0:01
This is day 30, the final day of the
0:04
mixed media craft card challenge that I
0:07
set. So, it's the last card we're going
0:08
to be sharing. If you want to find all
0:10
the others, they'll be in the
0:11
description below, playlist shown on the
0:13
screen, wherever. You can just go and
0:15
look on my channel. So, it's the last
0:17
one and this one specially for my mom.
0:20
So, if you want to join me, let's get
0:22
started and make one of these.
0:24
You're going to need a piece of card
0:26
folded in half or a card blank as your
0:28
basic card. Mine's 7 in x 5 in, but you
0:32
can make any size you like. And then you
0:34
want some pretty papers. And that's all
0:36
we're using here really. And you can see
0:38
some pens if you want to draw on it. So
0:40
I quite like to rip my papers up by
0:43
putting a metal ruler on it and just
0:45
pulling along and you get a really nice
0:48
edge. Just gives it a bit more interest.
0:51
That's all. Obviously, you could just
0:53
get the scissors out and cut nice neat
0:55
rectangles, but the whole concept of
0:58
this card is built on lots of different
1:00
rectangles, different sizes, and just
1:03
glued in place. All I'm using is an
1:06
ordinary glue stick. So, you've probably
1:08
got one in your drawer somewhere, and
1:11
it's a great way of using up those
1:13
little bits of paper that you keep
1:15
because you know they're going to be
1:16
useful. You know, you're going to use
1:18
them up, but you can end up with quite a
1:20
stack of them. And this is a great way
1:22
to get creative and enjoy using them.
1:25
You can see here I've got some scraps of
1:28
um handmade paper with a bit more
1:29
texture. So, I've cut that with scissors
1:32
cuz it'll not rip along the ruler quite
1:34
so well or at least I don't find it
1:35
does. So, I'm just putting my rectangles
1:39
um all in the same direction if you
1:41
like. I'm not doing them at jaunty
1:43
angles. They're either vertical or
1:45
horizontal, but you can experiment and
1:47
do what you like. But if you stick to
1:49
the same sort of color palette and just
1:51
rectangles, you can't go wrong. It will
1:56
Now, if you don't have a ready supply of
1:58
scraps of paper left over, you can
2:01
always get papers that coordinate by
2:03
just getting one of these little
2:04
booklets or something that I've got here
2:06
where they all go together. And then you
2:09
could just use those to build up
2:11
whatever effect you want. Um, if you're
2:14
enjoying this video, please could you
2:16
give it a thumbs up so it spreads to
2:17
more people. I need to try and remember
2:19
to ask that in my videos. Um, but yeah,
2:23
as you can see, I'm just carrying on
2:24
with the rectangles. I'm back to using
2:27
my ruler, but it's all really simple and
2:30
straightforward. And I'm having them so
2:32
they overlap, but I'm not worried about
2:34
some of the white coming through at the
2:35
back. I think it all just adds to give
2:37
it a bit more detail, make it even
2:40
prettier. And then what I'm going to do
2:43
now is use this paper more than once and
2:46
that will bring it together even more.
2:48
So I'm going to add another bit of this
2:52
in that top right. I think we'll see how
2:56
it looks. What you will have noticed is
2:58
this is really organic. I'm just trying
3:00
them on, seeing where I like them, and
3:02
then sticking them in place. So it's
3:04
actually really relaxing to do. It's
3:09
And then if you want to, you can also
3:11
draw on it as I'm going to here. And I'm
3:14
simply going to do some nice hearts. And
3:16
I'm going to do them all over so it
3:17
brings it all together. You can do
3:19
shading, a bit of paint, whatever. It
3:21
just can bring it together if that's
3:23
what you like. And then it's simply a
3:25
case of adding a greeting. Now, I've got
3:28
lots of these greetings and you can get
3:31
them for free from my website. So, I'm
3:33
going to put a link in the description
3:35
below and one on the screen. They're for
3:38
all different occasions, not just for
3:39
your mom. Um, so yeah, please feel free
3:42
to go and get those and download them
3:44
for free. And you'll see I'm sticking
3:47
this on with the little sticky foam
3:49
pads. Just gives it a little bit of
3:52
depth. Makes a bit more interest on the
3:54
card. And I just like that. But if you
3:56
haven't got any, just glue it on with
3:57
your glue stick. It's absolutely fine.
4:00
And there we go. A really pretty card
4:02
that I know my mom will love to receive
4:04
in the post. So, good luck with your
