This is the brand new Google Pixel 7 Pro
0:03
Let's see what's in the box. Dave Taylor here and I have the brand new Google Pixel 7 Pro
0:16
and it is a pretty darn sweet looking phone, at least from the picture on the box
0:21
So what I want to do is I want to unbox it and show you everything that comes with this
0:25
brand new seventh generation phone from Google. Now, I have had and enjoyed the entire pixel lineup
0:34
and I really like their phones. I feel like Google really, it took them a couple
0:38
of generations to sort of master the technologies, but they're pixel five, the pixel six
0:44
and now the pixel seven are really excellent choices for Android phones
0:49
If you're an Android phone lover, this might well be your new phone
0:54
So what I want to do is unboxing. Before we get there, a couple of basic specs
0:58
So there's two versions of the Pixel 7. There's the Pixel 7, which is a little smaller and a considerably lower price
1:06
And this is the Pixel 7 Pro. That's what I'm going to be talking about
1:10
It features a 6.7-inch L-T-P-O-O-L-E-D display. Even, I don't even know what all those acronyms are
1:19
but it's going to be a pretty sweet display running Q-HD Plus at 3120 by 1440 resolution
1:26
That's a lot of resolution for a screen. green that's only going to be about 6.7 inches across
1:33
Now, Corning Gorilla Victus glass, so it's the strongest and latest generation of protective
1:39
glass, so it's going to be tough and durable, which you really want
1:43
If you're spending $900 or $1,000 or more on your phone, you want it to last a while
1:50
Always on display. Google's had those in the pixel lineup for a while now
1:54
Comes with three different storage options, 128, 2507. or 512 gig of storage
2:02
and it's built around the Google Tensor G2 Titan M2 CPU. And again, there's so many acronyms
2:11
I'm not even sure what that means, but what it translates into is that Google, like Apple
2:16
is building its own CPUs now, and they're doing really nice work
2:20
They're making really fast processors that are specifically tuned and designed for their own devices
2:27
which means you're going to get the best. best possible performance. Now, one of the interesting things that Google says about the Pixel 7 Pro is that it includes
2:36
the built-in Google VPN. And then there's a footnote saying, not yet available
2:40
So at some point it will give you a virtual private network which will give you even more privacy Now that doesn really matter when you on a cellular network and of course it a 5G phone But when you on Wi VPN gives you significantly better privacy and it definitely something to check out
2:58
Now let me open it and then I'll talk about the different cameras. Now don't try opening
3:03
this at home. This is a professional unboxing tool. So we're going to cut the seals on this
3:09
and see what's in the box. And I really like that these boxes
3:13
are getting smaller and more modest. It makes it a lot easier to work with
3:18
So we open it up and first thing I see is a SIM card from AT&T
3:24
Thank you AT&T. They've loaned me this phone for this unboxing. So I really appreciate that from the team at AT&T
3:31
And it is a pretty classic sim that you just pop out and it will fit in the phone
3:38
Now it turns out that the phone's a dual sim phone. phone. So it has a nanosim, which, hmm, oh, I see, there's yet a smaller cutout in this. That's an
3:49
interesting design, because I was going to say, that is not a nanosim size. So, nanosim and
3:54
e-sim, so we'll get there in just a second. And let's see, when we pull the phone out
3:59
then the front screen is covered by a protective film, which we can pull off. And then there's
4:06
the back, and you can see one of the things that pixel design has done
4:11
done is they've been putting their cameras as a row on the top and this one's really nice
4:17
It's a very small outdent. So the profile of the phone is very nice. Now, let me give you a quick
4:24
tour of the ports on the different edges. On the bottom, you can see there's two speaker slots and
4:30
there's USBC for charging. It also supports Chi wireless charging. On the left is a slot for the
4:37
Microsim and not much else. On the top is not much else. And on the right is a power button and volume up and down
4:48
Most notably, of course, on the back are the cameras. And these are three different cameras. It is a 50 megapixel wide at F1.85 with an 82 degree field of view
5:01
A 48 megapixel telephoto camera that gives you 5x zoom at F3
5:07
3.5 with a remarkable 20% field of view. That's really small, so it's going to be doing a lot of zooming
5:15
And a 12 megapixel ultra wide F2.2 at 1226 degree field of view. Now for the front, there's going to be a
5:25
probably a hole punch but I going to go ahead and turn the phone on at which point you can see the little circle at the top And so that the front facing camera And that one features the 12 megapixel ultra F2 with 1226 degree field of view
5:42
So that's a pretty wide angle front. And it's pretty nice. Now, it also features fingerprint unlock and the fingerprint scanner is embedded in the screen
5:53
Wi-Fi 6E 5G support, Bluetooth 5.2. And then the only other thing we talk about is the battery
6:01
So let me tell you that and then we'll get back to the box. I haven't forgotten. We're unboxing this
6:06
So it's a 5,000 mill-amp hour battery and Google says it's well more than 24 hours of battery life on heavy use
6:14
It is Chi certified and it's a 30 watt fast charge. So you can get a 50% charge in 30 minutes if you're using that full high wattage charge
6:23
Now, all well and good. Welcome to my pixel. Let's see what else is in the box
6:28
So you can see that there's cables and an adapter and then there's some instructional material
6:36
So let's start at the top and see what paperwork is included. And it's a cute little, let's see
6:43
So we have a little tiny foldout that basically gives you URLs for help
6:50
And on the back there is a SIM removal tool, which will be very helpful when I go to put the AT&T SIM into the phone
6:57
And I will give you a full review with lots of demo video, lots of demo photos and stuff
7:04
So it's going to take me a couple days to get there. But definitely come back and subscribe and make sure you can come back and check out what I'm checking out with the phone when I have a little more time
7:14
Now, there's also a little tiny user's guide. And honestly, the type on these is so small that the only way I could possibly read it would be to take a photo of it and then zoom in on the photo
7:26
I think they do that just because the lawyers say they have to have that in the box
7:30
I'm not sure anyone's ever read it. If you've read these, then go ahead and leave a comment and tell me
7:35
because I'm just curious if anyone does so. Now, what else is in the box
7:39
Well, not a lot. There's a USBC to USBC charging cable, which you would expect since it's a USB charger
7:47
And one thing I really like is they have a USBA to USBC adapter
7:54
What's the purpose of that? Well, you can plug it into the bottom of the phone
7:59
And now if you have older peripherals or even an older charging system
8:03
that just uses the rectangular USB connector, you can use it with this phone
8:09
So it's nice to have that adapter. As we're getting further and further into the world of USBC, which is a superior connector
8:17
then I feel like this will eventually just vanish from the boxes And I guess most people probably don actually use it But it is nice that they include it And then otherwise that it That the whole box Now one of the things companies have been doing
8:31
is tucking things into the lid. So let's just make sure. No, there's nothing in the lid other than
8:37
an interesting little cutout, which I know you can't see, for extra space for the camera
8:43
because it's clearly designed to be this way. And then the box goes on top
8:50
with a little extra space for the camera. So they've thought that through pretty neatly
8:56
And that's about everything I have. That's the full unboxing you've seen
9:00
Everything that comes with the phone. Let me just give you just a couple more things
9:04
It is 6.4 by 3 inches by 3 tenths of an inch thick and 7.5 ounces
9:11
It's a smidge heavier than the recent Samsung Galaxy S23. But still, it's a light phone
9:18
And this is also the pro model. It's the higher, bigger screen and more advanced camera system and everything
9:25
The only other thing to talk about is the price. But before we get to the price, let me ask if you could subscribe to my channel
9:31
Really appreciate when people subscribe. Turn on notifications so you'll know when I post the full review of the Google Pixel 7 Pro
9:40
with all of my demos. But really just helpful. And if you found this unboxing helpful, go ahead and give me a like or a thumbs up
9:48
Appreciate that a lot too. Excellent. This is the Google Pixel 7 Pro Android smartphone comes in hazel, which is this color
9:58
I wasn't sure what hazel was either, or snow, which is white, or obsidian, which is black
10:03
They have fancy names for things. And it is 899 at Google or through AT&T, it's 939
10:12
Or at AT&T, you can also pick it up in payments of 26, 12 a month for 36 months
10:20
This phone came from AT&T, so I'm going to encourage you to check out the AT&T store for this
10:26
But if you want to go straight to Google, then you still have to figure out how to get it onto your carrier network
10:31
But that's something that you can probably manage. Either way, it is around $900 for this phone, and it looks like it's a beauty with a nice, big, bright screen
10:43
I need to go ahead and sign in and configure and get the SIM in and everything
10:47
So that's all I got for the unboxing, and I'll hope to see you. in my next video
