The 149th Fighter Wing, Texas Air National Guard, recently celebrated 70 years of flying fighter aircraft. The 149th FW (then known as the 182nd Fighter Squadron) received federal recognition in 1947 and has always flown fighter aircraft throughout its 70-year history.
