Walmart will pay $5.6 million to settle a lawsuit brought by four California counties alleging it overcharged customers and sold items with less weight than labeled, according to USA Today. Four California counties filed the suit, alleging it overcharged customers and sold items including produce, baked goods, and other prepared items. The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office said Walmart charged more than the lowest advertised prices and violated California’s False Advertising and Unfair Competition Laws. In 2012, Walmart paid $2.1 million for overcharging customers in violation of a 2008 court ruling.
