Situated in the temple city of Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, Meenakshi Amman Temple is a historic Hindu temple situated on the southern bank of the Vaigai River. It is devoted to Sundareswarar, a manifestation of Shiva, and her consort, Meenakshi, a form of Parvati.
