FAA Cuts O’Hare Flights
Apr 17, 2026
The FAA will cut 372 planned flights from summer schedules at Chicago O'Hare, a 12% reduction from airline proposals, citing safety and capacity concerns. O'Hare handles ~2,800 daily operations, and airlines had planned to raise peak activity to nearly 3,100. United had planned a 34%+ increase in daily departures while American targeted a 10% increase. Both airlines are reviewing the limits.
