As many as 50,000 junior doctors – now known as resident doctors – are three days into a strike called by the British Medical Association. The strike could hit the UK economy with a £13m bill as the BMA calls for a 29 per cent pay rise. That’s according to the Centre for Economics and Business Research, which says that over five days the strike will cost £64m in total.
