Deep wreck diving requires you to have gear that you understand in a configuration that meets your requirements. In this video I show my Closed Circuit Rebreather and explain decisions that I have made with the configuration. These include extra elements of redundancy and tweaks to improve my safety.
At the core, it's an AP Diving XPD (Inspiration) in a G-box case but with non-standard Manual Add Valves (MAVs) in a setup that meets my requirement

the classic advice for choosing a

rebreather is to use the same rebreather

as the people around you now everybody

not quite everybody but certainly when I

started the majority of people uh around

me were diving and inspiration and that

was fantastic because it meant I had

this whole pool of support all these

people who knew the little nuances could

and obviously provide advice and

expertise the great thing about the

Inspiration is it has been going forever

it's pretty much the first mass market

ECR ECCR and they've been upgraded

continuously ever since so they're

always adding uh new bits of capability

most notably uh five or six years ago

the handset changed from being being a

grayscale one to being a color one and

that was a fantastic improvement loads

of other things and it's in continuous

there are certainly uh more advanced

probably ones that have features about

the that have been uh that are on the

hand inspiration is absolutely tried and

tested it's whatever dives you want to

level of uh proven ability is something

reality is that the inspiration you can

diving the AP is very very competitively

priced so uh there's a few reasons i

said you should buy this rebreather or

given you a few things to consider and I

think probably the most important one is

the one that I started with so it's the

are loads of people around you diving
