Hi, it's the Broker That Gratitude guy, Christmas Eve
0:04
Of course, we have the holidays upon us. We just passed Thanksgiving, such a great time to think about being grateful
0:09
And now we're at Christmas Eve, and then tomorrow, of course, is Christmas, and then New Year's around the corner
0:15
But I thought about Christmas Eve, about how it's such another example of a time
0:19
to be really grateful for our family, and for our friends, and our health, and as we reflect back on the year that's just passed
0:25
and about a new one about to start. But it also reminded me of how we can sometimes
0:29
kind of get out of whack sometimes, and this is why I'm such an advocate of a gratitude journal, to kind of remind us all the time
0:35
of everything we're grateful for, versus worrying so much about what we don't have
0:38
in our life or are not grateful for, I guess. I realized when I was younger, my parents were divorced
0:44
and as it got around Christmas time, I was married. We had about five or six different places to go
0:48
and there was the aunts, and the uncles, and my in-laws, and my mom's side, my dad's side
0:54
and they were each married again, and so forth. I remember kind of complaining at the time
0:59
wow, this is kind of a hassle, we have to get all these different presents, and different boxes, and everything
1:04
But even back then, of course I was a lot younger, I started thinking about how, oh, let's not complain
1:09
you may be in a situation sometime where you have no place to go. Sure enough, flash forward about 20 or 30 years later
1:15
my parents are long since passed on, and so forth, and different situations where I ended up on a Christmas Eve
1:21
this very day, no place to go. And I remember thinking, how did this happen
1:26
I used to have so many different places to go, but I was so grateful for those times
1:30
and just use that as a reminder to remember there's always those things that
1:34
we have people that are more fortunate, less fortunate, and everywhere in between, but if you constantly focus
1:39
on everything you're grateful for, you'll always have it reframed, and refocused
1:43
in the right frame of mind, and that's the most important thing of all. Be grateful on this Christmas Eve
1:48
we'll have another video tomorrow on Christmas Day, but be thinking about that, and all the great things you have in your life
1:53
as we get ready to celebrate Christmas tomorrow. That's it for today, we'll see you tomorrow
1:57
Have a grateful day
