Some great 40K models! Finally! And the Future of 3D printing

0:00
hello I'm Jeff and my nist o usually it's me going
0:07
European yeah we'll talk about it yeah drinking peppermint tea hello drinking
0:13
peppermint tea how you doing oh how's everyone been mad week good yeah you've been away in Germany haven't you yeah
0:20
dut land is good at the sharp end of uh at the sharp end of technological advances it it was I it wasn't what I
0:28
expected but we'll get to that that's a that's a small topic for the show what does a 3D printer convention look like
0:35
it's different I can imagine very little 3D printing unless it's
0:40
fdm well guys right it's it's so Str we'll get to it let's te let's tease it
0:46
up here there's so much to talk about it's it's not hobby it is like the applications for these machines go above
0:54
and beyond anything probably not that I've imagined cuz I imagined all of this as possible
1:00
when I imagine it I imagine the replicators from Star Trek at some point one day but until then like seeing these
1:07
like there were 3D printers that were rooms not the size of a room they were a room they were a room yeah color me
1:15
intrigued yeah so um but that's the thing so yeah we can talk about talk about the future of 3D printing what
1:21
else have we got for this jam-packed show Friday was a bit of a day wasn't it it was a bit of a day we had some 40K
1:28
reveals yeah yeah we did and also strap yourself in for this 40K reveals that
1:36
didn't seem to set the internet on fire with hatred yes yeah yeah well reveals people liked
1:43
there were some positively received 40K reveals I've got to say like just for
1:49
when I came in this morning and I said to you guys what what's the topic this week what we talking about and you went the reveals I went what reveals you went
1:55
you know the ones on Friday that you were texting talking about Jesus
2:02
Christ I forgot that over an hour we were having to Whatsapp about them all three of us in the pain phase messaging
2:09
each other and we actually cared for once so but yeah that's how that's how busy my week's been I'd forgotten a chat
2:16
we had for what an hour and a half three days ago yeah and and not one of us uh
2:23
at the cre reveals went but where are the nipples no no yeah we we're quite
2:28
happy for it to be nipple for weren't we is that just a running commentary on what we've said in previous ones pretty
2:33
much we weren't expecting C nipples were we no not it would have looked weird if they' B them big heavy jackets with
2:40
holes cut out in them wouldn't they it just looked a bit off a bit jar maybe I'm a bit gutted because remember like I
2:46
had a business idea where I would uh render and sell more Hammer scale nipples so the fewer models that come
2:53
with nipples that don't need nipples that's that's going to destroy my potential business future it is true
3:00
from nipples to Warhammer waram and then my copy of kill team finally
3:05
arrived and I've been doing lots of building I built my Fallout factions and have some thoughts on on both of those
3:11
so but should we start with the ravos shall we start with the ravos so yes so we got death cor cre which nobody was
3:19
shocked by in the sisw worthy it's been pretty much an open secret for a while death corre well it see say Open Secret
3:26
Games Workshop said on that massively in depth Road map that they did a little while ago said that death cor cre were
3:33
on the way people started filling in the blanks of going well they probably what units can they put in that are unique to
3:40
them or if not unique quite on have a a death cor cre particular
3:46
style and what units are left over from the Old Creek sort of um Forge World
3:53
Army books that that they can put in and will they put them all in a little box like they did with the cadians
4:00
last year yes they're well Keen with their stter sets aren't they yeah and it's what they did isn't it I have a
4:06
question so all of this is I'm not going to use the new word all of this is basically an Imperial Guard army yes
4:12
astr militarum for anyone who's modern um so this is Imperial so these and the
4:18
cadians do they like follow the hierarchy of the Imperial God but like now we've got a commander and a and a
4:25
this regiment and a that type regiment yeah the loely yeah C have always just
4:31
got have got their own since when they were first sort of made in Forge World yeah they've always to make them a
4:38
different collectible thing have always had unique units to them like which would has been re-released for these as
4:44
combat engineers and they went we're going to give you a mounted troop yes
4:50
atalan Rough Riders already existed for um for Imperial guards who are the ones
4:56
that they brought back with the relaunch of Imperial Guard not long ago guys who look AIT look a little bit like
5:01
Mongolian yeah Riders they've got bigger hats on and some and they're wearing a bit more fair and things like that but
5:08
they'd always done they were always done on a standard horse in fact if I may even remember with the original atand
5:14
Raiders the horse might have even just been I'm not sure might have just been one of the standard horses just from
5:20
what was from war hammer fantasy with the different with a metal Rider but um Forge World had always done this quite
5:26
weird looking horse that was unique to the death core of and obviously we've got that back again so it's so they will
5:32
have some differences as to how they operate compared to to playing um
5:39
playing cadens so you know but I suppose I'm asking like you've kind of got you've you've got your armies and then
5:45
you've got your factions haven't you so like chaos Space Marines is a thing but
5:50
then you've got like your flavor of death guard and thousands and blah blah yeah exactly right it's like yeah it's
5:57
like black Templar Space Wolves blood Angels they are they you know they they follow the same thing so this this is
6:04
guard or or astrom militarum but you've got your cadians you've got your C is C have we had new C we haven't
6:12
had new cat Chan in years have we they're the jungle guys aren't they I think they I still hold out hope that
6:17
they cuz they don't need a lot of stuff yeah but they do need that standard 10 man squad desperately refresh and I
6:24
think they'll probably get that in um I think they'll get that in Kill te for te te just want I want them all to look
6:30
like characters from predator and I guarantee if they don't someone will release well they've done one already
6:35
that looks like a character from Predator the limited edition Kel yes who looks like K weathers weather May rest
6:43
in peace yeah May rest in peace indeed bless him yeah has he passed away sorry Ross oh Ross yeah sorry Ross when was
6:49
this about a year ago yeah a little while ago now yeah yeah yeah yeah oh no yeah yeah he passed yeah he's he was the
6:56
best apoll Creed there ever was I well I know the other sad thing is is that you know I really liked him in the Mandalorian yes so he won't turn up
7:03
again in that in he's won't be so how did I miss this he won't be in the Mandalorian movie no so they're making a
7:10
movie oh yeah should put should we put all we're
7:16
just going to pause for a minute whilst these guys Ross just
7:21
comprehends the L this is this is a lot like this is a lot to take in in a very short amount of time he died um on the
7:29
second of February of this year that was my birthday month yeah you have a birthday consideration you a whole that
7:36
was the month of my birthday it's like the queen um yeah so yeah so yeah he
7:42
passed away on the 2nd of February yeah sorry not the only one there will be people watching oh
7:48
will yeah yeah he was in Happy Gilmore happy and that's a real shame cuz
7:54
they're now making another happy Gil M obvious W be they are I love him he was so good like he is responsible for so
8:00
much joy in my formative years he is responsible for
8:06
unquestionably the most masculine n the best handshake in movie
8:13
history yeah yeah just like B just literally oh so good called Dylan yeah
8:20
still got you pushing pencils [Laughter]
8:27
Dylan oh yes but there is a yeah there was a car weathers limited edition cat
8:32
Chan kenel yeah yeah oh and it was funny cuz everyone always thinks of was that one as well but if you if you own it and
8:39
if you're luy enough to own it came with a um Caucasian head right as well that
8:44
was really really cool it did um as um with a a goatey and a really really cool
8:51
mohawk as well so yeah but you most people paint him as and rightfully so and you should honor the man did it
8:58
actually have a different head with different features on it so you could paint him a different race there cuz that's something I've noticed they've
9:03
not done well like there was a years ago and Warhammer world had it in there I bet it was like an exclusive for like
9:09
the stores on birthdays there was a night quest store or something um or or
9:15
one of them one of the stormcast ones and they I can't remember which way around it was but you look at the features and you're like that's not the
9:22
race you've painted in well funny enough we had this discussion when I came in there earlier I've been I painted which
9:27
I sent you photographs I painted a um a Space Marine scout sniper and I was
9:35
painting him and as I started to then start layering up the face with every sub with every feather highlight of
9:42
Caucasian skin that I put on it started to become blatantly aware that it was a black eyes face and it's just not
9:48
looking and I was like as I was painting it I just put when I put the first layer on I didn't really spot it and then as
9:53
it started to just get highlights and as I started to highlight the nose in and the shape of the cheekbones
10:00
I was like this isn't a white dude doesn't feel right does it no no and and I had to stop and I thought and I
10:06
thought if I might end up using these Scouts on on kill team on the channel further down the line and I thought a it
10:12
didn't look right when with pink skin and also thought I don't want to be accused of being a horrendous racist
10:18
that's just painting every black guy as a white guy you know so I had to stop and then go back in and repaint his face
10:24
to to to make him look the skin that was appropriate to the features thing to
10:29
approach and it's definitely a hard like I it's one of those questions that I don't want to really ask in public but hey I'm on the internet the one I've
10:36
always don't like I've always lik um you've seen my samurai Space Marines yeah and I wanted to paint the right
10:43
skin tones for Eastern Asian skin it's a very it's when you look at people who
10:50
are Southeast Asian in real life skin tone but then look at trying to paint it
10:56
it's so minuscule different to try and that look I wouldn't yeah no so I didn't and I was like I'm just they've all got
11:03
helmets now the the question I've got like this it's a sensible question for
11:08
the community if you're looking for that particular or that region skin tone of
11:13
or a variety of yeah what the hell do you search in Google cuz nothing nothing I could think could came up comfortable
11:20
and I was like you know what I'm just not going to bother so I started searching for what are the closest ones in GW the uh they ride bikes oh the the
11:30
white that's the closest I could come so I started following those guys and there were some useful ones which was quite
11:35
good something I want to do you know what and I really like the fact that GW are getting so good at sculpted now that
11:42
you can start painting a face and go I'm painting this face the wrong race cuz the sculpting is that good y um I
11:48
spotted it thankfully I was doing I think he's black Templar sword Brethren yeah
11:55
there is a black guy facing there that as soon as you looked at it on the spruce you like I can't paint that wrong
12:00
CU I can completely tell it's been so well sculpted but speaking of sculpts that do look like different races don't
12:06
we have an Eldar in here that looks like a gunam Gundam oh I'll get to it that's just that's just a slight dig I
12:12
genuinely like it but I'll point it out when we get to it so so the reveals yes
12:18
so the RS yeah not like us to go off on one is it um but um generally I think
12:23
the C look really nice I think they could have done with for me which is one of my sorts of grumbles is I thought
12:30
they could have done with um being painted a bit more Grim dark I think the
12:37
the the gas masks look a little bit light I think they could have done with looking a little bit more okay I get you
12:43
well instead of the blue tones maybe some more Browns Browns and Grays gone a bit more grayer and i' have brought that
12:49
I'd have brought that um I'd have brought that gas mask down some more like a like a a leathery a darker
12:56
leathery Brown sort of color than that but I see what you mean they're a bit baby blue and not so WEA but generally
13:04
other than that I thought everything in there was really really nice um favorite model uh favorite model that isn't the
13:12
massive everyone loves the little robot thing don't they yeah I was going to say um canons the massive cannon that's is
13:19
really cool I do like the massive Cannon because I like the fact I like it when you see crew Mill and about you and
13:24
stuff yeah yeah like that like a diarama model like a model that's also a diarama I love I like that it's why you know
13:30
it's one of the reasons why I like that new uh that new ratland um cuz it's got something go it's got
13:37
blatantly you can almost hear a conversation happening in it you know it's why I like the um the Assassin you
13:43
know the one that was the it was a couple I think it was a uh Warhammer plus exclusive the one that's firing from the head of the battle Yeah Yeah so
13:50
and I've seen somebody who's modeled that like basically they must have scanned it or something or just been
13:56
really good with a tape measure but built out rest that's very cool so at least the I
14:03
do like them um couple of little things I thought that the the servator writing
14:09
there written down it looks a bit like they're writing on pastry are we talking about the bog roll servor the bog roll servitors yeah it's it's not pastry it's
14:17
just like triple velvet like really really really luxurious
14:24
toilet paper it's so thick it is yeah it's something that does look
14:29
comfortable to use it does doesn't it it does look comfortable and I'm saying bog roll servitor with the with you know the
14:35
nicest of meanings I don't dislike the model I love it it I think it's a little
14:41
bit cheeky and I like a little bit of cheeky in my Warhammer they haven't done enough of it um it's going to be it's a
14:48
great little model but there is not not days before I'd noticed there's a 3D STL
14:54
where someone's done a half servy to schore and I've shared it with you guys and I put it I put it out as a post as a little dig yeah um cuz I thought you
15:01
know what I've got to have a jack it was a great show it was great yeah um and
15:06
and thing it it and I was like uh the caption was like GW we hate it when people copy our ideas um and then
15:14
they've got that server to Bug roll head and then also GW the bog roll server that they released and it was just a
15:19
little dig but the same guy done a like what looks like a not corn but very obviously corn head as well that goes
15:26
over it and I I want to 3D print that just so I've got it my bathroom the it always it reminds me a
15:32
little bit of there was a piece of a from um from Imperial Guard code actually many many moons ago I think he
15:39
was meant to be a tallaran desert Raider commander and it just shows you how you
15:45
know you know human beings literally are just like you know the get the worst of
15:50
jobs at times in in the Imperium and he's like talking and there is literally
15:56
like a servor typing out everything he said saying and it's coming out on paper
16:01
and as it's coming out on paper it's literally just got a Guardsman who seems to have no other purpose than to just push it backwards over the top of his
16:07
own head imagine that being your only job in life just moving a piece of paper along
16:14
it's a lovely piece of art if anyone knows it but um yeah it's really cool it's very very Gothic is it a servitor
16:20
or is it a Servo skull they Servo skull right sorry the so bog roll Servo skull
16:26
I've been there'll be people watching this going it's not a servor has got arms leg Yeah in the law is a Servo SC
16:33
like is it living is that like a living beings floating skull or is it a littleit yeah they they they've been a
16:38
person skull right okay but then is it like so so do they go through so much ad
16:45
mechanism this that they just end up being a floating skull or something no they're generally they they generally
16:50
Dead uh people who've been and they just use their their skulls for stuff because you obviously and also cuz obviously the
16:57
problem within the Imperium they don't like they they shy away from robots as much as possible cuz they've had a bad
17:03
run with them in the past like in D so they don't they don't what Dune cuz in Dune before before the
17:10
humans sort of come back to it they they'd had an absolute they'd had a massive war with a i which is why in
17:16
Dune there nothing digital clock clock face so um yeah so the idea is is they
17:22
try not to use robots they use bits of they feel like they can trust what's left of humans more so okay
17:30
fine makes sense yeah like servitors they just have like really basic
17:35
functions they can't think for themselves yeah they just evence all information is like constantly being given to them it's not they're not AI
17:42
they don't they they don't think they're just they're not like they're not like Star Wars Rob they have do they not think like maybe an iPhone would be
17:50
easier no cuz iPhone leads to Ai and AI leads to war cuz that was the was it the
17:56
Dark Age of Technology yeah yeah that's right yeah I need to start reading these books but um yeah yeah I love I love
18:03
pretty much most I tell you what model I really liked really lik the medic yes I thought he looked great I
18:08
think which is I think he's the first ever C head be heads I think I've ever seen I'm not seeing one where is he and
18:15
he's in the command Squad yes cuz he's got a gas mask on but he's got no helmet on he can see hair yeah you can see his
18:21
hair his gray hair and everything find him for me okay yeah please yeah he looks he looks really
18:27
good is in that Swip AC crossy bit I really like the command Squad I think the commissars awesome oh okay oh be
18:34
head head I face sorry yeah oh okay yeah I think the command Squad looks great yeah command squad's really good the
18:39
commissar like a c commissar that's quite fun I know what you're saying though I definitely like I would love to
18:44
dirty them up some more but hey if you want to learn how to PL paint cloth and cloaks yeah start there it's all cloth
18:51
and cloak they used to do um they used to do um Creed commissar on horse which
18:57
was a nice miniature m the horses are really like I think the claw feet I like
19:03
them having them I just didn't wish they were quite so obviously looking like they were trying to grab stuff yeah I
19:09
like them they look they're just too Griff Hound for me but I love I love the mech horses and I love the masks yeah I
19:15
like the idea the The Masks were um I used to like the masks on the Forge World ones more cuz they were far more
19:21
armored they were more like a knight horses helmet with like more overlapping plates but I do like them but when
19:27
they're rearing them up and the the the the claws are going all they're all expanded it looks really odd which I
19:34
sort of like cuz I like the fact that they they've been bioengineered to be a fighting animal they're not just a mount
19:41
they will fight in combat yeah yeah you know so I I appreciate it to some degree I think if I was doing them I'd have
19:47
probably brought the feet more the toes more together so they looked a bit more like Hoops but I do like them I
19:54
think go on I prefer like I said said to you earlier like I I prefer these to the rof Riders like when the rof riders came
20:01
out like I knew that they were a thing I'm not really familiar with the older models but seeing them and going like I was like horses in 40K whereas these I'm
20:09
looking at them and I'm like horses in 40K they're Grim dark aren they they're more fitting with the
20:15
they're very they are very 40K aren they um I like the bases that they're done with them like you get the feeling that
20:21
you know they're in the trenches and all that sort of stuff yeah which is really cool which is kind of where I get your criticism of slightly yeah pain they me
20:29
to be in the trenches um I really like the troop options like I've never been
20:35
overly fussed about big guns um but they're good aren't they they that kind of thing but because of the first world
20:41
Warfield the big cannons sort of Suits them doesn't it yeah and the nice the
20:47
weapon options for the combat engineers are great as well I love the I've not gone through looking at like the options and stuff like I'll be interested to see
20:53
how you put this kit together whether it's going to be fiddly or fixed so um but yeah like how you can swap around
20:59
but I just I especially love the guy who's got the giant pump action revolver
21:04
on the right hand side like shot oh there's a couple of them yeah they're like shotgun revolvers and I'm just like
21:10
don't even know what that is don't think it's realistic at all but it's awesome
21:16
it looks really good you you do get a combat shotgun which has like a massive drum mag
21:22
yeah um and they can they have like 12 think or something like that
21:29
yeah yeah yeah you have yeah yeah but it does this looks more like an A2 you say got the drum mag on the bottom this is
21:35
actually a revolver oh yeah Didn't They one of the guys carries them in the first Expendables movie yes yeah like
21:41
Terry Cruz yeah carries one of them yeah yeah but um I think they're um I think they're really really nice I think
21:47
they've done well like I say as it may be done with less grabbin on the horse feet and a bit more of a grim dark paint
21:54
job but I understand they've got to sell them to everybody so I get the
21:59
Grim there's going to be some Wicked paint jobs when these get ear yeah once they get handed over to the cuz you know
22:05
they hand them all over to the top end painters don't they uh or or not just top end but also interesting painters as
22:12
well and uh I'm looking forward to see what comes back that one with the the
22:17
the one that's running with the other way around I was just looking at that such a good yeah like more more like
22:23
this I think that's the thing like GW really pushing the dynamicism of the these models and making the horses look
22:31
like horse charging moving oh it's fantastic I said weirdly like I was I was talking to you guys but I cuz I was
22:37
distracted and messaging um around and writing up things um I wasn't watching
22:42
the reveal I was getting the summary so I was watching curith show oh he must have loved
22:48
the yeah the the tanks and stuff he likes his armor is it the Harvest
22:54
lighter well we'll get to um that little flying thing he loves that I think when we had him on the show he really wanted
23:00
it to be in plastic yeah yeah it's yeah and he was like oh yeah I want to draw but oh I tell you what I like which
23:06
looks really brutally Grim is the small weapon the small weapons um heavy
23:12
weapons they've got hi Bell hey baby where one of them comes with a heavy flamer and it looks like the most brutal
23:19
sort of weapon combination yeah do you mean the the last one yeah that no
23:24
there's one it's a lighter one than that is they got smaller weapon options than that oh okay let me see if I can find it
23:31
for you oh is it only on the like the plastic preview things not a painted one but yeah I do like the options you can
23:37
see on the is it artillery the the yeah yeah um yeah like the place you can put
23:45
your your guys in what looks like slightly different places or like there's a guy lead who'll lean into it
23:50
so it looks like he's working on it or a guy shooting oh on those ones yeah the
23:55
flam yeah the flam looks great I really like like they've kind of someone's almost stepped out of the box a bit when
24:01
you look at those models they've got like cuz you get them in a squad of three obviously with your uh Communications guy but the um when you
24:10
look at the models underneath where they've got the flamer and the LZ Cannon like someone's really pushed the and and
24:16
it's not on any of the others really pushed what's that powder the pigment powder into it to like you know it
24:21
stands out from all the others but nice pain job on the one with a flamer as well where they've G them more like a
24:27
burgundy brown jacket pretty Co I like the little water effect on that as well so I like where the
24:32
other members of the team have taken these paint jobs um just to add some
24:38
interest to it yeah and I like the extra weathering oh it's the white jacket on that one yeah it's cool isn't it yeah so
24:44
I think they've done I think they've done really really well with the creek and I think they will sell absolutely Handover fist yeah I've never really
24:51
been into God I do like catachan but I watched that and I just literally when I was in the Stream I was like so I guess
24:57
I collect cre now interestingly I like I've been looking at them and going like yeah they're
25:02
really cool I don't I don't want the um starter box just cuz it's 11 horses yeah
25:10
you don't have to have it you don't have to buy it yeah like I'm not I'm not going to um I'm more interested in the
25:16
uh in troops when he's like watch me paint 11 horses in 12 hours a video comes out yeah early
25:24
January it'll be that sorry I'm just I'm in a mode of um because i' I've been doing like a lot of
25:30
reviews lately and people are like I disagree you're just Shilling for this company and you're just trying to sell it I'm like did you not see the end
25:36
where I said it's [ __ ] but all right no worries mate so I'm just in the mood of you do realize you don't buy review did
25:42
you did you watch the video and then decide this isn't for me great I did my job but uh yeah it's really nice I think
25:49
I that I think when that box comes out that'll be one of them ones where you could almost have a stopwatch from when
25:55
pre-orders is to when it's yeah yeah yeah that's going to go super fast it will it'll go fast it it'll be one of
26:01
those ones that dominates the internet like literally everyone who's got a painting Channel I imagine would be that
26:08
I'd like to see aarco job on those yes I don't think it's normally
26:13
his wheel house but I'd very much like to see where he takes it um for a squad
26:20
of that but maybe they're too small or fiddly just to yeah but yeah I'd like that but yeah all the whole range is
26:26
really really nice I really like it um I'm hoping um if you go into the
26:32
command Squad if you go all the way to the last page swipe to the of them that you can
26:39
get they've got a guy with a melter whose helmet is face mask is um more done to
26:45
look like a skull I'd like to see more of that I wonder whether that might be an there's a few of them if you go to the is a few
26:53
you go to the actual Squad look they've all got the little little teethy bits yeah
26:58
yeah so I wonder where that's going to become called an alternate head because obviously the other ones is where they have like the metal the metal rivet
27:05
piece yeah so yeah i' like all the all the combat engineers have I've got that is that what they are the the combat
27:11
engineers yeah but then like if you look at the Riders they've got the other version I thought um oh yeah I thought
27:17
um C were is are these a different color scheme to the ones that do you remember the kill team cig I think these are similar similar
27:24
yeah but they did but there was a lot of when that came out there was a lot of people um they did a lot of Al with the
27:30
alternate weapons and things they were doing them in Greens right okay so you were getting this sort of mostly this
27:35
sort of gray light gray but there was also people the the heavy metal team when they were doing the alternate
27:41
weapon options and things like that were doing them in Green Jackets as well and they looked really nice shovels were a thing weren't they but is that just
27:47
shovels is more of a meme than a real thing you get the odd shovel in in Creek but you don't it's not a big thing it's
27:53
more of a um the it's more of a gag there's a really great cosplay by you know the guy who does iron Warrior
27:59
cosplay yeah he's got a Creed costume he's fantastic well I'm sure it would be
28:05
that boy knocks out the park does I saw him not last year the year before and I was on my way to go and see him to film
28:10
him for a video um in his iron Warrior suit and I I Leed it to there and then I noticed there's this guy stood in a cre
28:16
costume and I'm like oh let me get you first how you doing mate so what do you do and he's like you do know it's me
28:22
right I'm like no I didn't did I how I could you had a mask on the one that's really the nice little touch I like on
28:27
there as well is that the combat engineer with the pistol yeah they've almost like the lastz pistol look like a
28:34
um like a first world war German Mouser pistol and if you don't know the Mouser pistol it's the one that they adapted
28:41
for Han Solo in the Star Wars movies I you know what I was looking at thinking it looks more like the hand solo pistol
28:47
yeah the broom handle mouse or as it was called yeah so the fact that they they've sort of leaned into that from first world war as well and I love the
28:54
fact that the combat engineers have got all that big Extra metal plating down the front instead of just a gas Mas box
29:00
yeah yeah generally really really like them I think they've done a really really good job on
29:05
them so then the other ones which has been a long time comeon for a lot of people the elar oh okay so we're
29:13
skipping past Orcs and we'll get back to them fine okay keep it in 40K keep right let's stay in yeah so let's not dance
29:19
around like they did now I think everyone was sort of expecting or hoping for a one last thing and when we'd seen
29:24
40K come and go I was like I was gutted for spiders cuz I think um I I wanted spiders and then um
29:32
obviously Rich gray when we went to thingy released spider he did and I was like oh that's
29:38
really good so that that sort of like got me spiders juices going and then not
29:43
only did they reveal spiders but like every remaining aspect where have we missed any there is one there is one
29:50
they haven't brought one that's missing haven't done the Striking scorpion yeah sorry yeah so they've already got the
29:55
Striking scorpions models but they haven't done
30:01
I saw I saw a meme where it was like that like have we forgotten something oh well if you can't remember what it is is
30:06
can't be important and then the model sat there behind a desk like yeah yeah
30:11
yeah cuz our uh Good Friends of Channel Andy Andrew Gibson Andrew Gibson was uh was complaining that he just bought the
30:18
loads of striking scorpions the ones that came out in Kill team that was them versus Scouts it was the one on the oil
30:25
rig sort of thing and he was like the on me and I said I wouldn't be surprised that there'll still be a little bit more
30:31
of drip drip drip on on the lar cuz I think there's some other things that they could do with well really nice some
30:36
things are really cool and different and and other areas quite the same like I thought the um I thought the fire
30:43
dragons were nice and fresh but also you know and I know the paint job helps but
30:48
also quite similar to what they've had before if it's not broke don't fix it yeah and I think they've worked on that
30:53
really well yeah some nice though I like the they've done done a couple there with helmet on but with the bottom half
30:59
of the helmet and that looks really cool I think we're going to have head options
31:05
for each of these just a everyone like for everyone cuz I think they know people like to avoid faces so I think
31:12
all what's it going to be 10 a box all 10 will probably have a helmet option they look great but I do like the half
31:18
helmet on it looks like we like the way it's designed as though the top half just the top half of the helmet Clips off yeah that yeah yeah looks really
31:24
cool I I don't know all they all all that much so um you're going to have to
31:30
help me out with the name well yeah well the fire Warriors being your orange ones with the yellow helmet but they aren't massively different to look at no than
31:37
their original models they've just been given a really nice big tidy up really yeah but they look they look really good
31:43
my favorite um one is the blue dude with the banner of his own helmet I know yeah
31:50
how important are you when you've got a banner your own head and there's the wonderful meme um from Hot Fuzz where
31:57
James Bond turns around and he gives that smile and then there's a picture exactly the same you know what I
32:05
was thinking was um who made that steo from um oh from Jackass he got his
32:12
tattoo huge tattoo yeah and the other one of them that's brilliant is that
32:17
really weird foreign football foreign footballer they bring in in Ted lasso
32:22
yes have you do you ever watch Ted lass yeah yeah of course and he and he randomly and he takes his top off he
32:28
stands like that in front of the crowd and then it goes around behind him it's a tattoo on his own back of him standing
32:33
like the yeah that so that was the one
32:38
there's a there's a couple of bits I wanted to talk about with this model so that first of all the asuman as azaman I
32:45
can't even pronounce fuging properly um but it was it was mentioned on KIRO
32:50
stream the other night and they started calling him fuging Fagen yeah um so fuging has stuck now so blue the dud is
32:58
fuging no so the remember the guy they dropped the other week oh yes yeah that's that's fuging the big he the fire
33:06
warrior Phoenix Lord or whatever they called so this is ASU men as a men yeah
33:13
um so this is the one where when we were talking about different races earlier he's not an Eldar he's a Gundam he is
33:21
look at that he's very he is very gamn colors isn't he yeah but people I think when again when I was watching it the
33:27
other night people like were like oh don't like the mouth and I was like don't know and then the more I look at
33:32
it the more like no I do like that I do like that mouth I don't know why like it's very his helmet yeah like I don't
33:40
know why it's not typical L art it is very almost modern and Mech but that's
33:47
why I like it more I love my Mech stuff well the thing I'll give to it is the fact that a you know seen it from one
33:52
angle really you need to see it from Front on but also as well it's a fake mouth isn't it yeah yeah so you know
33:59
what what expression would you want it to have you know I think the orig if I'm right the original one was just flat so
34:06
and I'm remembering back a few years so the original metal one was the one that I actually drove to Games Workshop in
34:13
Eastwood no not drove cuz I I didn't have a car uh I walked to Games Workshop when it was in Eastwood Nottingham went
34:20
in and said please can I have one of these it's going to be the model I enter into young Bloods and I got home and I
34:26
painted it and my mate was like oh don't don't want to go cuz he got nervous and like didn't like crowds and I was about 12 or 13 at the time um and sort of
34:33
bailed and I was like I've got no one to go with now oh don't want to go so I didn't paint it but that could have been
34:40
it's nice the original one so that but looking at that model that means a lot to me and seeing it this is the HD
34:47
upgrade era isn't it like we've gone from SD to HD that's what they're doing they're not pushing the boat out and
34:53
changing the sculpts um it stood on a rock so I'm going to assume Darren leam
34:59
or one of his disciples uh sculpted it as an ongoing uh dig at him um but it's only a light
35:07
dig because uh I really like the work that he and the rest of the team do
35:12
they're fantastic um but yeah that's absolutely gorgeous and I love how tall
35:18
and Sleek it looks I'd really like to see cuz I can't tell if that's a 32 mil base or a
35:23
40 I think it's going to be a 32 I think that's going to be smaller than I think it is but I would love yeah that's going
35:30
to be a 32 mil base I'm sure but I would love to see like the scale of that being
35:36
quite tall like significantly taller than that of the other alar but I don't know what the LW is maybe they're all
35:41
the same size but yeah love it that's probably my favorite model of the reveal I think oh wow well a lot of people have
35:50
been having uh their favorites of the reveal um the old one did Might forgot
35:55
about one yeah the old one did have mouth did it yeah in fact a bit more of an expressive mouth oh yeah no it was a
36:02
taller wasn't it it was like almost a growley yeah yeah um but yeah um so they
36:08
also cuz bless them they have been getting on a little bit was the warp spiders on exit have been uh mildly over
36:15
you haven't they yes yeah and I I I I don't love them as
36:22
much I I think they look great I really like them but they've which but i i s of
36:30
appreciate this is the fact that they've done their best to not go too far away from the original from the original um
36:38
designs but I I got to be honest I think the new warp spiders look really really and whoever's painted them as Well's
36:43
done a phenomenal good job on that red but uh I think more when you consider
36:48
the scale of these like you you so many people think Space Marines when they look at any Warhammer model and the lar
36:55
are much slender than that to follow the other week when I got I was like have we skipped down sorry are we on the red
37:01
come back to the go to the red ones sorry um yeah the other week I was
37:07
in a bit of a painting rot and I was like you know what what do I want to do so I started flicking through Court of paint because I find their videos very
37:12
approachable for airbrush and quick results um and uh I got like to the
37:18
Striking scorpions and I was watching I think it was an Andy video as well not a Henry video and I'm
37:24
like okay yeah I'll give that a go seems thing and then I went and picked one up cuz they're like they are nearby on my
37:30
shelf in like I've got these Ikea drawers that you can just pull out that got models on um and I pulled them out
37:37
and then I realized how small they were I was like oh [ __ ] you Andy like you make it look so easy and so achievable
37:43
well especially when it comes to elves cuz it's his wheelhouse isn't it is yeah but um I think the standard warp spiders
37:50
look really really good um but that the new Phoenix load for them is just
37:59
exceptional it looks like it drags in lots of other areas that they've been learning to get right recently I get a
38:06
real feeling of um the necrons from it with like the electric web almost below him almost feels like some of that NE
38:13
you know like the the the Spells of the ne well it's not spells or such but what the necrons have got you know where they've had things with cubes and that
38:19
spinning around it feels a lot like that um I think the helmet and the hair on
38:25
that miniature look really really really good and I like the fact it's really leaning into the spider thing because
38:31
it's effectively ate limbs it's done that really well yeah yeah it's my favorite one that one great I like it I
38:38
still again I've just got a personal Nostalgia for asumen that I can't
38:43
pronounce um however six eyes is that right yeah spiders yeah six eyes I
38:49
thought it was eight eyes eight legs eight legs SI yeah
38:55
buts fine yeah very cool though and the highlighting on that black whoever's
39:02
been to that again hats off to them the highlighting on it the paint job and in all is phenomenal but so then I'm
39:09
excited to see before we jump off on that one I am excited to see what like golden demon entrance do with that oh I
39:16
think it's got golden demon written all over it that do I think I think it really has there'll be somebody sitting
39:21
there planning their colors out for that as we speak out and then we got the one that they've named after the paint baharroth
39:29
every time every time the um and then the other one which my heart goes out to
39:35
uh again me he gets two mentions on the show is Mr Andrew Gibson Andrew Gibson I
39:40
said to him because he's a big aldar fan I said what do you think of the new releases he says they're really nice he said I like them new swoop and Hawks
39:47
even though I have just painted 30 of the last ones oh god oh 30 of
39:54
them these are going to look so good I mean those last ones showing their age now aren't they cuz they're all metal um
40:01
the like the as good as the wings are they're soft these are going to be sharp
40:06
detailed they look fantastic when you look at the um the main guy on the photo
40:12
yeah I can't tell is is one of them the utar in here or xar or what they are
40:18
yeah yeah but whoever it is with with the plume of wings and the Really beaky face I'm not keen on the beess of the
40:26
face but at the same time the whole model's just gorgeous have we got we have got
40:32
yeah we have got and then the Scorpions are below so he's the the main lad and he with the with the plume the the sword
40:39
oh yeah and then looking below oh they're just stunning they are are really beautifully painted and you know
40:44
said it already but whoever's who uh whatever part of the heavy metal team was put on lar they've excelled
40:51
themselves cuz they are really really nice they've done a really good job uh the only thing on the um
40:58
the only thing I'm not that sure on on the uh bajaro is I'm not that Keen on
41:05
them feathers on the top of his helmet the feathers aren't off for me but other
41:12
than that I think it's a really really beautiful sculpt uh very impressed with it maybe there'll be another hel maybe
41:18
he might be he might be I need to look at the original to be like maybe that had feathers I don't remember it well
41:24
enough I just feel like I I'm just a bit annoyed that um I don't feel quite as excited about the lar as I want to
41:30
because I don't play them or yeah you know you're look like go they're all great oh I don't play them and I'm not going to but they are really really nice
41:37
I want to paint them dead bad I'm like yeah I I need to I want to practice with me striking scorpions following Cult of
41:44
paint I I you know what I'm more excited to see Cult of paints videos on these
41:50
like seriously and Andy or Henry even Andy loves his elves like Henry Henry
41:59
won't get a look in on them not with Andy not with Andy I want to see their fugging I want to see a video on every
42:06
single every single model and the armies like an army painter approach to these
42:12
because I'm so excited for that go on if I move on and we'll stick sci-fi because it makes more sense uh if we go on into
42:20
uh Horus heresy yep I have got a real real little happy streak for me for this
42:25
even though okay I don't play Horus heresy um it it was
42:32
available just at the wrong time it was H last legs just at the wrong time for me and I missed it is that they've got a
42:39
made a plastic um lighter the the uh lighter yeah the Arvest lighter the um
42:46
is that the flyy thing I didn't even see that in the rals well um I bought many
42:51
moons ago the um the big uh it's gone now I think the scenery that was the big
42:58
Landon Bay the big Landon P was that oh God yeah with the big Imperial Eagles in
43:03
it about seven eight years ago I bought that I found it in of all places in uh
43:08
in element games in one of them white boxes oh right yeah the mystery white box it was in one of them and I bought
43:14
it and I loved it and I thought to myself I need to would look really cool as if I bought the transport that could
43:21
live on there you know I thought cuz I thought yeah I could get a valkyrie but then a valkyrie then says Imperial Guard
43:28
whereas that could just be something whizzing around on behalf of the Imperium and I thought I'd really like the idea of that and now they brought it
43:35
out in plastic and it's actually better than it was because it's now got a rear Gunner on it as well if that's you think
43:41
if you wanted to look at it actually is capable of some level of violence and it looks modular as well like you can actually take that off or based on this
43:48
guy on the side who's just sat out there in the middle of nowhere yeah you can just lift off yeah pilot isn't just off
43:57
the panel for it nice pilot miniature as well really nice pilot miniature but um yeah so um I'm really pleased he brought
44:03
that out cuz I um I will paint that um cuz I don't have the Nostalgia
44:09
attachment to this no um and yeah I look at that and I'm just like what like
44:17
brick with wings is it it's a brick with wings and don't get me wrong if it was any other shape i' still be quite happy
44:23
it's it's more the fact that it will look good on not just on a land of Pad but I'll do the Landon pad and then I'll
44:28
stick a load of like Supply Boxes by it and all the rest of it and then it becomes its own it becomes its own
44:34
proper scenery piece and it tells a bit of a story at the same time and that's it's not my thing I can appreciate it
44:40
it's fine it just it looks a bit basic and then we've got they promised us that
44:46
there would be more tanks for Horus heresy in the highly detailed road map and um yes they they just went tanks
44:53
tanks and yeah and they've the uh they've they've kept up to that so they've got another tank which works on
44:59
the malcador chass which comes with the enormous gun on the front of it this one
45:05
has been adapted called the valdor tank Hunter and has a massive
45:10
big I assume it's meant to be some sort of super laser in the front of it whatever it is oh it's a neutron laser
45:16
projector it it had me a massive Cannon I'm like yeah tanks with freaking laser
45:21
beams on their head yes please and then the other um the other one that's down
45:27
below it as well which I really like it is um it's Wonder good tank with just the world's largest heavy flamer and
45:34
then it's got its flavor and it's got own car its own fuel for it which I loved yeah i' like I say I'm not I'm not
45:41
a Horus hares fan well not fan I am a fan of what of the designs and so I
45:47
think are really good but I don't play I just yeah well my my wallet's just not that big but um I wonder if they have
45:53
bottoms do you think there'll be bottoms on these tanks God I hope so oh my God can you imagine oh you heard it here
45:59
first yeah before moving on it's interesting something it kind of just occurred to me and just kind of just a s side step for one moment yeah to drag
46:05
out the show so we had the we had the the the road maps didn't we and we were
46:11
all like what was the [ __ ] point yeah now that we've got the reveals of which
46:17
those road maps laid out how do we feel about the road maps now like would we would you have rather I'd rather have
46:24
just waited you'd rather have just not known yeah or would you have rather they split these and revealed half then half
46:30
now would like like now that we've got the the the benefit of hindsight and this is one for the audience as well
46:36
what do you guys think you would have liked but now that we like they did they teased us like next year do I want to go
46:43
into the end of the year and they go we've got these things coming and then because they've kind of set that precedent this year we're like oh we're
46:50
going to see this soon we're going to see this soon and then we build the excitement or would we rather they just
46:56
no don't saying saying there's going to be saying there's going to be tanks in Horrors heresy is well yeah like oh wow
47:03
and then T show November isn't it you know I mean us we knew tanks but what
47:08
tanks um that kind of thing I think the road maps are still crap and what if they gave you more detail what if they
47:15
gave you like but then does it ruin the reveal but then like you say all the reveals are kind of ruined
47:21
anyway cuz like you say everyone knew it was C everyone knew it was everyone guessed virally what was going to be
47:27
knew virtually every single thing that was in that box did they guess that c was coming in this or did they guess C
47:34
was being announced at the reveals I think people knew cre this
47:39
people knew that this 40K release this this reveal was going to be C but that's
47:44
cuz they said c in the road map yeah well they said c in the new year yeah yeah and but let's not forget as well
47:51
they've also started a very very early element of doing new reveals cuz they P they posted a picture the other day albe
47:58
it an art picture not a photograph of um of beond the fellhanded
48:03
what what yeah like sneaking into someone's bedroom yeah like Santa so on
48:09
Facebook I'll see if I can find the image but if I can't I should just subscribe it to you um but basically
48:15
like an open bedroom door isn't it it's cuz everybody gathers around and they wake up beor and he tells stories from like 10,000 years ago um so it's like oh
48:23
you get to ask beyond the fell-handed a question what would you do and there was a picture of him just like poking poking
48:29
around the door like he was Father Christmas kind of like a tease and looks like and he looks like
48:35
he's in newer armor as well okay yeah is this heresy born or is this 40K born
48:42
well this is 40k 4K 40 40K 40K in in the in so the dread naau is right okay yeah
48:49
oh even more looking dread as well that means potentially wolves are coming oh
48:55
yeah yeah well has been already pretty much telling us what's going to be in that already as well so when they said
49:01
reveal so when they said reveal yeah you know yeah you could have gone oh it could they could show space walls but
49:07
they could you know yeah it could have just been um it could have just been we're going to show Eldar or whatever
49:13
but everyone was pretty much solid that yeah yeah they were going to get yeah I think once they showed that um Phoenix
49:20
Lord for the fire dragon as I'm not going to attempt to say his name but when they showed him [ __ ] him yeah that's him when they showed him it was
49:28
pretty much the open door to go all of the other Eldar stuff that we know has been sitting waiting to go is on the way
49:34
so I see I expected something like when I saw him I thought fire dragons I prayed for spiders but I thought fire
49:40
dragons I did not expect all of the remaining aspects to be revealed in one
49:46
video without sounding like a bit of a smart I sort of did well you're great aren't you yeah been
49:52
sad nor not by any of our viewers nor nor on a toilet wall with a phone
49:59
number oh Jesus Christ yeah but that's in that toilet just one and I
50:07
did for a good time please call please um but yeah no it was more like I it's
50:15
just something don't get me wrong I'm not for or against either way I don't know and and you know I'm the The View
50:22
seems to be in the minority in this room but I'm also like I want to know what's coming earlier cuz I want to get excited
50:28
and I kind of like we did sort of know what was coming and I went into this one with a bit more thingy a bit more
50:35
excitement going in and I and I I don't know that that isn't because of the road
50:41
maps of the road maps I think if they hadn't I my issue with the road maps protect like is I haven't thought about
50:47
them in months like I say my issue with the road maps it's a big fundamental issue and it's affected my life it
50:53
[ __ ] hasn't no you you you have strong opinions about things that don't matter yeah he said this last time yeah
50:59
yeah um I I think it was just like they built it up like it was a big
51:05
show it was a big a big let down um if they' done the road maps like you don't
51:11
have to do a a big reveal if they'd done them dropped them on socials on warcom
51:17
or whatever and just sort of said like oh here's a road map for 40K for the rest of the year like and people might
51:23
have just gone all right like cool I'm glad I didn't to a live show to watch
51:28
this that would have been glad didn't stay up until 4:00 in the morning you know whatever so do you think it was
51:33
just like probably they got close to that show and they're like well we've got this Nova thing happening and and
51:40
every year we've done reveals or at least the last couple we've done these announcements what have we got this time
51:46
nothing cuz we're still painting it all and it's just kind of ended up that I think to do a reveal show where you then
51:52
blatantly also say when you've be in mind you've got the biggest B one of the biggest buying points of the year of
51:57
going here's our road map and by the way we're not releasing anything else this year it was a bit like I think you know
52:04
I think that soured a few people up yeah and it was super interesting because they released their like quarterly
52:10
earnings um really recently they did and the stock went like through the roof
52:15
it's it's done their massive jump better than expected off the back of what um what well just just in general but it's
52:22
like yeah cuz like they did an announcement and we're like what they're not releasing anything for their biggest game for an entire quarter like what
52:29
they all about and it's like they don't even bloody need to they're still making bank so literally they got me the other
52:35
week cuz um I walked in and they've got them little uh Whatchamacallit you know the plushies yeah the Toyo is it Toyo
52:43
plushes like sassy nergling and everything yeah yeah that's it and my daughter went in she was like and she like the big magic flamy purple ball cuz
52:50
it's big and purple and and looks like magic and it's got a skull on the front and my son loved the servo skull and I'm like no it's just a waste of money
52:57
you'll stick it in the corner of your room you'll never touched it two days later my daughter went into hospital overnight for a limp and I was like oh
53:03
no but the hospital's next daugh to Warhammer so I was like oh yes it is on the way in I'll nip in and I'll grab her
53:10
um the the thing she wanted make her feel a bit better so I did that and it it wasn't bad it was like 20 quid I think for a big plushy which is
53:17
reasonable in the plushy World terrible yeah cuz like is it jelly cats they're like insanely God yeah like squishimals
53:25
are ridiculous they're like they're just big egg things but no I thought it was reasonable so I thought I did that and
53:30
then but like Christ the the I noticed like the price of what was it um the
53:35
other day I saw a little shot it's like have you seen what you can get um for 150 quid today shopping I did the same
53:42
thing oh that was my of all people my wife sent me that yeah yeah yeah have you seen where the guy just seen how how
53:49
much shopping you can get for 150 quid have you seen that one no and then he's pulling all the groceries out and he
53:54
pulls all he's pulling bread milk you know bag of chips and then he pulls out
54:00
oh it was one of the arm the blood Ang the blood angels starter box that out
54:05
then carries on with the rest of and it's nothing like literally you can't get anything for 150 quid but I did the
54:11
same thing so I walked to I'll get this for my daughter and I'll get another copy of uh you know the new kill team
54:16
that's come out yeah yeah so um yeah no we're not we plan was we weren't meant toled it
54:24
the whole people why have they got kill team on there and they don't even mention it I'll cut it
54:30
out okay no no it's fine keep it in now it's funer um but yeah so I did that so
54:35
I was like my wife was like oh did you get her that yeah y yeah that was it good dad I you know what I don't know
54:42
even in the household who would really need it or want it but I keep every I can't walk past them sassy
54:48
nerling plushy without going sassy nergling yes you know the the nergling
54:53
that's is he on Marian's base uh no he's on the in the helmet oh yeah I
54:59
got that too yeah what myself he was on he was on
55:04
watch in the dark the little he was just on Plague Marine Champion base oh right people always used to say that he buy
55:09
sassy nagling and he comes with a free champion yes okay I like it he's the one
55:15
that's got his face his face is starting to grow into his own armor yeah that one
55:20
yeah but um yeah so and then the last thing in Horus sesy that I want to touch on was my my least favorite dreadn I
55:28
thank you sorry I was looking at that and I was like no when I look the radio
55:34
dreadnut that looks like looks like 40K speedboat on legs I don't get it at all
55:41
I love the people like it great good on you it's got some kickass guns the last
55:47
cannons canons look Mega especially with the big power packs on the back of it for them as well but I just oh I don't
55:54
get that dread yeah but it needs more and again we talk about uh all they're all monopos
56:02
nowadays sorry but that's why cuz this just doesn't do it anymore no like if it
56:09
was more like one one leg forward one leg back like your plasma up here and then your Laser cannon doing that yeah
56:15
and then like or you could pose it you could POS it maybe you can pose it
56:20
to striding forward and then obviously on another base behind it would be the Space Marine on the water skis look
56:29
for that's not yet we've done flying it's next year's kill team yeah be all
56:35
going to be on water everything on boat water they swim now yeah
56:42
yeah the it's the Space Marine paddle board Detachment yeah
56:47
yeah I'm much like say I think I much prefer tro choices so the heresy stuff
56:53
really didn't didn't do for me like the look of armor and I want to paint more
56:59
armor and I've got four grab tanks built and I'm just like oh that just looks
57:04
such a big job even air brushing I usually like dreadnots like I think
57:09
that's they're my sort of gateway drug to painting vehicles but um yeah big tanks and stuff aren't aren't my cup of
57:16
tea I don't think so I will that was kind of a bit if I move on yeah and go into age of
57:23
sigar don't care yeah well normally I would going to say and I'm now going to
57:28
be freak you all out down and say I'm going to go in and I'm look looking at
57:34
you say the G Mob yeah thought so the git mob which is the uh which is the
57:42
Cavalry uh which are orc based Cavalry which will actually uh well they're not
57:47
actually orc based they are actually uh Goblin based if you will I think that
57:52
may come with their boss might be my favorite model of the Tire reveal wolf Rider guy yeah I think it's amazingly
58:00
good I I I I'm lost I need to find out where I'm going sorry if you go so scroll up to the top it's the one below
58:06
the Oro um we have oh got the Goblins yeah
58:11
Goblin Cavalry and their boss just looks absolutely awesome I think I think it's
58:18
such a nice miniature oh wolf is brilliant the wolf is on two tactical rocks the wolf is that you know that
58:25
wolf you know that wolf meanss business yeah so does that does that mean we all we always or I always I always mention a
58:32
certain painter has paint if it's on a tactical Rock was this painted by that person's dad it could be on two tactic T
58:40
rocks or but I think that's yeah oh yeah like yeah just putting him down yeah I
58:45
think that's absolutely lovely I really do and I even like the the real characterful face on the uh on the
58:52
goblin as well I like that like he looks like a boss do he does he looks like he's in char and also he look like in charge but
58:58
looks like he'd be a teross to for he just a compl look of disain about him that you wouldn't it reminds me he's the
59:05
goblin equivalent of who's the guy from Deep Space 9 who runs the bar oh yeah
59:10
yeah know you I can't think of his name but the FI yeah the fangi lad um but
59:17
yeah just an absolute ass lovely the armor on the wolf really good yeah again
59:23
this is one that I would love to you know who I'd love to see paint that um oh bloody hell he he came second this
59:31
year in um golden demon I say came second he
59:37
came second um in which category in no there wasn't a category in my mind he he
59:44
came second in winning the Slayer sword oh in your in your ranking system in my
59:49
ranking ranking Albert Albert yeah like I'd love to see like Albert do one of
59:55
the and obviously he change it quite a lot but like that sort of paint job on that sort of model I think them Riders
1:00:01
are really really love the one where the one where the two of them are on the one r on the back of the one wolf I think
1:00:08
it's just yeah there there's two where there's two of them yeah yeah two where there's two of them sorry you're right yeah so I didn't see this in the video
1:00:14
it's quite fun scrolling through this best Warhammer wolves yet they're very good I tell you what whoever's doing
1:00:21
these Warhammer wolves can you make sure they're the guys that do any of the Wolves for when they do space Wolf refresh cuz apparently rumor is that
1:00:28
Russ when not Russ when grimnar comes back he may well have two wolves on his
1:00:33
base yeah the Bel didn't he originally have like the wasn't he riding some kind
1:00:38
of Chariot s slay are we going to see um and then before that he was on foot do
1:00:44
you think we'll see Leman Ross come back don't know' be cool if he did but I I I
1:00:50
feel like they're not done with I feel like there's more Dark Angels to do yet
1:00:55
that's cuz don't feel like he got enough yeah I don't feel like Dark Angels has finished no and forget blood angels cuz
1:01:02
that was we talked enough about what that release was embarrassment yeah oh I
1:01:07
got my thing sculpted I did it do you remember I was on about the chest plate for the thing I got it done it was a pain in the ass but it's done yay so
1:01:15
I've got yeah so they are that's going to be me kill team and I'll have me angels of death look oh and actually need to look at these now I've just
1:01:21
realized all of the weapons are actually over the chests apart from what oh there's a couple there's a couple there
1:01:28
that aren't that's the yeah so obviously I want to see the the peck chest from the lieutenant U they haven't come out
1:01:35
amazing but I can think I can clean them off CLE work with them but yeah if I take those chests off but most of them
1:01:41
are covered quite a few of them say the um the assault intercessor the
1:01:46
um the chains sword attaches the the peg is in his the chest a Dr a hole out it's
1:01:54
not B I'll figure that out and then obviously we've got the gravis guy and the um uh what's the smaller armor fobos
1:02:01
Phobos guy gravis and fobos well fobos you won't anyway and then also foboss don't wear that type of armor anyway
1:02:07
they' got a different plate so I've got one two so I've done eight and I need one two three four unless there's one
1:02:13
hidden is there only seven no there's seven yeah right okay so yeah I only needed four I'll use them somewhere but
1:02:19
anyway yeah like I don't feel like this whole Space thing you biscuits I'm not I'm not complete or I don't feel
1:02:27
satisfied with the Dark Angels releases we got the lion I it sounds horrible but
1:02:32
I think that that that's definitely I think going to be it yeah I do and but I think also as well to be fair to the
1:02:37
Dark Angels they're probably the ones that are the least away from the codecs you know their standard guys are pretty
1:02:44
much they are just intercessors in green they they are typically yeah know way with the the black black Templars
1:02:51
weapons are chained to them everyone wears the tabard you know they further away um you know Templar crosses both
1:02:57
shoulders and all the rest of it but um the majority of the Dark Angels were just basic Space Marines but yeah I just
1:03:03
think a bit more character a little bit more option in the Terminators because
1:03:09
as I've said a few times we lost what we had and then um I think there were some
1:03:15
I mean we got a lot of the characters we got bile we got a lot of the other guys so yeah maybe I'm just misremembering it
1:03:20
or I need to actually revisit them but the the blood angels definitely feels inmp complete they need assault
1:03:26
Terminators definitely and wings why didn't like they need assault
1:03:32
Terminators and wings very good um fre the nipple the I think the thing that
1:03:37
annoys me is when we got Dark Angels We Got The Lion but when we got blood angels where's sanguinius well sanguinus
1:03:42
is dead oh sorry all right I was going to make that joke I was like no I
1:03:49
think I still fell for it just going back to them just got like a plastic coffin got a love I've got to love again
1:03:57
and a doom diver catapult a goblin on a really rudimentary set of wings being
1:04:03
fired off a catapult is just the most is just the most oy thing isn't it I think
1:04:08
it's brilliant that is fantastic and I love as well you can't see too much for but the fact underneath all of that
1:04:13
there's a full cow oh God Jesus Christ that's brilliant oh wait and once
1:04:21
again no Hooves and what I like is if you look next to the cow there's the ne guy who's going to get catapulted off
1:04:27
there waiting for his go yes he's already in his net yeah I'm certainly
1:04:33
not against these I said at the beginning I don't care I don't care about Sigma no no um as a game but yeah these models have a lot of character
1:04:40
they really do and I can say I'm the same I I'm not the world's biggest fan but you've just got to appreciate the
1:04:47
the level of effort that's gone into just making that so offer trolley crazy
1:04:54
I just love the fact that there's one sit there with his wings on weeks ago I just thought was just such a brilliant thing yeah I just say the and and I
1:05:00
might be wrong about this so if you are the painter of this model and you are watching the show um why there are
1:05:07
better ones um but um no in seriousness like the
1:05:14
base on this is obviously a very good mix of like the Arid texture paints and things like that and it kind of it looks
1:05:21
a little bit low effort in regard to how you know to apply a lot of these things
1:05:27
cuz it is just arid paint paint over it um the the bushes the grass tfts and the
1:05:34
texture but the way and the stones and the way that's been put together is just
1:05:39
so simply perfectly arid yeah battle land that I'm like I'm actually I don't
1:05:45
know why I'm just drawn to looking at that base thinking wow that looks so
1:05:51
perfect crackle crackle Med more Paints in some bits but not others and the um
1:05:58
yeah and the volume like builds and lowers like also as well the Chariots that are below that they've done a good
1:06:04
job of having like a a real like boss on a chariot with a tiny little a tiny little Goblin hanging off the back of it
1:06:10
which I thought was amazing which when was that um oh yeah but then also the
1:06:16
wizard version of it with the massive big skull and a wizard standing on the
1:06:22
top of it screaming from it just I like I say couldn't care less about goblins but the amount of character gone into
1:06:29
them one in one Bo no it's not no no it's not one box but it's it's the kind
1:06:35
like the C like a lot of the a lot of my favorite stuff isn't in the starter box yeah but it means that you if you do
1:06:40
want to buy it you only then need to buy the individuals don't you so yeah yeah so very good um more releases for the
1:06:47
ORS um can I just say when we talk about the Oro I think one thing that I am glad to see when we look at these goblins and
1:06:54
when we look at the these Orcs is we have completely gotten away
1:06:59
from the Dominion Orcs I don't think we're going to see those guys back yeah
1:07:05
the weird skinny ones the hob grop Splitters well well no cuz that the first guy that comes down he's like one
1:07:11
of them he's like Captain hobr oh yeah he is yeah the um um like they're quite like the skinny
1:07:19
ORS essent what were like I appreciate them trying tows are the big guys yeah
1:07:25
trying to go in a different thing but I don't think they were very well hugely a big fan like people like I want my Orcs
1:07:32
to look like I en I think the iron Jaws are fantastic oh they are and there just some lovely
1:07:38
po some of the poses in them are actually annoying enough that you think you know if you painted you played 40K
1:07:43
Orcs youo I'd want some of them yeah oh yeah these new sculpts then uh because
1:07:49
I'm looking at don't think they are new sculpts are they they're they're are they just boxed everything
1:07:55
in there already exists already existed but they've just reboxed it but looks really nice I was a bit
1:08:02
disappointed if I move on bit disappointed with the empire for the old
1:08:08
world I know it's some really at the fringes of what we we talk about but so
1:08:14
much of it is just old I was a bit like oh are they just repaints
1:08:20
or I think there was a little bit where I think it was mentioned on I think is
1:08:26
like two horses dragging um like a a a load of guys in like a mobile turret
1:08:32
essentially that a lot of that had been resculpted like the horses are new yeah but the model itself is sort of like
1:08:38
getting on very old sort of thing has come with a um like a new dude on the side or
1:08:46
something like that but I struggle to I struggle to get excited when I looked at them and how much of them were he's been
1:08:51
around forever in a day and I know that's what oldw said it would be from the very beginning and would say you
1:08:57
know not everything's going to be new there'll be a lot of pre-exist and stuff returning metal Miniatures as well yeah
1:09:04
yeah yeah bring bringing metal back are they returning in metal yeah oh so the
1:09:09
same say like yeah like you say like old stuff yeah so like great that people can buy it again if they want to um I'm I'm
1:09:17
not like a humongous old Wars fan no um I'm much more sort of sci-fi Bas you
1:09:22
know what though you can just imagine at Warhammer HQ there's a guy sat in one room around all these metal spinning
1:09:27
casting machines and then one day these like big wigs walk in and go yep okay let's start getting the isues and I like
1:09:34
what for and he's there like I've been sat down here quiet like no one's known have existed for 10 years I've been just getting away with
1:09:40
[ __ ] around all day doing 20 models a week yeah they're like yeah we're heed now because he's had his full own um
1:09:47
metal metal soldiers range that he's been running on his own no one's noce
1:09:52
yeah or he makes them and then he ships them the over the bridge to
1:09:59
warlord but um yeah but though as reveals go I thought you know depends on
1:10:05
what you're into I think it was really really good reveal I thought there was I think um it went some way to make me
1:10:12
feel a little bit a little bit less anxious about how ordinary the road map
1:10:17
was to see some of this stuff out was really really good yeah so you know and
1:10:22
and it was and you know what as well even though I probably won't collect I probably won't collect C and I won't be
1:10:28
collecting Elder and I won't be collecting go goblins or Orcs or Empire
1:10:34
it was still very welcome to see most of it I thought really I thought was really good to see a lot of it turn up and and
1:10:40
it was just nice and you go yeah you know mainly I mainly collect um mainly
1:10:46
collect Space Marines but you know it was still cool to see it you feeding my dog no I'm holding it behind my she's
1:10:51
sat there between my legs I would I would I wouldn't feed you dog
1:10:57
chocolate yeah I say for everyone you should not feed dog's chocolate um but um she's now just staring in his hand no
1:11:04
I thought it was a good reveal and I it's even like I say like I'm not going
1:11:09
to collect a lot of stuff that was released but I'm glad that it's nice to see that people are happy about it yeah
1:11:15
and that was the thing that I really got from it was then I started going straight in and looking all the different Facebook group pages that I'm
1:11:21
a member of I was struggling to find anybody upset yeah every everybody seemed to be generally really happy with
1:11:27
what had come out he was on person like me he was going not sure about that pose not sure about that but you know you know one pose in like x amount of
1:11:33
Miniatures released that you don't like you think you can't really argue can you no oh yeah yeah I mean there's nothing
1:11:39
to critique there really other than I'm not really a fan of that or this or like
1:11:44
that night like my phone was going mad with like Facebook group chats and stuff
1:11:49
like that that I'm going in I'm like I'm just muting all my first thought when I got past the as soon as I started watching all stuff with alar my first
1:11:56
thought was thinking oh I hope Andy Gibson's happy yeah you know what I mean and that's you know and that's sorry who
1:12:02
and sorry Andrew Gibson Andrew Gibson you know who I'm talking about now but
1:12:08
and Elijah watched it my youngest and he was like you really liked it and I went it's your last chance are you still
1:12:14
collecting Orcs at Christmas and he went yes but I do like the he said I do like the creek but I'm still collecting I was
1:12:21
like okay um my lingering question um from all of that was one of like more of
1:12:26
like a behind the scenes one I wondered why Games Workshop went all the way to
1:12:34
America to play a video that was filmed in Nottingham shut
1:12:41
up because they used to fly the presenters out there didn't they and they would they would be on they fil
1:12:47
inham no no and well so it it this one you mean was filed nothing they need to
1:12:53
figure out what they're doing I think cuz there's been several different sort of iterations of these sort of
1:13:00
announcements so it might be Oh weird live at lvo and Adam Troke and Eddie
1:13:06
Eckles would it would usually like twid twid Le kind of thing it always be those
1:13:11
two yeah they' be the watchs in the background and um they'd be in a room they'd be talking about stuff they'd
1:13:17
show a picture or a little video and then they come back and go yes isn't it great and then Adam would look at his screen and go ah yes Ross from
1:13:24
Nottingham said needs more nipples um oh I remember or something along those lines um everything needs more nipples
1:13:31
yes then they went to doing some like that sort of format but in Nottingham
1:13:39
like in the in the battle report Studio essentially um but then this one was now just fully all pre-recorded as quite a
1:13:47
few of them have been I think um and yeah just like just one of like why why
1:13:53
go all the way to America I they were there anyway though weren't they like it was an event that was happening it's a
1:14:00
Warhammer event it's a Warhammer event it was the world Open Championship I don't care it
1:14:06
was something was happening um so whilst we're there let's turn it into a ah for
1:14:12
these guys I mean they're not doing Fest anymore in the UK obviously so they they're drip feeding them and they're
1:14:18
not at games Expo no so they're not doing these things I very much yeah like
1:14:24
the only thing I found distracting with that that video with that Reveal video was the fact that just a couple of times
1:14:30
you could just see Sophie bound and gagged just out of shot in the background just kept see like one of
1:14:35
their feet kicking in M code help me just tapping on the wall yeah Bless but
1:14:41
um I think what what's probably happened is they've gone to these events or or
1:14:47
places like Nova where and they've been like all right let let's maybe do this live and instead of getting the whoops
1:14:53
and cheers that would build excitement they've had and they're like well let's not risk
1:14:59
that so yes it's safer option yeah yeah that's a very good yeah very good point yeah yeah what whatever they did it
1:15:06
worked like like you know like the production was good like the video was good I know they've sent people over
1:15:13
there so I'm wondering like what they're filming over there like I know they've
1:15:19
sent like like production what to just this last one will be film
1:15:26
be filming a lot of the other tournaments going and that'll probably be like lightly released or just on the twitch
1:15:32
Channel unadvertised or something so my last thing to say on all about this as well is the fact that Games Workshop
1:15:38
have took quite a different uh stance for December haven't they is as as they normally uh for quite a few years now
1:15:44
they've done an advent calendar oh which has been like you know these you know these little um what do they call them
1:15:50
where they do little snapshots of a bit of a miniature yeah the the T the Mill or something yeah that's right yeah well
1:15:57
they did normally in Christmas in the December they did one of them every day didn't they oh did they they used to do
1:16:03
an advent calendar of one of them every day and they've said this year they're not doing one yeah um but instead what
1:16:09
they're doing is you know that um within 40K um unit um armies can have
1:16:16
detachments which is certain well it can have certain ways of like how you field them which will have a negative and will
1:16:23
have a massive positive as well well apparently through December every Army is getting a new one
1:16:29
of them that's so that's what you're getting instead so they're going to build a new
1:16:34
a new Detachment idea for each Army through through that instead of doing the reveals which what this just like a
1:16:41
fixed here's a another another way to play play your another way to play so
1:16:46
kind of like so instead of releasing a box of a kill team or a not a kill team
1:16:52
a board in actions or a start collecting it's a go build it yourself
1:16:59
here should be balanced against each other well it'll be a for well it won't be balanced against each other as such
1:17:06
because it'll be 40K so it's still for you to figure out what you're taken within it and you know but it'll you
1:17:11
know but just a whole new fair enough Detachment which I thought I thought yeah I thought it's a different spin
1:17:16
yeah I thought yeah I'm all right with that so um I think um I think I know we don't normally
1:17:22
grade them but I think I think a B+ for games where Shob for me from from this from this weekend I thought he did well
1:17:28
yeah yeah so cool just wait until I'm giving them an a it needs to be perfect
1:17:34
for an A+ I'm a yeah it's e
1:17:40
idiot a for alari oh a for alari a for alar yeah that's that was the joke well
1:17:47
done I'm not on it today at all am I not way behind um yeah oh bless so uh do you
1:17:54
want to tell us anything at all about your trip Journey yeah it was a weird
1:18:00
one Gan as my grandmother used to call it gallivanting around Germany so I went to form
1:18:08
next just be bear with me some's gone skew okay just
1:18:14
pause oh there we go what did you press I don't know I hit another box try it again Fade to Black oh FTB yeah oh
1:18:23
that's what that means yeah but they can still hear us
1:18:34
yeah all right we' he's had that for what three years and now he's figured out what the buttons mean so we try
1:18:41
we'll try again or keep it in don't so yeah so didn't see any of I think he should have just phon de up I
1:18:47
wish I had but he was dealing with enough stress trying to get to Monty and all the other places um not Monty uh m c
1:18:55
yeah but yeah so I booked it one person so then the wife went out for a night I thought I can do this so I went on a
1:19:01
website booked the flight and I was like right okay this was a weird one because the con was on Tuesday to Friday not the
1:19:08
usual over week so I thought I'll fly in Monday so I booked my flight and then on
1:19:13
another site I found a hotel and I was like brilliant both of them sent me via booking.com quickly check my dates and
1:19:19
everything was fine book through and then I realized oh no I've done it and they don't match so then I the only I
1:19:25
couldn't amend my flight I cancelled my flight and change and then had to rebook it for the Tuesday to the Sunday so it
1:19:33
matched my hotel but then literally on the Sunday before I flew on the Monday last week I realized why am I flying
1:19:39
back on the Sunday when it finishes on the Friday ah so that did my head in so
1:19:45
then we had to sort it out they wouldn't sort it out I had to fly out there then change it and it was yeah so so Ed if
1:19:53
you're watching in will you put the flights for me um cuz I'm an idiot so
1:19:58
yeah but we got it sorted and somebody got a free night in a hotel on me if they turned up and said hi I'm in room
1:20:04
115 um but yeah so it's it's form next in Messa Frankfurt um it's the it's the home of
1:20:13
additive manufacturing so I was like oh cool I got invited by a couple of the uh the
1:20:18
brands I've been working with and said oh will you come over and and do some filming and this sort of stuff I was
1:20:23
like yeah and then one of the meu asked me to do some talks uh which was terrifying there's a reason I normally
1:20:29
talk to you guys in a room and not in a hall full of people because I'm a wargamer and I am terrified of human
1:20:36
interaction so when put on a stage and told to talk to 200 people it's a little bit nerve-wracking so I just made a [ __ ]
1:20:42
imagine if we did the show for 200 people every week that'd be an interesting it's a bit different you know when you're in there in person
1:20:48
because like on the Internet it's easy you can be like people will troll you when you in person I've got so used to
1:20:54
like getting troll comments I was waiting for a review People review of my speech afterwards or or just like what
1:21:00
somebody mid speech just been like sh yeah exactly yeah just heckling you as
1:21:07
you're going on yeah stop going on about small printers being worse they are um
1:21:13
typically but yeah so and I walked in and the funniest thing is this was in this massive Hall um and I was getting a
1:21:20
message from this brand and that brand saying come and see us we're in Hall this we're in Hall that so I walked all the way through Hall one for an hour and
1:21:25
a half up and down every single thing and this is like all three Halls of adepticon is one hall and then I was
1:21:31
like [ __ ] it I can't find them they're messaging me went to Hall 12 which was out there across a road bear in mind
1:21:37
this is Halls 11 and 12 the whole complex was just what looked like
1:21:43
convention Halls it was crazy and all of it for the 3D printing uh not all of it only two halls for 3D printing but one
1:21:50
night I had to walk through it to get to a hotel for an event and it was like backstage at um like a a film studio
1:21:58
like Hollywood Studios or something because it was just loads of buildings with like parked cars but no one had
1:22:04
been there or used it or for ages so it was just dead midweek it was really
1:22:09
surreal and weird and eery um so then I walk around Hall 12 up and down 3 hours into the show and I'm looking at 3D
1:22:16
printers as big as rooms like no joke this thing was printing Concrete in the room and I was like I wonder if they
1:22:22
allow vaping in here cuz the amount of fuse these things are giving off um is
1:22:27
crazy um and yeah it was just seeing these things now there were a good chunk
1:22:32
of them were like little desktop scale machines that we use but then like the smallest thing beyond that was like the
1:22:39
strata sish machine I did that colar printing on which is oh yeah basically like a fridge so fridge was average
1:22:47
everything else was bigger than that it was insane I'm like this really isn't for us this isn't a 3D printing
1:22:53
convention this is manufacturing yeah like I'm there in my hoodie with my camera and my pocket go
1:23:01
three DJI pocket 3 brilliant by the way love it so good for Vlogs and I look
1:23:08
like an idiot everyone else is in business suits and I'm like I look like a TW I'm
1:23:13
just walking around talking to a camera um and like getting eyeballs from all these people I'm like I don't think I'm
1:23:19
in the right place I'm like I can't find you what's going off and they're like yeah no no we're in the upstairs in
1:23:24
thingy one I'm like upstairs what do you mean so then there's this
1:23:29
escalator then there's another escalator because there's a floor above the floor
1:23:35
so it turns out I it took me 3 hours just to walk around it looking at things then the things that I actually
1:23:42
wanted to look at that are relative to what we use in our hobby yeah were in two other rooms that size so I went
1:23:48
filming filming when I actually did my filming it took me 2 days just to do my filming notes and things like the idea I
1:23:55
like the idea you're looking for a bit where make where people print toy soldiers and you're walking past people who are looking at machines that build
1:24:01
builds for nuclear submarines yes yes genuinely was like there was this guy
1:24:06
this company that was showing how they built what looks like some kind of jet engine on a 3D print and they printed it
1:24:12
and it looked a mess but then they'd shown one that was half cleaned up and one that was finalized so they literally
1:24:18
printed the shell and then put it through some kind of CNC machine to to carve out of that material and then
1:24:26
finalized it by hand or some other machine so there were like three what looked like jet engines they probably
1:24:32
weren't but that sort of shape upside down cone next to each other like look how easy it is now is to make this I'm
1:24:38
like okay one of those machines please like Jesus Christ but I eventually found
1:24:43
the few people who were more in our wheelhouse and when I say that I'm talking printers from around
1:24:51
€5,000 down yeah so uh and they were companies like form laabs hay gears elu
1:24:57
any cubic uniformation they were all there I had a video to do with those guys and it was all like well what video
1:25:03
am I going to do while I'm here because it's completely not what I expected yeah and I was like I'm just going to have a
1:25:09
look and like get excited and talk about the future of Home printing cuz a lot of these applications give me ideas as to
1:25:15
how these things are going to like change in our homes okay um and we saw like fdm printing like prusser a big
1:25:22
well-known company have released or revealed the core one which is basically they've took a bed Slinger and turned it
1:25:28
into this sealed unit but then somebody to one side had taken that kit and put
1:25:33
it in like a wooden frame so it looks like a modern version of what we had in the '90s as a high-f five player that
1:25:39
you'd have in a cabinet but it's a 3D printer I'm like that actually oh that
1:25:44
actually shows a real application cuz the reason why you don't have a lot of these in homers they look [ __ ] and
1:25:50
you've got somebody having a go at you going you're not having that in the [ __ ] living room um so normally my
1:25:56
husband um but uh I'm just not assuming everybody out there has a wife who's nagging them just me this morning but
1:26:04
um yeah like but when you start getting these things and and we're now getting it to the point I think of refinement of
1:26:11
the hardware that we're really getting to a plateau or not a plateau but more of an equilibrium in what these things
1:26:17
can do making them more appealing and more like yeah they fit in your home
1:26:23
probably encouraging but yeah a manufacturing thing in your house that's the side of a fridge there's an
1:26:29
appliance yeah like you've got it you've got a fridge you've got a washing machine you've got a thing so we're seeing a lot more of that sort of could
1:26:35
print fridges I I guarantee there was something there that could print a fridge um you need the gas wouldn't you
1:26:43
yeah you 3D print the gas mate just get a get a gas bottle bottle of gas Pop It
1:26:49
On Top push push it through the system print out the gas into the thing you've just printed fantastic well it was funny
1:26:55
go just go saying the thing the other day that I don't think we spoke about this me and Pat spoke about it I think
1:27:01
where I felt like it was the beginning you know every now and again someone talks about something Tech tech-wise and
1:27:07
it feels like that's the beginning of something being in the future yeah and it was my customer Ben was in having his
1:27:14
haircuts and we were chatting about stuff and uh he said he'd had a uh Plum around I was trying to fix it must have
1:27:21
been his boiler was trying to fix something and he come back and he did the old sorry mate he said that's going
1:27:26
to need a new part and I haven't got one of them on the van he said I can order it be in a couple of days and then the
1:27:31
plumber went and gone a minute he went I'm got a 3D printer have you and Ben went no he went and he went why he went
1:27:37
he went strange things went well he said he had a 3D prin he said I've got the file on my phone and I could have just
1:27:43
got you printed out and i' have come back and got it off you later and he's and I just thought I know 3D printers
1:27:49
exist you tell me so much about them I'm fully aware of them but when when you
1:27:54
you plumber you know you get his hands dirty sort of guy you know digging deep into the back of a boiler turn I'm going
1:28:02
a 3D printer have you me I could just print that part that to me feels like the leaps into the future you know and
1:28:08
that will be more that way when people will come around we'll go I can I know what's wrong with that if you print out
1:28:14
this and when I come around you print it out I can just fit it for you you know fast enough if you can print that out
1:28:19
quick and I'll have a cou of tea while I'm waiting for you to print it out yeah you know you think it's them little things every now and again that's the
1:28:26
stuff that makes me yeah like like if if you like you're mechanic or something if
1:28:31
if however however many years down the line like oh it needs one of these oh how long until I get the part oh well I
1:28:36
might see if I can find one oh I'll just 3D print one you I remember being wilded when there was something broke on the International Space Station and they
1:28:43
built they they CED one at Nasa and then just sent the file and they printed one
1:28:49
up on the the International Space Station that's cool but when your plumber then asking you to do the same
1:28:55
thing yeah that application of of Technology just that's the leap for me
1:29:00
when it affects the real human being on the ground that's when it impresses me if I learned anything from this show
1:29:08
it's that 3D printing was not made for Miniatures no so there there's a couple of things I we're a happy offshoot
1:29:13
aren't we oh god without without a doubt like I would I would say that we're probably still the most dominant purchaser based but that's based on my
1:29:20
audience an audience that I've grown and cultivated by talking about specifically
1:29:25
the application of 3D printing models yeah but I I I still think I'm right
1:29:31
based on what I see online and within like the manufacturers groups and what you see getting printed if not
1:29:38
Miniatures then Miniatures statues and busts and pretty things rather than functional things in resin just think
1:29:44
just thinking then for a moment going slight do apologize to derail but go going back to that plumber you think
1:29:49
eventually the plumber will just have a 3D prin in the back of the van Buon why doesn't he have it already yeah like you
1:29:55
can but I mean youbody mean know when they get like can get them like you know to the like the size of like a house brick you can there's a guy called Uncle
1:30:01
Jesse who's been driving around when he got a a bamboo it was driving around and and it had it in the back of his Tesla
1:30:06
just driving around with it like and printing yes printing yeah because the thing is like a lot of
1:30:12
people talk about like how it the printer being on a level surface now unless your resin printer is on a
1:30:18
Surface that's 45° and it's spilling over the edge of the vat I don't think it matters that much that it's not level
1:30:24
because at the end of the day so long as the plate is level to the to the yeah and people have had these um fdm
1:30:31
printers hanging and suspended in M midair and spinning around the plate is still Level to to the device it's like a
1:30:39
relative levelness yeah nozzle that's what I'm after so yeah so it doesn't really matter you can literally drive
1:30:45
around and Print in your car you might get some vibrations but so long as it's functional but as I went round to
1:30:50
different brands we were talking about and there was there's one brand hey gears who are I've mentioned quite a Hot
1:30:55
Topic at the moment and I went up to them and went why don't you just let people use their own profiles and then
1:31:01
they imparted so much knowledge into my brain I was like I'm still trying to disseminate it now because I'm trying I
1:31:07
I naturally want to argue against it and I'm trying like my brain is like well they make sense but also no I don't like
1:31:14
it and I don't want it and and that's lost somewhere so I'm still trying to come to that but as I said to them they're like yeah look Miniatures is not
1:31:21
the only application like we come from a background of dental we do this we're trying to deliver an experience that
1:31:27
lets you print and the haar do you remember them orc not them orc vehicles from puppets war I brought in that was
1:31:32
that and you were like holy [ __ ] was exception um and that was nothing that
1:31:38
was literally drag drop Auto support print um but yeah I like talking to them
1:31:44
but then a few of them as as I started talking about this more like so what applications do you do and what do you see like what what is the biggest Market
1:31:51
cuz I was curious they're like oh no one wanted to commit to what the biggest Market was I don't think they
1:31:57
knew um and I don't think they've ever broken down their consumer demographics which is worrying but not unexpected
1:32:04
from these companies um they're like oh yeah yeah Miniatures is not the only
1:32:09
application I'm like okay so why are you promoting the majority of prints out
1:32:14
like next year printers being Miniatures then yeah cuz they look cool I guess yeah exactly so but it was mostly for
1:32:20
this sort of location it was mostly Dental um and like I said I did a couple of
1:32:25
speeches and and I wrote one which literally started with I didn't know what to say this isn't my usual audience
1:32:31
and I tried to be a bit more interactive and it was basically how the Miniatures
1:32:37
industry oh sorry how 3D printing is going to change the the Miniatures and board games industry because companies
1:32:44
like lot Studios who are releasing malediction that we saw at thingy you literally get cardboard standies in the
1:32:50
Box yeah or you can get a discount on buying the models um when you buy it you can then
1:32:57
get a discount code to buy the physical models or you can get the um the digital
1:33:03
things for free with that box maybe for free uh with that box and then download them yourself yeah and print them and
1:33:10
then it keeps the cost down so I did an example I did like a what if so imagine right so you you've played Monopoly
1:33:17
recently yeah imagine imagine unfortunately yeah yeah exact nobody wants to play it do they but like so did
1:33:23
like a bit of an interactive bit and when you play Monopoly and maybe this is one for the audience as well write down
1:33:29
in the comments when you play play Monopoly what piece do you want to play as the the boot okay you're the boot tog
1:33:36
okay so I I said for me the carot or a battleship it's boot yeah it's a boot a boot you're thinking German's confusing
1:33:43
you're thinking of Das Boot yeah so anyway um so I I tried to be
1:33:49
interactive and I said put your hands up if you cuz everyone was just like like don't care about games we care about
1:33:55
like they were scientists and doctors and technicians wow and I'm like and I'm
1:34:01
stood there talking about look at this model I painted I did that a 3D printer um but yeah my point was like put
1:34:07
everyone put your hands up if you've played Monopoly and it's like everyone did and I'm like yeah doctors do play Monopoly haha or have and I said all
1:34:14
right put your hands down if you didn't always want to play with the car and I was like okay brilliant seems like a
1:34:20
majority of you I want to be the car and the point is when you you play these games the tokens matter the physical
1:34:26
tokens do matter you've got a preference kind of like how um Tommy said you want
1:34:33
them painted yes yeah um or part of the imagery exactly yeah it's you know you want to be more invested in that thing
1:34:39
so you've got a preference as to what token you have and and how it matters to you and your amount of investment
1:34:45
differs I said but with 3D printing we could all be the car because you can just 3D print the piece or you could be
1:34:53
a car in a different color because we can just print them in different colors and it's sort of like that brought a lot
1:34:58
more of them round which was really really good and got the interaction and I even got to tout the show uh this
1:35:04
show the episode with um uh valon on it because I was talking
1:35:11
about these skills have previously been limited to wonderful and fantastic people like him but now we can you know
1:35:19
all share in the the the success of really skilled sculptors and print these models and customize pieces and that's
1:35:26
how it's going to dominate it and then at the end of it I was like so um interested how many of you here were
1:35:32
here to see me and how many of you were here for the eligo I got three people out of about 200 were there to see me I
1:35:38
then mentioned them giving away fre beers and that went up to about 12 weird that um were they were they
1:35:46
Miniatures of you no they were uh they were they weren't even that good they were oh but but to anyone who got one
1:35:52
there they were amazing um but no they were just little name badges with the with pins on with were
1:35:59
3D printed so just as a little make it just as a little token and um but yeah
1:36:04
like I really lost a lot of like not lost I really think I gained a lot of
1:36:10
the audience cuz I just kind of wanted to talk about how these things are impacting stuff and especially in the
1:36:15
consumer space because we do like all of these guys are going around going oh
1:36:20
well watch you this and watch you that and talking at high levels M of what printers do but the difference between a
1:36:27
consumer printer and and a and a desktop Dental printer I'm not seeing that much
1:36:35
other than the the main difference is these ones are dialed in for particular materials but on a raw Hardware level
1:36:43
I'm like really not seeing much of a difference guys so I think and this
1:36:49
reinforces the well no I'll come on to that but the um the interesting thing
1:36:54
was I was I got to say like look just because we are clowns and idiots and
1:37:00
people playing on our home doesn't mean we aren't stressing these machines to the nth degree because you're there
1:37:06
printing teeth and widgets and and headphones or headphone cases we're printing tiny little Miniatures that are
1:37:13
that big and we get upset if you can't see the guy's fingernail on a claw
1:37:20
properly so we are pushing these machines beyond their absolute limits
1:37:26
and it's not to be taken lightly and then I did a fun B I was like do does do any of you know 200 people do any of you
1:37:33
know how much the board games and toys industry turns over each year and everyone shook their heads and I was
1:37:38
like I'm gutted about that because I don't know either and I haven't got a slide ready for it um but yeah I'd
1:37:45
imagine it's lots and then had a graph with a line going up yeah um but like we're pushing these to the nth degree
1:37:51
and other people aren't so it's something that I was arguing for please
1:37:57
take us more seriously yeah like you are with other applications for the
1:38:03
technology because we're the ones who scrutinize it to the lowest level yeah you the the possibly on some levels we
1:38:11
are the best beta testers for what you can do aren't we we are definitely the beta testers a lot of the times yeah
1:38:16
yeah but yeah so seeing these what I was interested to find out that this isn't huge in China so China where the
1:38:23
majority of these machines come from in like a 200 mile radius in shenzen um and
1:38:29
again just the majority like these don't sell 3D printers don't sell I'm pointing at these these probably sell but yeah 3D
1:38:37
printers isn't huge it's very much uh um Western thing like America Europe um
1:38:44
huge as then aside um somebody was telling me that Warhammer is not massive
1:38:51
in China because perhaps as like a cultural thing don't know if it's true what I was told um
1:38:58
don't like rolling dice they would prefer like a card um like build a deck
1:39:04
kind of thing you know like a magic or or whatever oh um that's mad yeah yeah
1:39:10
so I say that's mad it's not it's I love rolling dice my favor yeah rolling dice so Warhammer in China isn't particularly
1:39:16
big at all all right dead easy fix that stacks of cards each one of them has 1 2 3 four five or six and then you pick a
1:39:23
random card from each deck yeah um but yeah oh that's crazy uh the board games Market alone in 2023 is valued at
1:39:30
approximately 12 12.4 billion do yes and that's just board game you see that
1:39:35
scientists doctors and technicians and smart people I was talking about important
1:39:41
[ __ ] with 12 something billion I wasn't it's estimated to grow to 18.68%
1:39:48
[Music]
1:39:53
12 billion last year 18 this year potentially [ __ ] that's and I was saying that's just based off some of the things
1:39:59
that Pat's been buying games so then a good journey
1:40:07
worth going it was really good it it was fantastic I got to meet a lot of the teams that I I mean I was worried
1:40:12
because I've been slating these companies products for the last two years but everyone was so incredibly
1:40:17
friendly but I'd imagine they' have to be because they don't want me to it's not case SL it's a case of being
1:40:24
critical where it's your job to be critical it's your job to be critical and no I'm just a shill don't forget I'm going to get a
1:40:31
t-shirt that says shill but I'm going to get a brand name I'm going to be like uniformation shill elu shill and he so
1:40:37
every time I do a video well yeah but it is you know and if something you know if something
1:40:43
doesn't work as good as a do you know you're it's how you make your livelihood
1:40:49
is talking about how these things work almost but yeah no that's it and I don't want to I don't ever want to [ __ ] on a
1:40:55
brand just for the I will never [ __ ] on a brand just for the sake of [ __ ] on a brand I want them all to do better
1:41:01
yeah like my my ideal is when they're all at that top level competing but you know I want I want the
1:41:08
videos to be helpful not only for the audience so that they can make better buying choices but also for the brands
1:41:14
so that they can see okay yeah fair enough we we probably need to step up in that area cool so but yeah I think it
1:41:21
it's interesting the way it's going I think the the summary I got from it is
1:41:26
the future of 3D printing is going to be simplifying it and and there are other
1:41:32
ways to do it than I'd previously understood whether they work out or not
1:41:38
I don't know so right now you've got a 3D printer I set it up for you it's easy for you you've got the resin you've got
1:41:44
the settings it was done you literally drag drop print yeah but most people are like a settings and blah blah now
1:41:49
there's there's this hey gears way and form laabs I saw form la s which is like
1:41:55
triple the price of a hay gears and oh my God it was just lovely Hardware it
1:42:00
was just nice to look at so um that was good but then there's another company called Athena coming along and they're
1:42:07
doing it differently as well cuz I've always said well you don't like hay gears for their proprietary resin but
1:42:13
how else could they do it because if you start doing oh you can use any resin on
1:42:18
a hay gears then that you don't get the main benefit of a hay gears in that it's dialed in for you yeah um and the next
1:42:26
best one to that is a form laabs which is four grand and the rest yeah so it
1:42:32
it's how much is a he gear a grand okay yeah a grand to 14400 depending on the
1:42:38
model I think right um but cheaper now on Black Friday um but the um which
1:42:45
we've just missed by the time this goes out potentially but Black Friday is like almost two weeks long now isn't it it's
1:42:52
been the last two weeks and it's not until this Friday and it'll be in Black Friday again for another week after yeah will but um but yeah this company called
1:42:59
Athena who uh a guy called vman did a review last year and they did a Kickstarter the kickstarter succeeded
1:43:07
but they had quality issues from the parts coming from China so instead of
1:43:13
just shipping them out this is a us or Canadian company instead of just shipping those printers out and letting
1:43:18
customers deal with it they tweaked and corrected every machine before it was shipped so they made I believe every
1:43:24
single one of their backers whole but it cost so much to do that that they never got to release it as a product well
1:43:29
they're coming but I think that's the most honorable way to deal with a Kickstarter really good way of doing it
1:43:35
um well they're back now with Athena 2 or Athena Pro and what they've done is
1:43:41
you don't do any of the profiles for you can use your own resin you don't do any
1:43:46
of the profiles on the printer on the slicer the software they're all built
1:43:51
into the printer so if you've got a one they'll have the profile for you if you don't have a profile you tell it I've
1:43:59
got a new resin it then on the printer itself says we're going to run you through some tests it runs you through
1:44:05
the tests tells you how to read those tests you then put the numbers back in
1:44:11
and it then builds a profile for you and feeds that back to the server to say
1:44:18
this resin is this then as you're printing cuz it's got pressure sensing it can detect success and failure and
1:44:25
based on that data it can dynamically improve and tweak the resin so basically
1:44:31
it's going to be open for everyone okay yeah so you're not locked down okay but
1:44:37
you also get the benefit or you also get the benefit of it should have the settings for you but if it doesn't it'll
1:44:46
tell it will walk you through how to dial it in cool boom that's brilliant so so that
1:44:53
that making things easy as the future making well that's what I've said before all I want to do with my 3D printer is
1:44:59
pour the resin in go on my phone buy the toy press print and then it I don't have
1:45:05
to do anything else other than take it out when it's all done and I want the one machine to clean a UV I saw that as
1:45:12
well that that was there there was a machine like a com not like a comi wash machine yeah that's why I want that just
1:45:18
the one machine that a washer and dryer yeah and and people have have said they've got these before there was a
1:45:24
scam company called um I forget ultr print um that scammed a load of people
1:45:30
on Kickstarter uh out of money but they said we've got a washer curer so basic but the way you would do it is you'd
1:45:36
print the model then after you printed the model you had to wash it somewhere else then you brought it back in you had
1:45:41
to cover the vat and cover everything and then it it basically just had the lights in the printer which is like no
1:45:48
don't do that um but there was literally a machine that print it then when it was
1:45:54
printed the vat would slide into a side thing and a shutter would come down to block light out it would then dip down
1:46:01
into a into a vat of isopropanol clean itself come up blow dryers would dry it
1:46:07
like a car wash and then it would cure both the the resin that's in the vat and the model it then turned around like
1:46:14
this dropped it down and a door came up and you can take and then it carried on with it next print waiting for you to
1:46:21
take that print out like a vending machine yeah that's where that's where I need to be that's that's 30 grand if you
1:46:28
want one now yeah I'll I'll maybe wait on a couple years to see if it comes down in price but it's possible like and
1:46:34
that's what blew me away this time is like okay everyone's like I don't want a 3D printer I don't want this oh and the
1:46:40
best thing was it was a fully enclosed system that was stood on a base that constantly circulated the air with um a
1:46:49
VOC meter on it to detect any volatile or compounds um and would continually
1:46:55
circulate so it wouldn't open up until that was clear oh bril yeah so cool that's very interesting yeah so it's
1:47:02
like that that's the future of printing it's so will you will you go again next year 100% oh let you go then so job well
1:47:09
done yeah if either you want to come let me know cool right then have we got anything else before we finish up um
1:47:16
well I mean we've we've referenced it my kilting St set finally arrived and um I
1:47:23
yeah yeah like I had a wonderful time uh building those Miniatures I had the only
1:47:29
tool I had was a nail file um so it's like the snap snap off
1:47:34
like push fit um Miniatures so easy to do and just really really fun I think
1:47:42
the quality of the Miniatures is great obviously like your Miniatures they're wonderful yeah they're fantastic you
1:47:47
can't you know all the shoulder pads are like molded on and stuff already so you're not going to be able to
1:47:53
you know have a a death watch like uh kill team or what have you or maybe you
1:47:58
could but you'd have to do quite a lot of converting and all that sort of thing but I I just think as a as a set are you
1:48:05
have you figured out who you're going to do as Marine who the Marines are going to be
1:48:11
um I really I I think I should probably do them as something that I haven't done
1:48:16
before so be if either like Raptors maybe blood angels um or like the um
1:48:24
I've done like a test model like the blood Angel um alarus like transfering over kind of thing I think that would be
1:48:30
quite fun to do on like a small team um I think the death guard are amazing oh
1:48:37
yeah um all the like I get the um the uh the the limitations of it I.E
1:48:47
they're monopose Miniatures but they're in really cool poses I think
1:48:53
the pose on that great full on Gunslinger mode great it's fantastic so
1:48:59
they are monopose I don't care that they are I think they're amazing they're a joy to build it was so unbelievably easy
1:49:07
I'd love it if uh if Workshop did more stuff like that I think it would be great um I built my Fallout factions box
1:49:14
recently as well and interestingly cuz like the side by side The Fallout
1:49:20
factions Miniatures are actually a very similar height oh um they're just
1:49:25
slender proportions are just like super slender they they look like humans but um they were there was 10 minutes just
1:49:33
per team and they took they took me forever to build oh really just cuz I I
1:49:39
very multi part aren't they they yeah you generally have like a body of torso two arms and a head kind of thing but
1:49:46
like the connecting points like like these cuz they're bigger chunkier of Miniatures you know have got you push
1:49:52
for it like your pegs and everything like that but um The Fallout factions it's kind of like right well there's a
1:49:58
little nub on the shoulder and there's a corresponding nub and when you dry fit it you can kind of feel it and it's all
1:50:04
right yeah but when you um put some glue on there and it just slips around all over the place yeah um so I found them
1:50:10
quite tricky um and and quite fiddly whereas these just a joy um I had a
1:50:15
blast so and then uh there's a few there's a few gaps to like if you really want to be perfect there's a few gaps to
1:50:22
fill but and I love I love every one comes with Helmet or not helmet yes yes
1:50:28
and every single one of them is unique Dynamic it stands out like the the
1:50:34
Grenadier who's actually pulled the pin yeah and then then you've got like the guy holding the big what that plague
1:50:41
spewer that that's gorgeous my favorite one is the guy with like the half or really thin half skull head with the
1:50:47
horn and then he's got all the skulls down his shoulder pad but cool I think the thing like what I want to do and
1:50:52
I've tried this a few times and if anyone's who's watching has got a good tutorial oh no one's watching now I've
1:50:58
just talked about 3D printers for 20 minutes I'll I'll put the time codes in people skip over they can skip that
1:51:03
that's good um but yeah um just title that part skip this section um but uh
1:51:10
the guy yeah and stuff like that but if anyone out there's got a really good like mix of air Brushy dry Brushy uh
1:51:18
painty Army painter guide for what's now called the palad hand paint scheme the
1:51:23
cre the original Cream models with the shoulder pads whether it's 40K or I'd love to see it on some death guard but
1:51:29
the modern death card but yeah like that's my favorite scheme yeah it's gorgeous everything you may best place
1:51:35
to get one of them might be to tap into um tap into what some people are playing in um in Horus heresy yeah that's what I
1:51:42
mean yeah yeah yeah yeah I think Rich gr did I think Rich grade did quite a nice uh scared Yeah well yeah I generally get
1:51:49
scared whenever I see any of his stuff yeah like as much as love it and interestingly as well like the book that
1:51:55
you get with this like I haven't played kilton before me and Jeff ran through like the the first scenario and it's
1:52:00
very very hold really holds your hand is super holdy handy walk you through it um
1:52:07
really like like essentially like it's mapped out the first engagement for you and it's just like roll some dice um
1:52:15
which like obviously if you if you're an experienced gamer there's no point of you doing that but like we've all raved
1:52:21
about the product before we got it yeah um and I think now that I have it I think it's even better
1:52:28
than I thought it was I think this is really really good I would like to see and and that like when holding your hand
1:52:35
through a through a thing like it's very good I think it's very good that they've done a starter set as well as the like
1:52:43
the the big box that we got which I forgot the name hi storm um The Big Box
1:52:48
we got before was brilliant for the new players who were in it are like yeah if I'm going to get and you've got some mates then then get this it's a good
1:52:55
starter box but when you're making a starter set of a game this is how you do it and and it's the models for me more
1:53:03
than anything where they are easy to build and easy to pop off and this detailed anybody who gets into Warhammer
1:53:10
through this will I it kind of goes on the point you
1:53:16
were making not last week the week before where you were saying like it almost leads you into a false sense of
1:53:23
wow and I think it does that in the quality because these models are so good for the price that when you get the next
1:53:29
set of well plague Marines are always awesome but when you go like to some basic Space Marines you might be like oh
1:53:35
it's more expensive and they're not as good maybe yeah or like to be fair in
1:53:42
yeah in the book um they sort of go like oh there's loads of other kill teams you
1:53:47
can collect so I think their sort of train of thought is let's keep you in Kill team and and and go for you know
1:53:53
your scout squad or F Boss Mar whatever on the next episode we may well try and play it might we yeah I think we should
1:54:00
yeah sadly not you know you're off doing cool stuff right in York yeah well I'm a
1:54:06
big fan of that place so you know go to um make sure you visit Whit wat mgate
1:54:12
Whitmore watma gate yeah that's a road called I've pronounced that a lot easier than what Serge had me pronounced in
1:54:18
that time so Whit more W mgate okay wh more and I I think it's like or it was I think the shortest Road in England um at
1:54:26
the time it's like it's minuscule is this like kind is it a place I drive or is it a place no so so it's um it's just
1:54:33
at like the start of the is it the ramble the Sham the Sham okay um like
1:54:39
just at the like just before you go into the shambles like at the opposite end to where the minster is right um there's a
1:54:46
the tiny little road and it has a road sign so you get a picture with it and go LOL England and then carry on with your
1:54:51
life right so that's fair sounds good right then y anyone anyone got anything
1:54:58
else no I don't think so you no I want to get to bed right then grab five dice
1:55:04
each and let's get going all right see you soon everyone bye byee thank you to patrons and all that wonderful stuff oh
1:55:11
no oh
