But even beyond this rank, it has established itself as a faithful friend and loyal companion of every family member. The Boston Terrier knows how to behave with dignity, showing good manners, and therefore earned the nickname "American Gentleman." In order for the modern standard of the Boston Terrier breed to appear, English breeders were involved in the selection - White Terrier and Bulldog, Bull Terrier and Boxer, as well as some other breeds. But it was in Boston that the Boston Terrier was bred, and although everything happened in the far 19th century, fortunately, documents have survived which confirm how everything developed. Even the nickname of the first representative of the Boston dynasty is known - Hector. In 1890 a club of fans of this breed was organized in the city, and it was its members who developed the standard for the dog. And already in 1893 the breed was officially recognized, and even at the famous dog show, which was lavishly held in 1896, distinguished Boston beauty, nicknamed Topsy.
