now the the Chief Justice of the
0:01
Pennsylvania Supreme Court Deborah Todd
0:03
made the announcement last night that
0:05
the court website had been hit by a
0:07
Cyber attack now large portions of the
0:10
site while it appears to be functional
0:12
if you go to the site it will at least
0:14
open up on the front but once you try to
0:16
actually access it that's when the
0:18
problems begin now Todd said last night
0:21
that large portions of the site were
0:23
unavailable due to what they're calling
0:24
a denial of service Cyber attack that
0:27
differs from a ransomware attack now the
0:30
denial of service attack is when
0:32
somebody floods a network with traffic
0:34
until either the target site can't
0:36
respond or the site crashes to prevent
0:38
access for legitimate users and Todd
0:41
also said there's no indication that
0:42
there's been any data that's been
0:44
compromised in the Cyber attack now the
0:46
Cyber attack is affecting the web
0:48
services the really important things on
0:50
this website such as the pack file
0:51
electronic filing system the online
0:54
court dockets are hard to get to or
0:56
unavailable the pae pay system where
0:59
people will pay f for such things as
1:00
speeding tickets or other online costs
1:03
that's moving slowly as well and the
1:05
guardianship tracking system is also
1:08
down because of this Cyber attack now
1:10
the Chief Justice said that the
1:11
Commonwealth's it cyber security Force
1:14
along with the Department of Homeland
1:15
Security and the FBI are currently
1:17
investigating what's happening with this
1:19
website remember you can go to the site
1:22
and you may be able to attempt to get
1:23
through but it's going to take a really
1:25
long time for you to be able to access
1:27
anything if you can make it on there at
1:29
all of course going to continue to keep
1:30
an eye on this throughout the rest of
1:32
the morning
