the White House is warning Governors
0:01
across the country to beef up their
0:03
cyber security after hackers recently
0:06
attacked several cities Water Systems
0:08
joining me tonight is Roger Kohler Chief
0:10
information security officer at Huntress
0:13
Roger thanks for joining us tonight yeah
0:16
thank you for having me so hacking
0:18
incidents at Water facilities how
0:21
vulnerable are they and what is the
0:23
concern here is it about the drinking
0:26
itself yeah absolutely there's uh
0:29
Department of Homeland security actually
0:30
set up a uh uh agency uh cyber security
0:33
and infrastructure Security Agency uh
0:36
many years ago to kind of go after some
0:37
of these things with the critical
0:39
infrastructure and water is one of those
0:41
things that they've uh really kind of
0:43
looked at and as you know in Detroit
0:46
there's a lot of issues in 2014 with
0:48
billing and all sorts of issues and so
0:50
this is really where a lot of these
0:52
systems have uh uh Bridge their
0:56
information technology networks with
0:57
their operational technology think like
1:00
billing with how you how you control it
1:02
so you can measure and build those
1:03
things and that's really opened up a lot
1:05
of vulnerabilities where uh uh they're
1:07
really concerned about right now
