Hey, I'm Jocelyn and I am on a girls weekend in the Missouri wine country and
0:04
we're just having a ball together and I wanted to kind of give you guys an idea
0:09
about how to do that and make it work really well for everyone. So first I think
0:15
that you should choose really good friends. Choose people that you get along
0:19
with, that everybody kind of hangs out together and you mesh really well because
0:23
that makes for a really great weekend no matter how you're making it work
0:28
Second, and maybe this is the most important thing, is to relax
0:32
Leave the BS at home. Just, like, let go of the husband, the kids, the wife, whatever
0:38
Just focus on yourself and your friends and enjoying the time that you have together
0:44
There are wineries everywhere in America, right? They may not be the best wineries
0:48
This might not be Sonoma or the Russian River Valley or Napa or whatever
0:54
But there are wineries everywhere, and you can just relax. They make like just a great place to enjoy nature and have a little wine or even not
1:03
You've got snacks and things like that. But it's just a good place to be together and to hang out and to let the rest of the world go by
1:11
So don't worry about it being big and fancy. It doesn't have to be an immense trip
1:16
But it just has to be good people in a beautiful place
1:20
Something that I've learned about vineyards all over the country, actually all over the world
1:25
A lot of them kind of close early, like 6, 7 o'clock, something like that
1:30
So my girlfriends and I this weekend have decided to make like a whole big night of stuff
1:37
So we have games. We got Uno like all sorts of fun stuff to do We got great snacks We brought extra wine and charcuterie plates and like whatever So it not just about the winery It about the time you have together So we rented a
1:51
really beautiful Airbnb house and we've got a lot of space to spread out and just enjoy our time
1:57
together. So with those vineyards, prioritize them. Usually there's a whole bunch in like a small area
2:04
So pick the ones that fit like whether it's the varietals that they're growing or the time that
2:10
they close like you know the one that closes early go to that one first and the one that closes latest
2:15
go to that one last so you've got to kind of like prioritize things and that's going to be different
2:21
for everyone but it's a good idea to set that ahead of time so this kind of goes without saying
2:27
I think but you should definitely get a dd you always have a designated driver or you know what
2:34
Get an Uber, rent a limo, whatever. Just make sure that you've got somebody sober driving to and from and whatever
2:42
because often you're winily hopping and you don't want to do that intoxicated
2:46
My final tip is to kind of set the money stuff ahead of time
2:51
Money often comes between people and you don't want that to happen on any trip with friends
2:57
So set that ahead of time. If somebody is paying for the Airbnb, Venmo everybody ahead of time or, you know, like PayPal or whatever
3:06
Split things and kind of talk about that first because it makes it a lot easier to just let things, you know, follow as they are
3:15
So, yeah, those are my tips for wine weekends, whether it's girls and guys or guys or whatever
3:22
just have fun, enjoy yourselves, and enjoy the beautiful place, and obviously the wine too
