Hey this is E36 Fanatic Steven and today I'm removing a sunroof motor just right here. I

want to show you all how to do it. It's pretty pretty straightforward so first you start off

with this cover right here and you can see it on here it's got these two

tabs on either side of it which are actually covered by these little lamp

shades that are over it. Now what I did is I just took a really small screwdriver

and popped these things right out. They just pop in and out. See the little

plastic tabs they got. Just be gentle with it of course. And then once you do that you

take these tabs and you press them in Just press them in with a screwdriver and pull and this cover will come right out

So once you got that, you got access to your motor. You do have a lot of wires that you have to unplug

but they're pretty easy to unplug. Most of them you just pull right out

But once you're here, you have a couple different bolts. And let me see, the bigger one is a T25

Yep, T25. Okay, so when you're removing this, these three little bolts right here, these T20s

Don't touch those because those actually, they're not part of the actual removal of the motor

They actually hold the motor together. So if you pull those out, then your gears will start popping out

So don't touch those. Just once you've got these two bolts on either side, the T25's out, there's a 10mm bolt right here you remove, and then this pops right out
