Iraqi Seafood Feast in Nasiriya Iraq! Iraqi Food Mountain!
Jul 29, 2025
Join me as my journey through Iraq takes me to the southern city of Nasiriyah for a taste of ancient Mesopotamian cuisine! At Chef Ali Sido’s restaurant, I tried mahrotha, a rare and traditional dried fish dish that’s nearly impossible to find outside Iraqi homes. The dish, made with dried fish, tomatoes, and spices, dates back to ancient Mesopotamia and was bursting with flavor!
After a delicious meal, we explored the ancient city of Ur, home to the iconic Ziggurat of Ur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built in the 21st century BC. From history to food, this part of Iraq is an unforgettable treasure!
