Now, if you're like me, you are so tired, so exhausted, so furious with the race card being played

for everything. Even when things don't make sense and blatantly don't make sense

the race card is played. Now, Iona Presley did exactly that in his speech before Congress

See, her contention, her anger, was that Walgreens was moving out of certain

neighborhoods. Now, these neighborhoods tend to be black and brown. And the reason

that Walgreens gave, and I'll tell you what, this is an insane reason. And the Walgreens should be ashamed of themselves

The reason Walgreens gave is they were tired of getting robbed. Now I don know There a few answers to this conundrum One let not defund the police and let have them do their jobs in these communities That one answer

Another answer might be, let's just have Walgreens and all these businesses stay in these areas

and continue to get robbed and continue to lose money because, hey, they don't want to be called racist

That's an option. Or, and hear me out on this, this is a crazy idea

stop stealing maybe if you stop stealing the businesses will stay I know this is crazy

this is a crazy concept folks but just maybe just perhaps if you go into a store guys

what I'm going to say to you is going to be controversial and crazy but I want you to hear me

and then I want you to give me your opinions on it after this video But this might just be crazy enough to work

You hear me out. Hear the whole thing first before you decide

You go into a store, get your little basket or your little shopping cart, whatever you get

And you put items into this thing. Then and here the key you go to the checkout counter and pay for the items Then the store makes a profit

and then they use that profit to hire other people in the community

to give them gainful employment so that they may also contribute to the economy

Now, a side effect of this might be that the neighborhood starts to look better

and people start to make more money and it revitalizes the neighborhood and communities grow and generational

wealth is built and then people start their own businesses. Wacko concept I know, but I think, I think this just might be crazy enough to work

Now, that's me. You know, look, don't go by me. I may be wrong on this, but I feel that it has merit

So I want you to listen in Ms. Presley's speech, Representative Presley's speech, and then I want you to give me your opinion on it

We love you guys God bless you Take care everybody Mr Speaker Walgreens is planning to close yet another pharmacy in the Massachusetts 7th this time on Warren Street in Roxbury a community that is 85 black and Latino

This closure is a part of a larger trend of abandoning low-income communities like the previous

closures in Matapan and Hyde Park, both in the Massachusetts 7th. When a Walgreens leaves a neighborhood, they disrupt the entire community and they take with

them, baby formula, diapers, asthma inhalers, life-saving medications, and of course, jobs

These closures are not arbitrary and they are not innocent. They are life-threatening acts of racial and economic discrimination

That is why I joined with Senator Markey and Warren to demand answers from Walgreens CEO

Why was there no community input, no adequate notice to customers, and no transition

resources to prevent gaps in health care? Shame on you, Walgreens. Having a website with talking points about health equity and underserved communities is not enough

Walgreens is a multi-billion dollar corporation that needs to put their money where their mouth is

and stop divesting from black and brown communities
