Ready learn how to create a landing page for free using MailChimp
0:02
That's what we're going to walk through in today's video. MailChimp is one of the most popular email marketing software's out there and partly
0:08
to do with the amazing free plan. So you can use MailChimp for up to 2,000 contacts, you can create landing pages and even
0:14
your website with its free plan. Landing pages are really important as you look to grow your email list because the page
0:20
has just one single objective. Your website on the other hand has a menu across the top, your social media buttons
0:26
blog, About Us page, services, all these other things where someone could get a
0:29
lost when the objective that you have here is to collect someone's email. So a landing page has
0:35
one objective, no menu, no social media buttons, anything else. It's like, hey, give me your
0:39
email and maybe your first name in exchange for giving you something for free, some type of guide
0:44
masterclass, something like that. And you'll see your email list grow really, really quickly
0:48
So why don't we hop on the computer and I'll walk you through step by step how to create your landing page with MailChimp. Okay, so here's what it looks like when you log into your
0:55
MailChimp account. To create a landing page, click on Create, click on landing page
1:00
page, give it a name. So cool coffee landing page, and then click on begin. Okay, so now you're
1:08
going to see the different template. So the main purpose for landing pages kind of in general is lead
1:12
generation and growing your email list. And so you're going to see a lot of lead gen focused ones
1:17
here. So this one, this one down below, grow your email list, and over here there's two more. Also within
1:23
the landing pages with MailChimp, you can also accept payment. So here's a couple options along
1:29
the top here. But what we're going to do today is just get started with the simple template
1:34
And the thing is here, if you learn how to use any one of these, you can edit all their other
1:39
landing pages and basically their website, their emails are all kind of set up with the same idea
1:46
and functionality in mind. So you had these different blocks as you see me kind of highlighting stuff
1:52
as we go through. And so you can move the blocks around if you wanted to so I could drag this and put it
1:58
above if I wanted to, which would look kind of strange. So let's put it. Let's put that back
2:04
You have these images. You have kind of the footer down below. And so let's just go through now
2:10
and kind of edit each one. Maybe I don't want to have my logo here. I want to focus on whatever
2:14
it is that I'm giving away from my landing page. So I may kind of decide to delete this section right
2:19
here. And we're talking about coffee today. So let's say get your coffee, brewing
2:28
guide Let change this to like the most complete guide to learn how to brew different types of coffee Then down below what is this going to say So this is kind of a call to action usually to get someone to look down below and give their email address
2:43
So sign up to get the guide. Yeah, something like that. Sign up to get the guy
2:49
And then here for the actual form. So you're going to see along the side is where you're where you edit everything as you saw me changing the text
2:57
Some of the other things we're going to go through starting with this one. is some of the customizations available
3:02
And you have similar things for any of the different sections. So what we may want with this guide
3:08
is to know their first name, so we can address them by that in future emails
3:12
And then down below you see the text for the button. So we might say maybe in cap lock, sign up
3:19
And then if you wanted the confirmation message, you could just have this show up after someone signs up
3:24
Other options you have available is you can send someone to another landing page, or you could send them to a website
3:29
So we could maybe send them to the figco.com after they sign up
3:36
Okay, so that's the content piece of the form. Then you have the style
3:41
So the background right now is transparent. The font is Ario. Let's see what else we have
3:48
The text color, background, border, button style. So there's a whole bunch of things you can go through and customize
3:55
If we're going to be talking about coffee, I don't know if I like this cream color with kind of a brown
3:59
brown coffee beans, things like that. So maybe we'll stick with yellow
4:03
but something a little closer to maybe mustard. Then you have the settings tab where you can align
4:10
you know, the form with, and several other things here. But I think for now we're good with the form
4:14
save, and continue. So down below, we may want to change this to what's in the guide
4:22
And then to say, learn, let's not write everything in cap locks
4:28
Learn 20 different coffee brewing methods. And then so down to this next section
4:36
that has two columns. So as we go to add this one, what you're gonna see is it's split up in columns like this
4:42
So let's edit column number one to start out. And then to do that so we can replace the image
4:49
One other quick thing, so we got these pictures from unsplash. So to just show you what that is real quick
4:54
there's a free stock photo website, and you can see here there's
4:58
hundreds of coffee pictures and basically anything that you're looking for. We have a video on how to find great stock footage
5:05
And this is one of the websites There a bunch of other ones I link to that video up above right here But back to the normally scheduled program is back to coffee So what are we going to talk about today Maybe the first section we going to talk about
5:18
pour over coffee like it's showing here. And so we're going to insert that image like so
5:23
If for some reason this isn't in the right shape, I went through a test of this and this is a more
5:28
vertical image. What I could do here, though, is if I click on edit, so you can change the formatting
5:34
you can, you know, crop in and basically make some edits to this picture so that it fits on the landing page that you're using
5:41
But I think we're good for now. So we may say pour over and then delete the rest
5:51
And then so I'm doing it in section, so I don't have to go through and reformat it again. And so..
5:55
I'm not a super expert. Right? Pour over. I'm not a super expert on coffee
6:05
I had a couple of coffees today and thought it would be something for a fun topic for this video
6:11
So let's say the left column is good, the right column. So say then here column two, same thing, replace picture
6:21
Which one do we want to show now? So maybe we do..
6:26
So I don't usually drink milk with my cold brew, but maybe this is... the picture we use for Culterbury coffee
6:31
So if we click on insert, okay, so this isn't going to look the same as the picture next
6:36
to it because it's not square. So like I was saying before, we can edit this image
6:42
Then what we'll do is say okay, then click on square, and then maybe a little off center
6:52
maybe, something like that. And then save that. May it take a second to update
6:57
then we can start updating this section. So say cold brew is for the best coffees, grounds
7:09
I don't know if they're pitchers or canchainers, whatever it is you use to make cold brew
7:13
So here's all the things you need to make amazing cold brew. Okay, so down below here, one of the things that I don't recommend using on your landing
7:20
pages are our social media icons because the thing is you want people to sign up for your
7:24
email list and clicking on your Instagram, Twitter or Facebook is a. distraction if they do that and get lost there they're not going to come back and
7:31
give you their email so I would delete this from your landing page then down below
7:36
here so any of the sections you can see you can change the color of the background or you can add an image so maybe this section here I would leave as white and then there a lower section Obviously orange doesn really make sense for what we talking about here So maybe we want something more of like a coffee colored brown
7:54
or I have an image that I think would look good, which are these close up coffee beans
8:00
So something like that I think looks pretty solid as the footer of the landing page
8:06
So some of the other things you can go through and change that I didn't spend a lot of time on
8:10
is so you can go through and make a lot of edits to the fonts
8:14
They have a bunch of options available. So right here you can click on fonts
8:18
and see they have a ton different options. So let's change this to Lato, for example
8:23
Another kind of small touch, again, as I was saying, you can change images in the background
8:27
Maybe I want the coffee as a background here. But then what I'm gonna have to do
8:32
to make this actually look readable is to make all the text white
8:38
So pretty easy to do. just go and highlight everything, click on text, white
8:46
Same thing here. White text. Then the form would be the last piece to update similarly where we need to go to style
8:58
and then go to font aerial color up here to white. Okay, so I think we're pretty much set
9:06
We change the text here. You can see it much better. over top of the coffee beans
9:12
This section looks pretty good. The footer down below. So the next step is to say save and close
9:21
All right, we have the page title, the URL. The next thing you wanna think about is the audience
9:26
So it's saved to my Jeff Dalen audience. And then now what you'll wanna do is add a tag
9:31
So if you wanna watch our video that's coming out next week, I'll link to it up above right here as soon as it's ready
9:35
where we're gonna go through how to create automated sequences. And we're going to start the sequence with the tag
9:41
So what we would do here is we could say, Best Coffee Guide
9:46
And then as soon as someone signs up for this, this tag is added, and then an automated email sequence
9:50
is going to happen after that. Then click on save right here
9:55
And then that's all there is to it. Click on publish, and I'll show you how the live page will look
10:01
So it gives you the link right here. Click on it. Okay, so here we go. Landing page is all set up live
10:07
People can sign up, and you can grow your email list. If you're looking for additional help on your email list, we have a bunch of videos to help you with that
10:13
I'll link to those right here. If you want to check out our beginner tutorial for MailChimp, check out the video right here
10:19
Hope to see you in those and future videos. Bye-bye
