Hey ladies and gentlemen, this is Carmine Sabia for Explain America and there is a major
0:04
massive development in the Trump-Stormy Daniels case. A judge has made a last minute, 11th hour decision that will absolutely affect the case
0:12
going forward. Before we get started, please make sure you like, comment, share and subscribe

Those little things really help us out and they help our channel continue to grow

An appeals judge has struck down President Donald Trump's attempt to delay the trial
0:29
Trump had several reasons for delaying the trial but one of them was presidential immunity
0:35
He wanted to wait until the Supreme Court weighed in on the issue of presidential immunity
0:39
before this trial would begin. But the judge has smacked down that idea and said absolutely not, he will not do it
0:47
And so here we are, jury selection is about to begin and we've gotten a look at some of
0:52
the really weird questions jurors are being asked about in this case
0:57
And I want you guys to take a look at this and listen to what the jurors are being asked
1:01
and I want you to tell me what you think about it. Is it fair
1:06
It's tough to say, it really is tough to say. It looks like, well, you know what, I won't say anything, I'll let you guys decide
1:12
I want you to watch this video and let me know what you think. As always, please remember to like, comment, share and subscribe

I'm Carmine Sabia for Explain America. We love you guys. God bless you

Take care everybody. Final days of the election. She wants it to start in August
1:28
So let's get straight to Paula Reid on the breaking news tonight. And Paula, you've gotten these jury instructions and the criminal trial in New York that they
1:36
refer to is starting in just six days, even though he is trying one more Hail Mary after
1:42
another here to try to delay it. Yeah, trying unsuccessfully today that New York appeals court judge rejecting this last
1:49
minute effort to pause the trial. Trump continues to try to argue that this should be moved out of Manhattan
1:55
The Trump lawyers argue that pre-trial publicity is making it impossible to get a fair trial
2:01
But prosecutors, Aaron, they said, look, it's too late to do something like that
2:05
And the way we will weed out biased jurors is through jury selection
2:09
And that's where the jury questionnaire comes in. And you look through this, the questions, some of them are similar to the questions
2:15
we saw during jury selection in the E. Jean Carroll case. They ask where jurors get their news
2:21
They ask if they or anyone close to them has ever worked for Trump or attended a Trump rally
2:27
They also ask about membership in extremist groups like the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers
2:33
No, again, these are questions that we have seen before. Then they get more specific about this case, about feelings, about Trump himself
2:42
This is the process, Aaron, that prosecutors insist will help them weed out anyone who
2:46
has a bias. No question I'm getting a lot is how long is this going to take
2:50
Remember, in this case, it's only four days in a trial week because court is off on Wednesdays
2:54
We also have a couple of religious holidays over the next few weeks. So this process of selecting a jury for this, the first criminal prosecution of former President
3:02
Trump could take a few weeks, could take a few weeks just for the jury to be selected
3:07
All right. Very significant. Paula, thank you very much. Paula, breaking this news and obtaining this questionnaire as well
3:12
Out front now, Ben Ginsberg, the longtime Republican election lawyer, Harry Sandick
3:16
former assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, and Estad Herndon, national
