Meet Award-Winning Arabians in Qatar

I'm learning about Qatar's horse culture at Al-Shikab's state-of-the-art equestrian center and stables in Doha

Mohamed El-Suadi manages the Equine Education Department. He's taking me on a royal tour

This is the royal statements. And is that barbel on the wall? Yes

These horses are not roughing it. I think they deserve this. We have a lot of four champions

We have a big history within 20 years. We hit the record on winning war champions

So this boy here is really special. He won a lot of war champions

And many people come overseas just to take a look or take a picture with him

He's really amazing, well-known. Maybe this line, you can see all these horses are brought by Marwan

And so well-groomed. My goodness. He's a piece of art. You are a piece of art

So he's top horse and showboat. Sure. One mission of El Shikab is to sustain Qatar history with Arabian horses from their time in the desert with Bedouin to their role in helping Qatar carve out its independence

Muhammad invites me to saddle up in the Riding Academy, something I can't refuse

I'm training for the next competition here. Probably getting in Muhammad's way, basically

I may not be joining his show jumping team, but I'm enjoying getting a feel for the local equestrian culture here in Qatar

Our grand, grandfather, they used to have horses at their home. We are doing our best

We need to follow up with education and keep our horses in the best condition

To help horses and riders do their best, El Chikab has an entire equine rehabilitation program

where horses swim, get in some gym time, and overall workouts to recover from muscle strains and other injuries

It's part of their mission to be aware. world-class equine facility and educational center, welcoming people from near and far who want to

learn about Qatar's Arabian legacy
