#mainecoon #mainecoons #proscons The popular breed of domestic cat, the Maine Coon, was registered in the early 19th century in the USA. It originates in the state of Maine in North America. Its representatives are the largest of those who are usually referred to as domestic. Outwardly, these are small lynxes of various colors. The breed has alternative names: North American semi-longhair or American raccoon cat. The main feature of this breed is its impressive size. Maine Coons are among the oldest and largest cats in North America, which appeared not as a result of selection, but directly in a natural way, i.e. independently, without human intervention. They have a powerful skeleton, a wide, deep chest, and well-developed muscles. The bones of the facial part of the skull have a slightly elongated shape, which is why Maine Coons have such a formidable expression of the muzzle. The body is rectangular, continuing with a long fluffy tail, so they look "long", sometimes reaching 1 meter (including the length of the tail). Even the Guinness Book of Records has a mention of the "longest cat" - a purebred North American semi-longhair cat named Stevie. The weight of adult cats varies from 6.8 kg to 11 kg, and cats from 4.5 kg to 6.8 kg. Such dimensions, together with a heavy skeleton, form a formidable appearance: the paws are large, and heavy, with large visible claws and strands of hair between the fingertips, large eyes with a heavy look, “lynx” tassels on the tops of the ears. On the face - a complete lack of expression of friendliness and playfulness. It seems that we have a really serious dangerous predator. But how deceptive appearances are! In fact, Maine Coons are sweet, kind, and even vulnerable. They are very susceptible to stress factors, they do not tolerate them well. In the depths of their souls, until the end of their days, they do not cease to be little kittens. _____________________ Please, subscribe to Pet Lovers: @petreader _____________________ More great articles at https://buzzsharer.com/
