A proper Mastiff will be a combination of a good-natured courageous yet docile dog.
A well-socialized Mastiff will be polite with his humans and aloof with strangers. The dog will place itself between you and anything or anyone that appears threatening.
If the threat were to continue, the breed would escalate it’s response as needed.
Mastiffs overall do not like conflict between family members and have been known to step between a parent correcting a child or two arguing spouses.
