Biden Administration Caught With $3 Billion Error - CNN Host Grills Them

grow. You know how if you lose a $20 bill, it really bothers you? It affects your day, right

You're like, where'd I put that $20 bill? Where'd it go? Well, imagine you're the United States

government and you lost, I don't know, $3 billion and it's somebody else's money. Ours

The taxpayers? Well, if that happened, I guess you just shrug it off because that's what the

government did. You see, Jake Tapper interviewed Jake Sullivan today, Biden's national security

advisor, and Sullivan explained when he got grilled by Tapper that, yeah, the government

misplaced or misallocated $3 billion, but it's not that big of a deal. Oh, and it gets even better

Wait till you hear what they're going to do with it. Let's take a look. You were talking about aid to Ukraine a minute ago. There was this very bizarre

admission from the Pentagon this week of an accounting error that suggested that the U.S

has at least $3 billion that it didn't know it had that it can use for Ukraine aid. That's a

hell of an accounting error. And it provides a lot of fodder to critics of U.S. aid to Ukraine

and critics who say there's not enough oversight going on. Are you concerned about this accounting

error? Well, one thing I just want to make clear, that is not money that went out the door and

disappeared. That is not a waste of that $3 billion. It is simply a tally of how much military

equipment we have given them. And the way that the Pentagon was counting it was what's the

replacement cost for the equipment we provide rather than just the actual cost of that equipment

Once you make that adjustment, it turns out we have an additional $3 billion that we can spend

to provide even more weapons to Ukraine. And at the end of the day, not one penny of U.S. dollars

will have gone missing or had been misallocated. It will all be provided in the form of equipment

to Ukraine on the battlefield. But of course, it would be better to get it right in terms of

the accounting upfront. In the end, though, the Pentagon discovered the error. The Pentagon

corrected the error and Ukraine will get what it needs. And the American taxpayer will be able to

be confident that this money is being spent effectively and appropriately. Hey, great news

We found $3 billion more dollars that we thought we spent, but we didn't really spend. What's the

best thing we can do with it? Well, let's send it back to Ukraine. I mean, that's where we thought

it was, right? So let's just send it there. Yeah, we're approaching the debt ceiling. Yeah

things are tight for Americans. Sure, there's homeless people on the streets of San Francisco

children starving in America. How many meals can we provide? How many shelters can we provide for

$3 billion? Yeah, let's send bombs to Ukraine. That's what's really important here

You know, it's maddening. It's maddening what they do with the taxpayer's money. And

to see them continue to do it and to see them really not get grilled, why didn't Jake Tapper

say, hey, well, since you got the extra $3 billion, why not allocate it for something else

Nope. I'm going to send it to Ukraine. More money for Ukraine. Hey, our southern border's

wide open, but you know what? Ukraine's border is what matters. That's what matters here. Let's

send it there. The incompetence of losing it to begin with, and then the audacity to say

well, we found it. We're going to send it overseas. It's just insanity. It's insanity on steroids

That is this administration in a nutshell. That whole scenario is this administration in a
