I'm switching to the Huawei P30 Pro

Ahem, ahem, ahem

It's that time again. You know, it's, it never ends. It's a beautiful thing, it's technology, it's what we do, it's what's happening in the world

I've been on the Galaxy S10, you already know that. I'm still enjoying it, the SIM card still sits in there because I was waiting for the next device

In that video, I was like, maybe I should try out the S10e

because everyone's saying it's such a great budget, or it's a little easier on the budget

with most of what's good about the Galaxy S10. But then, of course, this guy came out

Huawei P30 Pro. Look at it's flashy. It's pretty. It's different. Just this periscope lens alone

is so different from what we've seen before. The camera layout, the camera setup. I have questions

about it myself. Which one is the champ now? Like we need to know. We need to get to the bottom of it

4200 milliamp hour battery inside of a form factor like that. The display, the cutout. Yes

it's in the center of the device compared to the hole punch. Kind of similar actually in size

So what's the difference in day to day use? Do you notice it? Of course also on the P30 Pro

you now have the ear piece baked into the glass itself The fingerprint scanner baked into the glass itself There you go that the P30 unlock Of course on the S10 it the ultrasonic

but still in display. It's no doubt that these two devices have each other

squarely in each other's crosshairs. These are competitive, not just from a spec standpoint

but also from a price standpoint. I think a lot of people that are in the market

for the P30 Pro have to really be thinking about the S10 or the S10 Plus

Now of course it's not all improvements, no headphone jack. They did put a headphone jack surprisingly on the standard P30 model

Some people said that Huawei ripped off this color a little bit

I think what Huawei's doing actually in the color gradients is fairly unique in the space

Like look at this gradient right here, you see? You've got the little like violet going on up to the cool blue almost to like the iceberg up top

and I think it's kind of how Huawei gets their foot in the door with new audiences

You put a picture of this thing on social media and Kirk will tell you, it's, people are interested

It's a unique, it's a different look which is what people want. Of course I be switching processors as well I be moving over to the Kirin chip Plenty of RAM plenty of storage One thing I noticing with the Pro it a lot of wobble You see that I just noticed that right now It a little bit of wobble Not an issue of course on the S10 There the displays at full brightness

I gotta say. I don't know, you tell me. Like, that display there, it's popping. It's popping off

Now, I am going to miss the One UI aspect. I got really used to that. I began to really appreciate that aspect

It's just a cleaner UI. I think Samsung has made some major improvements in this department

Of course, over on EMUI, you've got something. It's a bit polarizing

Some people are into it. Others feel like it's too much of a departure from stock Android

You can see I go into the settings menu. It's a bit more antiquated, the look

I will likely install a launcher, just like I've done over here, so I will customize

The number one consideration, the thing everyone cares about, everyone's asking about, is the camera

What compels people to upgrade to these very expensive flagships is camera performance

So as these things continue to improve and step up the mobile camera game, the computational photography

we going to have to use these things more extensively put them into different conditions to figure out which one should be crowned champ I think the P30 Pro has a good chance of being that camera

So because of that, I'm about to slip out the SIM card. It's kind of a sad day, I mean, I got no problems with this S10

Yes, it's kind of expensive. I'm kind of dreading just shifting over, because so few pain points for me with the S10

I'm trying to think right now, what were my pain points? What was my pain point with this? No, it has a headphone jack. This new one doesn't

No, battery's good. I didn't mind the camera. Fingerprint. I didn't like the fingerprint that much

The SIM card just went in, by the way. Boom. I would say my only pain point, actually, with the S10, was the fingerprint scanner

Ultrasonic. Every so often, it missed for me. And a lot of people had opinions on that

I got all kinds of emails from people like, you're doing it wrong, you're scanning your thumb wrong

here's the issue, and so on and so forth. I'm telling you, if you buy one of those, you just use it yourself

You're gonna see it's gonna miss every so often. In this case, I'm taking kind of a step back

in in-display fingerprint technology, going back to an optical scanner from the ultrasonic

Nonetheless, that's the test. The SIM card is in P30 Pro. It all starts now
