A wall charger that can charge anything
0:02
Let's have a look. Dave Taylor here, and I'm looking at this
0:13
It's a wall charger. I know, not super exciting. But this one's actually pretty cool
0:18
So let's have a look. This is the GPel 61 watt USBC charger
0:24
And it has exactly one plug on the end of it, and that is a 61 watt USBC
0:30
connection, go figure, right? Comes with a really nice actually USBC to USBC cable that is a remarkable
0:37
52 inches long, plenty of length for anything you need because this not only charges things like
0:44
phones and tablets, but you can charge your laptop with it too. So it supports PD3.0, which is
0:51
power delivery system and QC3.0, which is quick charge. So it has all the latest modern technologies
0:58
on it and your input you can plug it in obviously it has a wall prongs that actually fold in or come back out and you can plug it into anything from a hundred to two hundred and forty volts 50 or 60 hertz so it is a pretty international sort of unit however obviously it only has US prongs So if you want to use it in other countries you want to actually check to see what
1:22
version you're getting. But in the unit, it has a safe circuitry inside. So it manages to make
1:30
sure you don't have any issues with excess current or overheating or overcharging. Cool. All of that
1:36
is all well and good. Right. What you want to know is how fast does it charge? So we
1:41
tried a bunch of different things so first off pixel 3xel this was glorious it actually said fast
1:48
charging you don't get that very often and it charged 70% in one hour 70% charge that is pretty sweet
1:56
now the iPhone 10s apparently was a little more sensitive it does not actually seem to work with
2:03
pd3.0 or qc3.0 so i only got a 40% charge in an hour which is still pretty darn good but where this really
2:11
got interesting was with the MacBook Pro. So the MacBook Pro when I was using it, itema
2:17
gave me 30% an hour charge. Now remember, this is just a wall charger, right? When I actually
2:23
closed it and let it just charge and not run any apps or anything then it got a 66 charge in a single hour That is pretty sweet Not only that but as you can see the Apple Mac OS system reported it as a 60 watt charger
2:39
so it's a real live, honest-to-goodness charger. Sometimes Apple looks at these third-party chargers and says
2:46
well, you know, you're not going to actually count. We're going to pretend you're not actually going to be able to charge the device
2:53
I've actually charged this computer with as low as 30-watt chargers, and it's worked fine, but Apple in their hardware configuration software will actually say
3:03
oh, no, that's not charging. I see it, it's 30 watts, but it's not charging
3:07
This, however, is 61 watts or 60 watts according to MacOS. Either way, this is actually really nice
3:15
And as you can see, it's light, it's small, it's very nicely designed
3:20
I have to say that the gray here is actually very attractive
3:24
I mean, it's a wall charger. a finite amount of attraction you can create on it
3:29
I guess they could have done like a little neon or some little light up, something or the other
3:34
It does have a little charge illuminator there, but that's pretty subtle, relatively speaking
3:39
So, only thing we're left to talk about is the price, but before we get to the price, can I ask
3:44
go ahead and click on that subscribe button I like when you subscribe it really great because we can stay in touch And do you use third chargers with your computers or tablets or phones or anything
3:56
And if so, let me know in the comments. What do you use and how does it work out for you
4:00
Because there are plenty of companies that say, oh, you have to use our charger and you can't use anything else
4:05
It's not true. All devices, it's just power coming in. They don't really have any ability to differentiate between them, right
4:12
So with that, this is the G-PEL. Let's actually pop the prongs out
4:18
This is the G-Pel, 61-watt USBC charger, and it comes with this very nice USBC cable, and it will cost you $2799 at Amazon.com
4:31
I say if you want to have a backup charger that is for all your devices and your laptop or your tablet, this is a pretty smart choice
4:39
And with that, I'll catch you in my next video
