VV5066 Two-headed lizard eats separately
Jan 14, 2026
On October 5, 2025, in Chengdu, located in southwestern China’s Sichuan Province, a video captured a rare two-headed bearded dragon at the busy Wangping Street night market. The reptile had two heads and four front legs but shared a single body, belly, and pair of hind legs. The owner held out insects, and each head grabbed its own snack with surprising coordination. When a third insect was offered, the quicker head snatched it instantly, leaving the slower one unfazed. Chinese netizens wondered whether the two heads ever fought over food, but the owner explained they did not -- it was simply their way of eating. The unusual reptile fascinated crowds at the market.
