On the right side, you see what is Web 1.0
0:04
So Web 1.0 is when you used to sign in with your username and password, right
0:08
So this is back in the day when you would create accounts, let's say like MySpace or, you know, something older where you just have to create a username and password
0:20
Then we came to Web2. So Web2 is where you're signing in with single sign-ons like Google, Facebook, Twitter
0:26
And so these centralized platforms holds your single sign on data allowing you to get access to new platforms
0:35
Now with Web 3, now you're connecting to your digital wallet such as Jacks, such as Metamax
0:43
And you own those wallets in your own custody. Those are helped by you
0:48
So essentially, you control your own access to the whole internet. Now, what this does is it actually gives you the user more control over
0:56
over what you're giving access to these platforms to. And also gives you a unique angle
1:02
where you can also become an owner and collaborator in the project
1:07
So let me know if I'm going too fast here, Stephen, but I've got a lot of information here I wanted to share
1:12
but this is kind of the high level, what is Web 3 in a very simple to understand web graphic
1:21
Now, I want to talk about digital communities and ownerships. And most recently, you've probably heard of the
1:26
of an NFT. At its core, this is really what powers Web3. So Web3, in the same way that I
1:35
shared earlier, where you can log in with your own metamask, your own wallet, because you
1:41
own that wallet, you're not just signing into Facebook and having Facebook login for you
1:46
You own, you basically own that access. And so, let's say, digital items, like if everyone's
1:55
familiar for NFT, non-fundgible tokens, they can be assigned or given ownership to this digital
2:02
wallet, meaning you are the one that you hold ownership to this item. So in the case of NFTs
2:10
it could be something as simple as a JPEC. It could be as something as simple as, you know
2:15
Borde Ape Yacht Club or many of these very famous ones today. But what's underlining here is that
2:21
on the blockchain ledger, you are the owner. of this particular art piece
2:28
A lot of people say, hey, you can just copy and paste the JPEG, but at the end of the day
2:32
you are the only one that owns that. And there's a public ledger
2:36
which gives you full ownership and rights. So once I get that out of the way
2:41
you know, now you can have a better understanding of what went through it. And I'll kind of give some examples
2:46
why this unique asset class creates good opportunities for marketing. So I wanted to go into the fundamentals of how to market your Web3 project
3:00
So a lot of people ask me, in fact, a lot of projects and founders ask me, what is the fastest
3:06
way to get my Web3 startup to get my Web 3 project
3:11
You know, how do I market it? How do I get it in front of people? And I always tell project founders the same thing
3:19
Find existing communities. Never try to build from scratch because building, from scratch takes A, forever, and B, it's actually too slow
3:31
So in the world of crypto and Web3, things are moving at a lightning pace
3:35
So if you don't keep up, you know, chances are the industry may have pivoted again
3:41
and it's Web3 is now something else. So I always tell project founders, partner of existing communities, find where communities
3:50
of Web3 people already exist and reach out to them, work with
3:55
with them, partner with them, and share your project there. So don't start from scratch
4:00
I shared some examples here. This funny icon here, I don't know if you can see where
4:05
my mouse is, but this funny icon of a milk man with the Hawaiian shirt represents very popular
4:15
I think it's the number two largest crypto web three newsletter called the Milk Road
4:19
So this community already has, I believe, it's like 150,000 active Web3 enthusiasts
4:28
So tap into that community. Another example I want to share is Yield Guild Guild Games
4:32
So the one on the right. It's basically a Guild of gamers in the Web3 space
4:39
They have hundreds of thousands of people already there. If you're trying to launch a gaming project, reach out to Yield Guild Guild Games
4:46
Partner with them. They are basically the gatekeepers of large subsets of communities
4:53
So don't start from zero. Always try to find where the communities there already are
4:59
Number two. So in the space of Web 3, you have a different set of influencers and different set of spaces
5:07
So I shared some examples here, but you can see on the left is a gentleman
5:12
His name is Faroak. He's a very famous Web 3 influencer in the NFT space
5:17
he has a large follower account. I believe it's like 270,000 followers
5:25
Whalecoin Talk, the one in the middle, these are our Twitter communities
5:29
And on the far right, the Crypto Roundtable Show, this is hosted by Marr in the fall
5:34
But every time he hosts a Twitter space, he has about 50,000 people join
5:40
So if you have a Web3 project, go to where the Web3 people are looking at
5:45
and where they're hanging out. So I just gave some examples here, but this is what we specialize in
5:51
If you looking for help to find these influencers we actually publish lists on our website crowdcrate and you can find the top you know we have top India trader influencers
6:05
or we have the top, you know, it's like NFTR collectors. So we're published these lists freely so that people can use it as a reference
6:15
But if you're launching a Web3 project, always look at the Web3 focus influencer in spaces
6:21
because otherwise you may be speaking to the wrong crowd. Find your voice
6:27
I can't stress this enough. On the left, you can see one of the most famous female web three influencers
6:36
Her name is Crypto Wendy O. But she specializes in, you know, reviewing crypto projects
6:41
It could be trading projects. In the middle, you have Cryptos R.S
6:45
And on the right, you have Mr. Beast. So all these three represents different types of influence
6:51
It is important to find the voice that represents your project the best
6:57
So in some examples, Mr. Beast, the one on the right, worked with one of our clients, Star Atlas
7:04
which is a very, very popular, actually did very well. It was a space exploration web three game
7:13
So Mr. Beast was a perfect fit. On the left, you know, Wendy Oak does a lot of trading
7:20
So if you're familiar of Celsius Network, although the future of Celsius Network is now uncertain, but CryptoWendio was a very strong advocate for them
7:32
And you can see her reviews, her technology explainers really, really went far for that platform
7:38
But this is where I'm always sharing. Don't just assume that an influencer just because they have a lot of followers means it's a good fit for your project
7:45
You have to find the right type of voice that matches your project
7:50
If it's a gaming project, if it's a, you know, like a social platform, if it's a Bitcoin mining, whatever it may be, make sure you're finding not just the right influencer, but the influencer that represents the voice and the brand voice that you want to have
8:06
All right. I'm zooming through these concepts, but it's early morning where you are
8:10
I want to make sure whoever got up early to listen to my talk gets the most amount of value
8:17
Let's see. Oh, here's a good list. definitely take a screenshot, but these are the top web three publications in media
8:25
Coin Telegraph with the most followers. But you can see here a lot of these publications, I would say don't just approach them
8:35
you know, without an agency. Chances are agencies will have a discounted rates for most of these with they partner with them
8:42
And also they have access to, you know, it's not just a press release
8:47
They can also get features. So these are the top Web3 publications
8:51
Take a screenshot. These are the publications you want to make sure you get in front of
8:55
if you're going to be pushing any type of content out. Okay, so now I want to kind of switch gears
9:06
I know I'm about halfway through, but as far as marketing your Web3 project
9:11
I always turned a table around and I say, why are you a Web3 project
9:16
If you're trying to market something as unique as a Web3 project, you have to understand what Web3 projects provide to the community
9:26
It's not just another, you know, not just another social media app
9:31
It's not just, you know, Web3 is not just, you know, another banking system
9:36
Web3 provides you a unique way to tap into your users that has never been done before
9:44
Kind of like what I shared at the very beginning, it gives you access, and they have, you know, true ownership
9:50
It could be a token. It could be access to communities. And I'm going to go over some of the top use cases that you can build your marketing stories around
10:00
So I would break it down into these five here. And I'll give some examples to help illustrate it
10:12
Feel free to get some coffee. There's going to be some pretty good ideas and examples
10:17
So I'll go through these first five. So rewarding super fans. So leveraging IP through digital collectibles and memberships
10:26
I'll give a good example here. But basically, this is for brands that have a strong, you know
10:32
a strong user base and you can reward them with some sort of incentive, you know
10:38
like an IP, for example, like Marvel Studios. They have excellent IPs, you know, like
10:44
Iron Man. And so now you can give, I'll give an example right now, but I'll give more later
10:50
Imagine if you can have the digital rights to, of course, this is probably not going to be the case
10:56
but digital rights to Iron Man. And every time a movie that uses or game uses Iron Man character
11:02
in something else, because you are a partial owner of that IP, you can get income through that
11:09
income stream. So this is one unique example. Number two, building loyalty. I'll go through an
11:14
example there. Number three, virtual worlds in the metaverse, new experiences through existing and new
11:20
platforms. Number four, exclusive content. So now you can put content only available to actively
11:28
engage audiences. It's called token gating. Just think of like, let's say your favorite
11:34
well, I'll give an example later, but let's say of your favorite type of, um
11:39
I don't know, like a favorite restaurant. And only people that have this membership to this restaurant get access to the chef's
11:46
specialties or the chef recommendations right We actually working a few restaurant projects that is doing this Voting rights Sometimes because you have ownership into those projects now you can vote on new initiatives or let say new ideas that get rolled out at the project
12:05
You know, there are much more than this, but these are kind of the top five use cases that we've seen across our clients
12:11
So here's one example. So if you're familiar with these companies called Coca-Cola. So Coca-Cola, so Coca-Cola
12:18
a very well-known company. I'm sure everybody loves Coca-Cola. They love drinking Coca-Cola
12:25
They love collecting Coca-Cola products. So Coca-Cola actually release an NFT because they wanted to reward super fans
12:34
So these digital assets gave them access to, you know, different. Let me see if I can find them
12:40
My next slide here. But, yeah, so just a little bit about the company
12:44
This is, you know, they're very, very old historic brand. So they launched an NFT collectibles for charity
12:51
So it's this mystery box where you can get special access. It was a partnership between Coca-Cola and the Special Olympics
13:01
All the proceeds were actually donated to charity, but you basically get a few things that's unique to you
13:07
So A, you get a jacket, a Coca-Cola jacket that only you have that you can wear in the Metaverse, right
13:14
Coca-Cola friendship card, limitless programmability and shared economics. Of course, they didn't flushed it all out, but you know, you would be the owner of this card that nobody else has
13:25
So you can get access to, you know, concerts, physical goods, in-game assets
13:30
It can be a lot of things. But this is just one example of what Coca-Cola did
13:35
And it also had a nonprofit angle. So you can see here, it gives brands, existing brands, but new brands, unique ways
13:44
to spin the message. Now, I wanted to give another example here
13:49
So if everyone's familiar of a car company called Renault, it's more popular in Europe
13:55
but Renault is a very common automobile company. So they're launching, they're launching a new car called the Mobilized Dual
14:06
and this is actually one of CrowdCreats clients. And in the Web3 space
14:13
I mean, this is in, in the Metaverse. So they're building a showroom
14:17
We're helping them build a showroom where you can customize your car
14:21
You can test out the car. You can change the colors in the Metaverse
14:24
And you can experience it without actually having to go to the Paris Auto Show
14:30
Right. So this is a cool way that we're helping Renault give access to more people
14:36
But this is also a very unique angle. And I want to share what they did on their marketing side because this is a perfect example
14:43
of Web 3 project, a metaverse activation, finding unique ways to gamify or to market the whole concept
14:53
So basically the project launch, it's called dual custom. So any user can go and customize this car
15:01
You can put, you know, very unique colors. You can put one of them was you can put it like a Jurassic Park cover on the car
15:08
You can make it look like back to the future car. But basically what happens was there
15:13
There's a customization and there's a leaderboard. And whoever, so this is actually running live right now
15:19
If you go to our crowd rate Twitter, you can get access to it. But you basically customize your own car
15:26
You publish it to the leaderboard. You can see it in the metaverse and people can vote on your car
15:32
So you can say, you know, if Stephen here from C Sharp makes his own customized duel
15:40
he pushes it on the internet and people can vote on it. And the top, I believe it's like the top 10 who win the leaderboard, get a 3D printed version of their model sent to them
15:51
And you get a ledger crypto wallet sent to you. So these are kind of unique ways that you can activate, you know, users in a Web3 project
16:03
But of course, if you want to see the details of how it works, you can also, you can always go to CrowdCreats Twitter
16:09
And we're actually posting it there, but feel free to. you know, join entering into the Web3 Metaverse world
16:23
Here's another example. So you can turn user-generated content into social shares
16:28
So social media profiles can now be made into verifiable NFTs on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram
16:37
So now, you know, when people are going out, they're talking on their social media accounts
16:42
By them putting a profile picture of your project, it gives you visibility, but also lets them
16:49
brag about how they're being part of a project. So this goes into the whole ownership concept, where if you can get very famous people
16:58
or influential people to be a part of your project, they put it on their social media profile
17:03
They can only be the ones that put it in because if you look at the blockchain, they're the
17:07
only owners, they can be verified. and more and more of these platforms such as Instagram and Facebook are now able to verify
17:15
that your account actually holds that NFT. So you can see there are ways to do the marketing and platforms are also enabling this to happen
17:26
So this is all happening right now as we speak and it's truly the future
17:31
And here's another example. I know I'm going pretty fast, but I hope everyone's kind of picking up on some gems here
17:37
but Starbucks, I know this is a very popular brand. I'm sure a lot of people are very familiar
17:44
of Starbucks You can probably find one at a local corner But did you know Starbucks just launched a Web 3 loyalty rewards program Yeah it pretty surprising
17:56
It came out of nowhere. But it's interesting that a brand like Starbucks, which is a very Web 2 world, right
18:03
This is coffee, baristas. But now they have a Web 3 loyalty project or reward system where you can buy, you know
18:12
you can buy coffees. you get rewarded back in NFTs. You can use it to redeem rewards
18:20
You can, you know, it's basically getting Web 2 people into the Web 3 space
18:24
but in the back end, everything is a Web 3 component. So they're still building this out, but you can know, and interestingly
18:34
Polygon, who's also part of this C-sharp B-Crypt conference, is a part of how they're rolling it out
18:42
So they're using them as their layer one. So big shout out to the Polygon team
18:47
That's awesome. Another example is you can build loyalty, brand loyalty and engagement with social tokens
18:55
So you can give fans, experiences that you could never have before
18:59
For example, if you're a big fan of Real Madrid, if you own these tokens, like let's say if they come out with the NFT
19:10
they can say you have access to a meet and greet with some of those football stars
19:16
You can get access to some of the swag, get access to some of the jerseys that are a limited edition
19:22
And the only way to get access if you own those tokens, right? So this is another concept behind, you know, Web 3
19:29
You can make very unique types of engagement and loyalty programs that couldn't have been done before
19:36
because there's true ownership on these NFTs. or Web 3 components, right
19:44
All right, I'm running close to the end of my time here, but I want to go through all my examples
19:49
Marketing in the Metaverse. So if you're a Web3 project, Web3 people are visible
19:54
and they participate in other Web3 types of ecosystems. So one of them most famously is the Metaverse
20:02
So there are Metaverse is called like Sandbox, the Central Land. These are virtual worlds where people can
20:10
visit. A good example is, you know, Tommy Hillfigure, Skechers, Adidas, they all have a presence
20:17
in these Metaverse lands. And it's as simple as just purchasing land. And you can build it
20:22
to be basically like your billboard. So this is another example. A lot of projects are doing this
20:28
So if you go to Sandbox and you look at the map, many of the top crypto projects will have
20:33
land there. All right. So I'm going to zoom past this. I know we're going to
20:40
fast, but just another example, H&M, which is a very popular fashion, fast fashion company
20:45
launches a virtual reality shopping experience. So this is another example. They're bringing a lot of the real life experiences of shopping and into the digital space
20:57
I really want to highlight this particular example. So in the world of Web 3, because you have ownership, people are playing with the idea of
21:07
you owning an avatar, you owning. an avatar of the likeness of your face or whoever you create it
21:14
and you can use that across all the virtual worlds. Some people are even imagining if you can even put it into other video games, right
21:23
So, and you would own that asset, you know, individually. A good example is Ready Player and Me
21:28
Definitely take a look at that. So this is another example. One more to go
21:33
You can even host virtual concerts. So these are ways you can partner
21:38
if you have a Web 3 project, partner with ecosystems, partner with existing community members, partner with influencers
21:46
and you can make really unique type of, you know, experiences for people
21:51
A really good one is virtual concerts in a Metaverse. Most recently, Justin Bieber, John Legend
21:57
they have all launched their Metaverse concert. So you can kind of see the pluses and minuses of getting into the Web3 space
22:04
but you know if you ask me one of the big ways big benefits of being a Web3 company is just the way in which you can work with and you can
22:14
incentivize and you can give your users and fans ownership into what you're building
22:20
That's truly what's unique in the Web3 space. And I encourage everyone to get into this space because it's not just about marketing
22:29
It's about giving something to users that they could never have done it before and sharing that
22:35
as your marketing message. All right. So that wraps up my presentation
22:41
Thank you so much for having me on the stage. I hope you're having a wonderful morning at BeCrypt
22:49
And yeah, if anybody has any questions or how to reach me, you can find me at, you know, you can follow us on Twitter at CrowdCrate
22:57
And you can always message me at Ivan at CrowdCrate.us. I think I'm right on time here
23:05
but thank you everyone for listening, and I hope you enjoy the rest of your time at the conference
