Mobilizing Black Healthcare Professionals

One of the most important keys to addressing negative health outcomes that disproportionately impact Black people is the growth and advancement of more Black healthcare professionals who understand the needs, lifestyles, and cultures of Black communities. In 2019, Duclas Charles founded Black Health Connect with a mission “to create and curate a digital and physical hub for Black healthcare professionals.” Charles joins Beyond The Hype to talk about the goals and impact of Black Health Connect, the upcoming BHC Con 2025 in Washington, DC, and the importance of prioritizing Black representation in health and wellness professions.
