Woodturning: Turning Pine Cones into Gold

In this week’s video, I will be turning some pine cones into a mini hybrid vase with the help of some epoxy resin. Once the pine cones were placed into the mould, I moved onto preparing the resin. Mix up a batch of blue and gold resin and let it set on the side for several hours. This was to reduce the chance of blending the two colours as I wanted some visible colour separation. The blank came out perfect and was ready to be turned on my lathe. Finished with two layers of coating epoxy resin for high gloss premium finish.
