Homogeneous material means, the identical particles that exist throughout the material, and isotropic means the physical properties of the materials which are identical in all directions. Boundary conditions - The boundary conditions fall under the following idealized cases only: (i) Free end - Since the free end of a structure can have linear or rotational displacement in any direction, therefore, no reaction is developed at the free end.
