Game Changing Move In Trump Case - New Witness Shakes Trial

Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America, and federal prosecutors

have made a new and more vicious move against former President Donald Trump than I had anticipated

We love you guys, and we thank you for it. So Jack Smith is calling on, or at least contacting, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp

Now Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, of course, is a Republican governor, and he wants him

maybe to testify in the case against Trump, or at least give him some information as it

regards what they're saying was Trump's attempt to overturn the election in 2020

Now a lot of people have called it that, and the media calls it that, because if you

say something long enough, people believe that it's just true without looking at the facts

However, in order to really call it an attempt to overturn the election, you have to actually

go to court and get convicted of an attempt to overturn the election

That hasn't happened here. So they're trying to try the case, a lot of the media is trying to try the case in the

court of public opinion before Smith even takes it to actual court

So here's where I see an issue for the former president. Jack Smith has also contacted Doug Ducey, the governor of Arizona, and basically what

he wants to get them on board with is, hey, did Trump pressure you to change the results

in your state? Here's where I think Trump made some strategic errors

Attacking Brian Kemp was not wise. Brian Kemp is super popular in the state of Georgia

Even with Trump attacking him, he walked into another victory for the governorship over

Stacey Abrams in a landslide. Now part of that's due to him being popular, and another part of that's due to Stacey Abrams

being very unpopular. But he still walked to victory, so that I think strategically was a mistake that actually

could have cost him Georgia in 2020. But another thing is you've made an enemy now

You've made an enemy out of somebody who was a friend, and now they might want to try

to hurt you, and they can use Jack Smith to do it. That's my concern

Now what I pray is that Governor Kemp does the right thing and just testifies what the

truth is. Whatever that truth is, just testify the truth. Just say the truth, and that should be it

What I don't want to happen is him using this as a way to kind of get rid of his grudge

or kind of dig into his grudge with Trump, even though Trump fought with him too

It's not the right thing to do. So I pray that he just does whatever the right thing is in this situation

So I certainly don't want him to lie for Trump, but I don't want him to lie against Trump. I just want him to tell the truth, and I think that's all any of us can expect

Now what Jack Smith does with that truth, that's going to be up for debate

Obviously he wants to get this guy and nail him to the wall. We all know that

This could be a game changer for the case, however, and it's a really big step to call

a governor to get involved in the case. The governor's office wouldn't say in what capacity they were contacted, but to call
