So first off, you basically, when you're starting off, you got this cap here
0:12
and you got your Mercedes knob. So what you're going to do is you're just going to turn this bottom piece out, just turn it
0:21
and I'll come down, and then you take the knob and just turn it
0:26
Just turn it around and it pops right out. But this is basically a retaining cap that holds the knob in
0:35
So to be honest, this couldn't get really much easier. You would think there'd be some screws holding this or, you know, something that's actually holding this in
0:46
There's nothing really. You literally just pull it up. And it seems a little bit barbaric, but that's what does it
0:54
And then if you're wanting to remove this, you're going to remove this. you got all your relays and such that you need to pull out and that's what I'm about to do
1:07
So got these little relays off really easily. You just fiddle with them for a second and play with them and you'll get them off
1:15
And you can't actually remove this until you remove this trim piece because the two screws that are holding it in are actually underneath it
1:25
it. So basically it's going to be sitting, it's going to be sitting in there and you have two
1:32
Phillips head screws sitting there So once you get them out you just play with it for a minute and play with this door handle and pull until the whole thing comes out It really only got two screws holding it down
1:47
So at this point, if you want to continue on and you're removing something a little bit higher
1:52
like this trim piece or something, you can't actually remove this until, of course, you remove that
1:59
Because there's two screws here that are hidden by it. And one is right here
2:06
and then the other one is right here. Just two more Phillips head screws
2:12
So unfortunately with this car, if you're wanting to take out the AC buttons and everything
2:22
it's got this old school kind of thing where you stick a key or a card that you buy from the dealership
2:33
into this slot and this slot that comes out. out. Now if you don't want to buy a key from the dealership, which I'm cheap, so I don't want to do that
2:43
I took a nail clipper and the end of it, and I actually just stuck it in and pushed toward the center
2:54
and just took the buttons on each side and lightly pulled on it, and it actually came right out
3:01
Now, if you have a regular utility knife, like a Swiss Army knife or something, you can
3:10
do the same thing. Just be careful with it because it is somewhat of a sensitive part
3:19
And then this right here just pops right out
