In this video we are going to discuss measures of variation range
0:06
So how to calculate the range? The range is the highest value minus the lowest value
0:13
The symbol capital R is used to denote the range. So range R is equal to highest value minus lowest value in the set of data
0:23
So let us consider this is one example. For brand A paint, these are the paints which
0:30
got consumed for this number of days. So the variation of paint in months to be calculated
0:37
And this is for brand B and you have found that the variation of paint in months has
0:42
been shown here. Now for this problem A, that means in case of brand A, when having this one for brand A
0:49
the range is what is the minimum one, that is 10, what is the maximum one, that is over 60
0:55
So the range will be 10 minus 60 minus 10 is equal to 50 months
0:59
But in case of brand B, the range is 45 minus 25, that is 20 months only
1:07
In this way, the range for this data set can easily be calculated
