Hi everyone, welcome to Ketub blogging and in this video I will show you how you can disable
0:04
comments in your WordPress website. So as you can see, there is a lot of spam comment coming in your WordPress website and if you
0:11
don't want to display a comment section, then you can easily disable it for individual
0:17
post basis or you can disable it completely. So here I will discuss different ways to disable comments in WordPress
0:25
So the first method to disable comments is by doing individual blog post basis
0:31
So to disable comment you can click on edit here and here you will see a discussion tab in
0:39
the right section and you can simply click on allow comments and it will disable comments
0:44
for this blog post. And if you update it and let's click on view post here and if you scroll down the comment
0:52
section will go on and as you can see that it is saying that comments are closed
0:55
and if you want to disable comments for individual blog post and you can also do that
1:02
by clicking on the quick edit option and here you will see this option allow comments
1:07
so we click on here then it will allow the comments in this blog post so you can use the
1:13
quick action or you can directly click on edit the post and you can disable the comment
1:18
there and if you want to disable comments for multiple block post then you can use the bulk
1:22
action so what i can do is click on here So it will select all the blog post and here under the bulk action click on edit
1:31
Now let click on apply and here you will see an option like this So you can select all the blog post that you don want to show a comment section and then here you will see this option comments so you can simply click on do not allow
1:47
and if you hit the update button it will disable the comment section in all of the selected
1:53
block post so let's click an update here and as you can see that the comments is disabled
1:58
from all of the block post and you can also enable using the bulk action like this and here
2:05
here and let me just select allow and let's update it from here
2:11
And if you click on here it is see that the comments is now allowed
2:15
So in this way you can use the bulk action or you can disable per individual basis
2:20
And what if you don't want to show the comment section for future blog posts, then you can
2:24
also do that. So for this let's go to the settings and let's click on the discussion tab here
2:31
And here you will see the option allow people to submit comments on new posts
2:35
So if you uncheck this, it will disable the comment section in all of the future blog post
2:42
And you just need to simply save the settings. And whenever you publish a new blog post, it will disable the comment
2:49
So let me just add a new post here. So let me just add it like third post
2:57
And let me just publish this post here and let me just view this post
3:03
And as you can see that the comment section is going to from the new blog post. So in this way you can disable comments for an individual
3:11
blog post or you can disable comments using the bulk action or you can disable
3:15
comments for all of the future blog post So you can also do the same with your pages as well So let me just go to the dashboard and let go to the pages section here and you can select
3:27
all of the pages. Click on bulk edit and let's click on apply and here you can change the
3:33
comment to do not allow and let's click on update. So it will disable the comments in pages as
3:39
well or you can use a plugin for this. So let me just show you how you can use a plugin for
3:46
that so let's go to the plugin and let's click on add new but i recommend you to use the default
3:51
method provided by WordPress but still if you want to disable comments using a plugin
3:57
then you can simply search for a disable comment and here this is the plugin so let's
4:02
install this plugin here disable comments remove comments or stop spam so let's click and activate
4:10
here and let's click on settings here now here you will get more options
4:16
like whether you want to disable comments globally. So it will disable comment from everywhere like all of your blog post pages and everywhere
4:24
Or you can disable comments or enable comment for individual post type
4:28
So you can select this option post and it will enable the comments only on the post
4:35
And if you also select the pages or something like that. And you can also exclude disable comments setting based on user roles
4:43
So here you can select that, if you click on authors, if you select the contributors, then the authors
4:50
and contributors can comment on your blog post but no other than that you can post a comment on your blog post So if you are running a membership website then you can only allow comments for your members as well using this plugin And you can also disable the user avatar
5:09
So it is basically the comment icon or the person icon that shows here in the comments
5:17
This is the avatar. So you can disable that by enabling this option
5:22
And here you can also disable comments by XMLRPC and disable comments by disable comments
5:26
by Rest API. So this is basically a technology that uses to add comments externally like using a plugin
5:35
or using a third party server. So you can also disable that
5:39
Let's click on Save Changes here. All right. Let me just refresh this page
5:45
And you can see that the comment section is gone from this page using this plugin
5:50
So here you will get more options like you can delete comments
5:54
So if you click on here then it will delete all the comments. on your website and once you have deleted all the comments you can simply deactivate
6:02
this plugin like this or you can delete comments from individual posts or pages or
6:07
media or you can delete comments like this and here you can see multiple options
6:14
so come there if you have multiple comment type then it will show up here and you can delete
6:18
it here and you can also delete all the spam comment on your WordPress website using
6:23
this plugin so these are all the methods that you can use to disable
6:26
comments completely or per post basis in WordPress. So if you found this video helpful, then make sure to hit the like button and if you
6:36
have any doubt regarding this, then do let me know in the comment section
6:40
I will see you in the next one. Thank you
