RCMP, OPP, Ottawa Police didn't need Emergencies Act. Why Trudeau still invoked it? During Question Period, Oct. 26, 2022, PM Justin Trudeau was asked to explain why he invoked the Emergencies Act against the recommendation of RCMP.
“At the Rouleau Commission, 3 different police forces confirmed that the Emergencies Act was not necessary to end the convoy occupation in Ottawa," said Bloc Québécois MP Rhéal Fortin . "The RCMP, OPP, and the Ottawa Police, they all said that they did not need the Emergencies Act.”
