POLAND ARMS UKRAINE? Ukraine Offers 3,000 Drones for Polish MiG-29 Jets | Times Now World
Aug 14, 2026
Poland and Ukraine have made significant progress in negotiations that could see Warsaw transfer ageing Soviet-designed MiG-29 fighter jets to Kyiv within weeks in exchange for drones and Ukrainian military technology, Polish outlet Wirtualna Polska reported, citing sources in the Polish armed forces and Defence Ministry. Ukrainian defence company Fire Point has reportedly offered Poland 1,500 long-range drones, with another 1,500 proposed in the event of war, while Warsaw is seeking expertise on drone communications, control systems and battlefield operations. The negotiations had stalled earlier this year after Ukraine resisted sharing drone and counter-drone technologies, but dialogue resumed in late July after Kyiv submitted new proposals. Poland and Ukraine had agreed in 2024 to consider transferring at least 14 MiG-29s, although the final terms of the latest arrangement have not been formally announced.
