Alright, this is a Mercedes Ben, C.L.K. 430, 2003 engine cover
0:15
I popped it off. The nice thing about these is there is no screws or anything that holds these down
0:25
You basically just pull up on the rear of it and up on the front
0:29
and it latches right out. Now the really cool thing about these is, or it's unique from a lot of other cars I've seen
0:37
it's not just an engine cover. If you flip it, now here it is flipped, you also got the air filter actually attached to it
0:45
So the air filter is actually part of the cover, which is pretty cool
0:51
Now, since it's some Mercedes-Benz though, it's over-engineered for about everything. You've got to actually clean these air filters, you actually have about 10 little bolts right here that hold down the filter
1:11
You have to remove all of these bolts just to get the filter off
1:19
And then once you do it, the other cool thing about these cars is these Mercedes-Benz you don't actually ever replace
1:27
the air filter like on normal cars. They're permanent air filters. The only thing you have
1:32
to do is every so thousand miles you go ahead and pull it out and clean it real well
1:41
I clean it with soap and water let it dry and then you have to re it basically So I going to go ahead and pull off the screws and pull this top off and show you the filter and everything
1:53
All right, so at this point I've got, I pulled the filter cap off and you can see the two filters right here
2:02
There's the second one. Now when you're looking at this filter, you only apply it to the top of it
2:07
You don't go, you don't apply it to the bottom. You only apply it to the top where the air is actually
2:13
hitting the filter and you want to get it to about it'll actually change the
2:19
color a bit you want to get it to about this color you don't want the oil you
2:24
don't want to spray too much where it's dripping into the intake you just want
2:29
to lightly kind of missed it make sure it doesn't drip everywhere then once
2:36
you've finished with that you just put the cover back on rebolt it and you're
2:41
going to use a zigzag To tighten these bolts, you're going to use a zigzag way to tighten it
2:47
You're not going to tighten one at a time you want to do them all diagonally as you're tightening them
2:53
You're going to use this right here. It's K&N air filter oil
2:58
You can get it from regular auto parts stores. It's good stuff
3:05
These air filters are supposed to be really high grade for performance cars only
3:10
Downgrade is they're real, you know, on my beamer, for instance, you can take off the air filter by just pulling it out of the box and there you go
3:20
With this, you've got to unbolt all these bolts and take off the air, the engine cover
3:26
But all in all, this is a pretty easy job and a great way to maintain your vehicle's performance
3:33
I hope this helped. Have a good one
