"Welcome to our daily encounter with the Word of God! Today, we contemplate a central moment of the Christian faith: the Ascension of the Lord and the sending forth of the mission. Today's readings—Acts of the Apostles (1:1-11), Ephesians (1:17-23), and the Gospel of Matthew (28:16-20)—lead us to understand that Christ, exalted at the right hand of the Father, does not abandon us, but sends us into the world with authority and promise. We are called to live with hope, firm in faith and committed to the mission of proclaiming the Gospel to all nations. Jesus ascends to heaven, but remains with us, guiding his Church and strengthening those who continue his work on earth. First Reading (Acts 1:1-11): In this beginning of the book of Acts of the Apostles, Saint Luke narrates the Ascension of Jesus into heaven. After instructing the disciples and promising the Holy Spirit, Christ is lifted up before them. The apostles, still full of doubts about the Kingdom, are invited to trust in God's timing and to assume the mission of being witnesses ""to the ends of the earth."" The presence of angels reminds us that Jesus will return, but that, until then, it is time to act, evangelize, and live the faith with courage. Second Reading (Ephesians 1:17-23): Saint Paul offers us a profound prayer, asking God to grant wisdom and revelation so that we may fully know Christ. He highlights the greatness of God's power manifested in Jesus, who was resurrected and placed above all authority. Christ is presented as the head of the Church, which is his body. This reading invites us to recognize the sovereignty of Christ and to live united to Him, trusting in the hope to which we have been called. Gospel (Matthew 28:16-20): In the Gospel, we find the missionary sending of the disciples. The resurrected Jesus approaches them and declares that he has received all authority in heaven and on earth. He sends them to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to live according to his commandments. The final promise — “I will be with you always” — is a source of comfort and strength. This passage reminds us that the Church's mission is universal and continuous, sustained by the living presence of Christ. These readings invite us to live with our eyes fixed on heaven, but with our feet firmly planted in the mission. We are called to proclaim the Gospel with courage, trusting that Christ reigns and remains with us. May we embrace this mission with faith, hope, and love, being living witnesses of God's presence in the world. 📖 Readings of the Day: First Reading: Acts 1:1-11 Second Reading: Ephesians 1:17-23 Gospel: Matthew 28:16-20 🌟 Related Hashtags:
