Welcome to another episode of C Sharp Corner videos. My name is Mahes Chan
0:04
In this video I'm going to talk about the search feature on C Sharp Corner website
0:10
So you can search the entire website by using this search bar right here and all you have to do is enter a keyword
0:20
For example if I enter let's say Tree View and hit enter
0:26
I go to the search page, search results page where I can see all the search results
0:36
matching the tree view control. So I'm not sure how much you have used the search feature before but we have recently made
0:46
some changes to this page. As you can see from the top, let's start from the top is next to this
0:55
text box search text box there is a drop down option where you can see exact word or any word so if you have more than one words you searching for you can pick either exact word or any word Below that you see search results
1:12
In the search results, there is a sword by drop down here
1:15
where you can sort these results either latest first, oldest first, or most viewed
1:23
By default, we are displaying latest firsts, which means the newest article
1:29
will be displayed at the top. Now let's say if I change to most viewed article
1:36
and you can see the tree view control in C sharp article is most viewed
1:41
If you click on this you will go to the article article page, article data page where you can read it
1:48
Now let's just focus on left sidebar. In left sidebar we have added these three options for users
1:58
First one is kind. content filter and content filter what you can see is you can pick what do you really trying to search so you can search entire website from right here So let say you want to search for tutorials And just click on tutorial you will see all the
2:15
tutorials matching Tree View keyword. Now below that there's a complexity level which is a user level really. So let's say you
2:28
want to find out what are the advanced articles only. you click on advanced and you will see list of all advanced articles
2:38
Now as you can see below there there is a refined by author option
2:46
So let's remove this for a second. You will see all these search results and list of all the authors who have written articles
2:55
on that related to trivial. So let's say you like Scott. All you have to do is click on Scott
3:03
you will see all the articles written by Scott Let go back I want to go back to search again One more thing I want to explain here is so if you look at this one search result right
3:20
here it says directory picker in C sharp, there is no tree view in the title here
3:29
However, the result is still there. So when we search the entire website, keep in mind we have these tons of thousands of articles
3:37
on this website. We're searching on two things. First thing we search on the title. So if the title
3:46
of an article has tree view in it, you will see that here. But besides the title, if an article
3:54
also has any tag or keyword in it that has tree view, we will also display that here
4:00
So that's why you may see some of these results where they may not say that
4:07
tree view directly but trust me they are related to tree view hopefully you like
4:13
these new features until next time see you
