So we signed up for a food tour here in Savannah and here's how it went
0:11
So our first stop was 22 squared and we had shrimp and grits, which actually was really good
0:15
The spices they use with the shrimp on top makes a nice little sauce to go with the grits
0:19
Thumbs up, I would come back here to eat for their shrimp and grits. It was really good
0:23
So let's go to our next stop. One of the things the tour does give to you is they actually do do some like historic stuff too
0:28
I'll talk about some of the squares here. They'll talk about River Street. So kind of a nice little add-on, and it's not just food
0:34
So our second stop is at the Alita Hotel, and we're here at Rec. We have the, well, you can't see it at because I've eaten it all
0:39
Sheed crab soup. It was decent. There's a better place to get sheet-crab soup, though
0:43
If you're going to be here, Vicks on the River, if you want to be on River Street, I get their sheet-crab soup, but this is fine
0:48
So that's number two. So far, two tasty treats so far. Having drinks at the Red
0:53
How is their Bloody Mary? Excellent. It's actually Bloody Mary with Tequila
0:57
Nice. Stop number three, the Little Crown by Pie Society. Let's try some food in there
1:03
So having a sausage roll, which has got the legit flaky crust and sausage inside
1:10
It's pretty good. I would say it's still number one, it's the shrimp and grits. This is number two, then the street crab soup
1:15
Now we're off to spot number four. I hope it's the one I think it is
1:19
My favorite biscuit shop here in Savannah. So fingers crossed. Sadly, it's not my biscuit place
1:25
We're actually at the Savannah Taste Experience. That's who's actually put it on this tour. So we'll see what they have an offer in there
1:30
We look around the shop, of course, like any tour, you've got to go to the shop, right? So you have that
1:34
So this year, there's supposed to be some food afterwards. So we'll see what they have. Well, surprise, surprise. I did get a biscuit from rice biscuits
1:40
So, yeah, it's pimento cheese and fried green tomatoes. Very nice. This is my go-to breakfast place, just FYI
1:47
Full disclosure, I eat here all the time. So very nice to have that on the tour We need to have it inside They kind of waiting area in their space But yeah that was a nice one Very happy Oh for those who want to know how long do you actually walk on this tour Well we walked 1 miles I took about 4 steps on the tour Okay So it all pretty flat
2:06
I mean, it is Savannah, so there's the cobblestones and a little uneven pavement. But you can do this. There was a family that had a stroller. They had no problem. So there is that
2:15
So it is pretty accessible. So that's kind of helpful. But just giving the heads up, it is going to be about a little over a mile
2:20
a little under two miles over the three hour tour. So it is a three hour tour
2:24
Nice time, but just want to give you the heads up. Next up is meant to be mojito
2:28
Let's see what's inside. And now we're finishing up the Savannah Bee Company
2:39
with something sweet because we had all our savory stuff. Those empanados are pretty good
2:43
So just FY, if I want to grab some and go, good little place to grab some, just snack on when you drink with your buddies
2:48
Quick little thing. if you're for the other place. But let's go in here. So we finished off here at Savannah Bee Company
2:53
There was four different honeies you get to try. And then they had a Granny Smith apple
2:57
with honey and cheese on it. That was really good. And then they finished off with a cooking
3:02
for a nice sweet treat to finish off. Well, yeah, here's a nice little tour. You know, if you have a few hours to burn
3:07
when you're in Savannah, doing a food tour, it can always be a good time. And that's the thing. Anywhere you go in the country
3:12
anywhere around the world, you'll see lots of food tours. It's a really good afternoon activity
3:16
for you to enjoy, try different foods. It was cool about this one. It wasn't just like southern food
3:20
It was more of like an eclectic mix of foods from around. So that was kind of cool thing
3:24
But I think for me, my favorite was definitely, though, the shrimp and grids at 22, 22 squares
3:29
That was definitely my number one. My last place finisher would probably be red sheet crab soup
3:36
That would probably come in last. It was still okay, but honestly, Biggs in the River, way better sheet crab soup
3:42
So hope this helps you know if you want to take a tour, if you want. I'll have a link down below. We want to check it out
3:46
But we had a nice time, and we've got to meet some nice people along the way. Bye from here in Savannah
