Motor finance: A timeline of the legal saga so far

You might be wondering what the Supreme Court ruling on Motor Finance is all about and where this high-profile case comes from in the first place. It started with three individuals who brought legal action against Close Brothers and South African FirstRand Bank over secret commissions in their motor finance arrangements. Amy Hopcraft sued Close Brothers, while Marcus Johnson and Andrew Wrench sued FirstRand Bank. Originally, each of these cases, like many more, was issued to local courts around England.
