The Z4 is one of my favorite BMWs for several reasons. 1) As far as BMWs go, the Z4 is as reliable as they get. I have not had a single major issue with my Z4 and we have owned it for six years. Something else I really like about Z4 reliability is that the convertible top has yet to have a single problem. I have owned several other convertible BMWs and this is the only one not to have a serious problem. 2) The handling is absolutely superb. BMWs are known for their superior handling, and it's safe to say that the Z4 is one of the best in the bunch. 3) You can find lots of used Z4s in an affordable price range right now. These vehicles can be bought at a real bargain.

Hey, E36 Fanatic, Steven here. Today I'm going to be talking about how the BMW Z4 is a freaking awesome car and how if you're looking for a used VMW, you should strongly consider buying a Z4 if some of the things I'm going to talk about fit into your preferences
0:20
So what makes these BMW Z4 such an awesome car? Well, first off, you know, I'm a DIY guy. You know, I like doing all my own maintenance. So
0:30
We have a couple different cars here at the house, so I like cars that don't require a ton of maintenance
0:37
You know, I like to drive them around, maybe do some oil changes, maybe do some major repairs every now and then
0:43
But, you know, I don't like cars that are going to require a ton of work all the time
0:48
And I can safely say to you that the Z4 is a really good car in terms of load maintenance
0:56
We have owned this car now for, what is it, five, six years
0:59
now? Longer than that probably. Longer than five to six years we've had this car. And it now
1:06
has, it's not really up there, but it's past 100K. It's got about 117,000 miles on it. So I wouldn't
1:13
call it a really high mileage BMW, but it's getting up there. And so far, I don't think
1:18
we've had to take it and get a serious repair done that costs a few hundred dollars for several
1:23
years. It's been nothing but oil changes and tire changes for a very long time. And a break
1:30
like a pad replacement of course, something like that. So these cars are really low maintenance in terms of that
1:37
And then the next thing that I really like about these vehicles is that they just a lot of fun You know the handling is very good These are stiff cars They got really stiff suspensions and I really love that about these vehicles They a real joy to drive around town
1:52
Something else that is really cool about these cars is that, you know, these are two-seater
1:57
roadsters, convertibles. You don't expect them to have a lot of luggage space. You don't expect
2:03
to be able to carry much, much stuff in them. But man, these are you
2:07
These freaking trunks got plenty of space. I was really surprised when we bought this car
2:12
Another thing I really like about the Z4 is that these are just really, really nice cars
2:18
I mean, these are gorgeous BMWs. BMW really did well with the Z4
2:23
The look of the car, you know, I just put the top down here so you can see it like this
2:28
You know, these are nice looking cars. And they're a real joy to drive around
2:33
Like I said, the handling is great. little sports cars, so they're a great ride
2:39
There are a few downsides to these cars, and I'll get into those in just a second
2:43
but overall, you know, I really like the Z4 and what they've done with it
2:48
Now, just to give you some stats on what the Z-4s are, they're basically, you know
2:54
the BMWs two-seat sports cars. This one right here is a 2.5 liter
3:01
It's an in-line six-cylinder. They also make, made, or still, they still might make some inline four cylinder Z fours
3:10
So you got the option between the two. You know, I would definitely get, if you can, get the inline six
3:16
Something else I wanted to mention about the practicality of these vehicles is how inexpensive they are Now we got this car several years ago but I was just on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist surfing around for use Z4s about in the 2010 2012 2008 range
3:33
that kind of area and you can get a really good example for under 10,000 right now and I think for
3:41
these cars it's a real steel. So that's another nice thing about these cars is you're not going to
3:47
break your wallet trying to buy a used one. So as much as I really like these cars, I do have to
3:53
talk to you about a few of the downsides that I have seen with these vehicles. The number one really
3:59
is that they are super low to the ground. I mean, these are two Cedar Sports cars, so they're going to be
4:05
a load of the ground. If you've ever driven a regular three series, those are relatively low to the
4:10
ground. But these, whenever I drive this car around, you have to do the whole sideways over a bump
4:16
a speed bump or you're going to hit it easy. Anything in the road that's in the road you have to
4:22
dodge or it's going to hit the bottom of the vehicle. So I mean it's being low to the ground
4:29
isn't necessarily a bad thing. I mean there's a reason they do that you need it for sports vehicles
4:35
and such but it also has its down parts or its downside. The other downside of it is obviously it's a two-seater
4:43
convertible. This isn't a family car if you've got like you know a whole family with you five people or something like that obviously this is not
4:51
going to be a practical car this is a fun car to drive around when it's the summertime when it's the
4:57
summertime and then you stuff in your garage during winter you don want to be driving this thing around when it 20 30 degrees outside so that another thing about it from a practical standpoint is that these just these are very very fair weather vehicles But something outsets I noticed that I really like about the z4s and this is going back
5:17
to the maiden of stuff. So you know if you've seen my channel before or if you're a new person here
5:22
if you're new here you should subscribe. I make a lot of cool videos about BMWs, e36s, all kind of so stuff
5:28
If you are a current subscriber, then you've seen my BMW 36es
5:34
They're all convertibles. Well, those convertible tops, those automatic convertible tops, they pretty much all stop working
5:41
after about, you know, after a certain amount of miles, either the mechanism brakes, one
5:47
of the motors brakes, something working the top brakes. So this vehicle is pushing 16 years old
5:54
It's got well, it's got 116,000 miles on it. We have never had a problem with the convertible top
6:01
And obviously it's an automatic. So that's another good thing about these vehicles
6:05
that their tops usually last a good long time. Because topwork, I'll tell you, man, is very, very expensive
6:12
So you don't want an unreliable convertible. So to summarize, the BMW Z4 has a lot of good points about it
6:21
They're relatively inexpensive. They're really nice cars. The maintenance is low. And they're great to drive around
6:28
the city. It has a few downsides, but that's mainly just inherent in a sports car in the first place
6:35
If you're looking in the market for some sort of sports car, then I would say the Z4 is an excellent
6:40
choice, and I would certainly recommend it. I hope you enjoyed this video. If you did
