Stromboli's NE crater with lava glow and spattering erupts
Since January 2019, Stromboli has been in an elevated state of activity since early January 2019, and there is plenty of evidence that magma is standing high inside its conduits. In this video, the mild, but almost continuous spattering from the newly built NE cone as well one of its explosions is shown as seen on the evening of 20 Jan 2019.
