VENEZUELA EARTHQUAKE: Colombian Air Force Flies Emergency Medical Teams And Aid Supplies To Caracas
Jul 6, 2026
Colombia's National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD), in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the Colombian Aerospace Force, has initiated the second phase of its humanitarian response to Venezuela by deploying a specialized Emergency Medical Team (EMT) and a fully equipped field hospital to the earthquake-stricken nation. The medical facility, operated by 35 certified professionals from the San Rafael Hospital Foundation, is scheduled to remain stationary in Caracas for over two months with the operational capacity to treat up to 150 patients daily across emergency stabilization, pediatrics, and obstetrics units. The tactical air lift follows the devastating 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude doublet earthquakes that struck northwestern Venezuela on June 24, leaving 2,954 people dead, over 16,000 injured, and more than 10,700 citizens displaced in improvised camps. To reinforce Venezuela's severely strained municipal health infrastructure, the Colombian government has also transferred specialized logistics components, including 12 mobile hospital beds, 5,000 protective masks, and 1,000 body bags donated by the Office of the Attorney General for the dignified management of fatalities. #venezuela #colombia #venezuelaearthquake #breakingnews #humanitarianaid #emergencyresponse #sanrafael #timesnowworld In this Times Now World News report, we break down the this topic: Stay connected with Times Now World for real-time global news and analysis: Read full coverage: https://www.timesnownews.com/world Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/timesnow.world Follow us on X: https://x.com/TimesNow_World #timesnowworld #worldnews #breakingnews
