur looks like for anyone
0:40
wondering very different from Thailand much more Muslim much more
0:47
strict no weed here alcohol is abundant but it's
0:52
definitely frowned upon supposedly although that wasn't really the case last night where I saw people drinking
0:58
everywhere but uh yeah it's pretty cool it's way hotter than it was in Thailand
1:04
just like more moist and humid so we'll see how long I last out here I also need to
1:10
find a plug adapter cuz I forgot mine in America and luckily the ones
1:18
in in Thailand worked still but I need to get one today so my phone doesn't die
1:24
and stuff
1:30
for now let's get to the towers we can get that stuff
1:51
later they have a lot of 7-Elevens here but they also have this supermark called KK which is like a clone it's pretty
1:59
funny some of them are right next to each other
2:49
spech speech spee
3:24
now
3:57
excuse me
4:19
what
4:53
all right we're making our way to the park
5:03
the food is different here too so I'm curious to try it definitely has a lot more Muslim and Indian
5:11
influence hoping I'll have better luck on the gluten front but we'll see
5:38
check it out there's an ambo land
6:11
I'm getting excited to see these buildings koal andur is also home to the second largest or tallest building in
6:18
the world I don't know where it is but I'm going to film that soon too probably
6:25
tomorrow
6:42
current weather for anyone wondering you see me sweating or
6:47
glistening as Matt likes to say don't blame me it's just the lay of the land
6:52
here
7:24
interesting flight
8:04
there's another 7-Eleven you can't walk about 10 ft
8:09
without finding a 7-Eleven in Asia it's pretty
8:15
funny wow this is another Metropolis City kind of reminds me of Bangkok a
8:21
little more spread out but full of mesmerizing and just tall
8:28
skyscrapers everywhere you look
9:05
I'm already drenched guys I can't even help it out here shit's too
9:14
fun oh wow look at those buildings very
9:20
cool think I'm going to cross this way and then left
10:20
got the grabs
10:27
everywhere delivering food in
10:44
stuff those buildings are astonishing back
10:49
there they got the bank of Islam too very different from
10:57
Thailand it's interesting to see that differences I just got here and I was
11:02
only in Bangkok which is like a comparable enough City for 3 days so I
11:07
don't have as much knowledge but this is really
11:14
cool very intriguing City
11:33
I think I got to turn left up here we're only 10 minutes away from the park
11:55
now daddy Cinema
12:00
that's too good looks like we got a little Mall here might have to check this out later they love the malls in
12:08
Asia too there's daddy
12:18
Cinema all right I got a cross here this could get ugly
12:43
whoa that's a sick car McLaren you don't see those every
12:56
day there's a lot of different cars I mean I know McLaren is more of a sports car but in terms of the automotive
13:03
brands in both Thailand and Malaysia it's way different it's pretty cool to
13:09
see very few American cars out here although I did see some Ford F-150s and
13:15
Ford dealerships in in puket and shangai
13:23
Thailand I don't know when I'm going to cross this is Mayhem
13:31
I don't know if I'm going to have a chance I'm might to have to run it might have to full send oh
13:40
Lord every time I think I can cross a bus pulls up
14:07
this is literally impossible
14:32
holy all right I'm just going to walk down the street cuz this is
14:37
ridiculous hopefully we'll find some way to cross up
14:46
here honking out buddy they honk more here got to love
14:54
it at least they're polite in Thailand you don't get the same treatment in Malaysia that's for damn sure
15:34
see if we can get a break in The Road to Cross now no
15:46
way I'm going to have to get some lunch a little cafe soon I think I'm ready for
15:51
some refreshments
16:03
I swear there's no crosswalks here maybe I have to go
16:12
above I think I got to go up these
16:26
steps the question is how do I get up there no smoking
17:00
excuse me how do I cross the street how do I go above is there a is there a way up to
17:08
go one more up one more up okay thank you wow another nice Mall get a little
17:16
air conditioning while I walk around so that's
17:23
nice you guys can check out some of the stores they got here couple familiar
17:28
ones
17:49
this is like an eight-story Mall
18:03
asop all right let's find this walkway and let's see what's on the other
18:22
side the gem W those are nice across
18:31
IC where is this walkway Lord have mercy on me oh they
18:37
got a Fred
18:43
[Music]
18:49
Perry okay the connection point is right here praise
19:05
the currency here is the Malaysian ring it it's like four uh four ring it to each
19:12
dollar so not bad I don't know if it's cheaper
19:18
I think it's a little more expensive than Thailand was cuz it's a major city but I'll find out after a couple more
19:24
meals
19:32
the problem with Thailand was it might have been cheaper but instead of getting one Entre I would just get three and so
19:38
I kind of defeated the purpose but hey I'mma eat
19:44
regardless look at the view or above where I just was see what we can
19:53
find I think I'm going to stay up on this level uh doesn't go for I'm going
19:59
to walk down we need to get to that Park so we can see the towers and get the Drone in the air
20:07
and then I need to go shopping so I can get a converter and swap out some
20:21
currency all right
20:50
getting
20:56
closer it's kind of fun vlogging I think I'm going to just start doing this more and just talk to myself while I'm
21:02
walking around see how many people I can get to just look at me and stuff it's honestly
21:08
hilarious I look like a total worm holding this 360 camera all the time I love
21:13
it I love it wouldn't have it any other way unfortunately I got to clear this
21:21
micro SD it's only 29 minutes left of footage for today unacceptable once I get to the park I'm
21:28
going to do the Drone footy chill out and then I'll probably get lunch after
21:34
handle all the chores and stuff and then go back to the crib so I can charge up
21:39
do some computer work and offload all this footage so I can film more the goal while I'm in Asia is to
21:46
film as much as humanly possible like every minute that I'm
21:52
existing why not
22:00
especially when you're in a different city it's always
22:09
exciting there's a lot of investment banks finance assets a lot of money in
22:15
koal lur and Malaysia from what I can tell look at this you got Chinese money
22:23
Qatar money South Africa Namibia and more very
22:41
intriguing we're getting closer looks like we're at about 7 or 8
22:47
minutes left we should see the park soon once we get around a couple more
22:53
corners I'm really excited about the Drone hopefully it's not a restricted Zone cuz I don't know if I'll be able to
22:59
set up my hot spot we shall
23:09
see I don't think we're near the airport which is good their Airport's kind of
23:14
like an uh 45 minute drive south of here so we should be good for the flight
23:20
restrictions but you just never know
23:37
wow that is a lush building plants growing everywhere I love
23:49
that all right let
23:56
see I think I got to go straight
24:02
here I'm about to
24:08
MOG Crossing is so difficult here
24:31
on
25:12
we got 25 minutes left of footage so we got to make it count and another
25:19
7-Eleven blessed
25:33
the question is how do I get through here it shows it like there's a way to
25:39
walk through but I have no
25:45
clue uh might be over
25:53
here oh I found it another one of these connections
26:00
let's see oh hell yeah some air conditioning
26:06
flowing out
26:15
here food Fort oh yeah we're near the twin the
26:20
petronis twin towers which is what I'm going to film I don't know if this is the
26:26
way
26:39
how do I get through
26:47
here I think I found it I don't know though
27:06
oh yeah here we go here we
27:19
go going down some backside alley I don't know where in the same hell I am
27:30
we good e though it should work out perfectly
27:42
fine The Forbidden turn oh hell no
27:52
who man why do they put this on maps if you can't actually go through
27:58
through it I'm just going to keep walking around until I find my way through probably
28:04
going to get bullied by security soon but it is what it
28:11
is I'm going to just show them the map maybe he'll know a route
28:19
through might have to go under actually through the building let's
28:25
see see if the guy's still here thought I saw
28:32
him the he just
28:37
disappeared oh there he is let's
28:46
see see if he understands excuse me do you know how to
28:53
get to the park yeah do I have to go through the building to get
29:00
there okay thank you hi do I have to go through the
29:06
building to get to that Park Park yeah do I go through just down
29:12
you have to go inside yeah go down
29:18
okay thank you so much have a great day guys there we go hey more air
29:25
conditioning is not a bad thing I just had to walk in circles to figure that out probably could have done it by
29:31
just looking at the sign but I don't have the foresight for that all the time
29:39
I like to rush places directions who reads
29:48
those oh they got an aquarium very
30:00
Starbucks got that
30:11
everywhere now where is the
30:20
other it's interesting seeing the food cords here they're similar but different
30:31
Fried Chicken you can find you can find Fried Chicken anywhere in the world
30:36
guarantee it oh Crispy
30:44
Cream I would grew up wow fuel Shack they took Shake Shack's
30:50
bag that's motion I love to see it hello hello
30:59
all right I think I go up here but yeah we made
31:06
it we arrived at a waterfall just take it in for a
31:16
sec Kenny Rogers Roasters there was one of those in uh puket too I don't know
31:22
they must have licensed there or something w
31:28
the
31:34
towers wow those towers are
31:43
magic thank you wow we made it to the
31:49
park and we're at the koal lur Convention Center wow those towers are
31:54
magical I really hope I can get the Drone up let's go to
32:00
work I'm going to go somewhere chill in the middle of the park vibrate a
32:06
little get this thing up in the
32:11
air I got to do more selfie shots too right you can see where I'm
32:20
at look at look power of that there nutty
32:39
just got to find somewhere a little chill then I should be able to take
32:51
off this is such a nice park in the middle of the city it's beautiful
33:01
supposedly it rains a lot here just like spur the moment randomly so I got to be careful about
33:06
that with the Drone I don't know if you guys could see on this camera but there's some dudes
33:13
off the side of that building hanging and cleaning it that's
33:20
crazy all right this is a clear shot zoom in if you can look at that would
33:26
you do that job or no
33:31
all right we're getting to better Parts better height
33:38
holy let's get it done wow they got a water fountain here
33:45
should we try
33:53
it beautiful
34:02
let's see I think I'm going to go up here little height
34:12
area you got to earn it I'm definitely earning it out here
34:18
the heat will get to you oh wow look at all
34:24
this Fountains of Galore looks like you can go in the water too that's pretty
34:33
sick oh my this city is really
34:38
unique it's not as dense like buildings all next to each other but then you get
34:44
these massive skyscrapers just hanging out sky Towers connections wow I'm blown
34:51
away all right I think I'm going to take off right here it seems safe seems quiet I'm going to pause for
34:59
now and then once I get the Drone set up and hopefully there's no issues getting it to take off I'll restart or maybe
35:06
I'll just show you that process Landing whatever look how drenched I am already Lord have
35:13
mercy good news guys holy I'm drenched good news guys the uh drone
35:19
takeoff is permitted check this out there's no I don't know if you can see on this with the reflection but there's
35:25
no flight restrictions the satellites are connecting we about to take off I'm
35:31
going to see if I can prop this up and then you'll be able to see
35:39
it yeah that should show it all right let's get in the
35:47
air home Point updated I'm so stoked to share that we
35:54
just had a successful flight around Co and poor I couldn't go super far because
36:01
of the transmission thing which basically it's just like there's some transmission issue when you're in cities
36:08
and stuff and there's buildings blocking the Drone from the remote controller but
36:13
regardless we got some footage it did disconnect at one point which was scary as hell but then it reconnected and it
36:20
like cuz it was returning to home which means it just flies back to where you took off from
36:25
luckily it didn't actually crash into a building on the way cuz that would have been horrifying but we got the drum back
36:32
kept flying around got some footage now I'm going to find food because I'm hungry and I just need to
36:38
refuel and then we'll handle some of the chores but this will probably wrap up my first
36:44
imp Impressions Vlog from koal and porn uh Malaysia but I'm definitely going to
36:50
do a lot more vlogging this trip I just feel like it's kind of fun and it's a good way to show off the city explain it
36:57
whatever but I'm going to take you on the walk to Nando right now I think I'm going to go with a classic chicken spot for lunch
37:04
unless there's something else in the in the towers that's cool and
37:10
then after lunch onto the chores but let me take you the rest of
37:15
the way we're in the KCC park right now it's pretty nice there's a lot of like
37:21
water pools and stuff over there which I'll probably check out after lunch I just had to get the Drone
37:26
footage going I was itching to do it ever since I got in last night and I was curious how it would go I think now I
37:35
want to get footage more outside so I can just get the skyline from a distance but it's hard to say the one issue is
37:43
you can only legally fly 90 to 120 M and most of these buildings are much much
37:50
taller so it's kind of a poor angle to film them but you got to work with what
37:56
you got just look at these buildings pretty nuts
38:02
for perspective I can barely go over that Sky Tower with the Drone before it
38:08
gets to the max altitude there's that much building on top imagine filming that from above like
38:15
truly above it would be surreal
38:28
maybe they'll have some stores in here and I can handle some business while I'm here
38:34
cuz I need to get that power adapter my phone's only at like 10 or 20% right now
38:39
so uh it's not ideal and also I need to exchange
38:46
currency I don't want to get too much Malaysian ring it though cuz I'm only here for like four more days or three
38:51
more days so I'm probably just going to get like I don't know 50 bucks if they're
38:59
able to we'll
39:21
see these buildings are surreal and this is like a mall inside
39:26
of it Seria
39:34
KLCC it is a hot one it's a little over like stormy
39:40
looking I think the humidity just causes like storms here or something I don't
39:48
know let's get inside though good
39:55
Lord let's get a picture of this to
40:35
I got 11 minutes left so I'm just going to film as much as I can until the the micro SD fills up and then when I get
40:44
back I can offload everything to the hard drives
41:14
this mall is
41:25
crazy look at these p
41:37
why
41:46
so the malls in Asia are Next Level oh my
41:52
gosh khabib love that what is that 1 2 3 4 5 6
42:02
levels good Lord is that Miley Cyrus and a Gucci
42:09
ad you want to see what campaigns look like in
42:17
Asia all right let's go find the food court
42:38
let's see if I can find it this mall is massive oh my
42:48
gosh so they got a 50 Cent toilet here all the threee toilets are upstairs or
42:54
downstairs pretty intriguing where is the
43:24
food Lulu money wow that's
43:33
busy
43:42
guc it's all designer over here wow
44:17
think I'm almost in
44:23
nandos even though I've had nand before I've been getting sick at ton lately unfortunately out here off gluten so I'm
44:31
going to just try to find this spot even cuz it's familiar safe and I can get a little more
44:39
adventurous for the next meal or two but I got to heal my body a little
44:55
bit yeah
45:16
Nando is Level C I'm level G I guess I got to go
45:24
up see
45:31
or is C below C might be
45:37
below I'm just going to go up and check it out
46:17
okay I guess I got to go down after all
46:33
one
47:01
M wow there's some more food and stuff here see what we can find I need a drink
47:09
bad I'm so
47:23
thirsty we made it to nand let's go juice
47:32
Works should I get a little juice work
47:38
first all right I think I'm going to do ooh so many options
48:14
we made it to nandos all right I'm going to go eat I'll catch you guys
48:19
later all right it's getting super cloudy
48:24
out I just feasted on some nandos now I'm going to make the walk back to the
48:30
hotel I got to grab a plug adapter some ring it and I got to do some
48:39
work this Vlog is going to get posted today cuz I'm having too much fun out here in koal
48:46
lour thanks everyone for watching episode one in Malaysia I'm going to do a couple more while I'm out here and
48:52
then we got another country in Southeast Asia coming up next catch you soon all I'm getting more footage because I can
48:58
and there's 4 minutes left on this so I figured I'd just record my walk home in case something else intriguing shows
49:06
up it's so Lush here humid as a
49:15
7-Eleven did not have the power adapter so we're going to go
49:21
towards bucket bentang hopefully there's some other shops there I need one of those and then I can
49:30
get to work I can't wait to spin again the
49:38
bikes are calling three or four more days and I'll
49:44
be renting another one at the next destination so get ready for that I also
49:50
got a video with this 360 camera when I was biking up and down the mountains in shangai so hopefully I'll have some time
49:58
to edit that one today too there's too much footage to edit too
50:04
little
50:16
time I'm a little tired I might have to get a little afternoon nap in as well I didn't get in until like 3: last night
50:24
so my sleep was a bit of
50:32
infected Paramount that's an interesting
50:45
building I should have walked in that walkway would have been air conditioned for the whole
50:51
way but I figured it'd be a little more adventurous being outside see what it was out see what El is out
51:00
here but yeah there's definitely a lot more horn in koal lur in Malaysia I think
51:08
generally speaking the politeness is a very specific trait of Thailand and
51:14
they're more quiet there they're more chill here I mean dude's just holding
51:20
his horn it sounds just like Boston or New York um but let's see the other
51:26
difference is I got a couple more days here hopefully I can see some
51:34
Trends I've also met a couple more nice people during lunch and in the mall and
51:40
stuff so there's a balance like any City
52:15
got the filter grid sticker up in Malaysia hopefully we'll get more I got one up in Thailand
52:22
too literally just one though
52:29
didn't find a lot of good spots there and I didn't really know the rules and
52:39
such they got a tower here too I think I got to try that building
52:45
out if I can get in there it's probably hard to see from this angle cuz it's Overexposed
53:11
check out the walking symbol here he have
