0:07
for many people it's always been said
0:09
that the kitchen has always been Where
0:11
The Heart of the home is we've seen it
0:13
on quilt and we've seen it on wall art
0:16
the kitchen is where the heart of the
0:17
home is it's where we gather for meals
0:20
we share laughter we bake things
0:22
together and sometimes this is where for
0:24
my family we have our most meaningful
0:27
conversations as also where we join
0:30
together for dinner to break bread
0:32
together and come together in prayer
0:34
whether it be praying over breakfast or
0:36
dinner praying before our home school
0:38
sessions it is one of the areas where we
0:41
have a chance to live out our faith
0:43
before our children and with our family
0:46
it's a space where we love where we care
0:48
and where hospitality is lived out as
0:51
I've grown in my journey as a mother and
0:54
a homemaker I've come to see the kitchen
0:56
as more than just a room this is my
0:59
Ministry
1:01
in 1 Peter 4: 9-10 we are reminded offer
1:07
Hospitality to one another without
1:08
grumbling each of you should use
1:10
whatever gift you have received to serve
1:13
others as faithful stewards of God's
1:15
grace and his various
1:17
forms that there is our calling as
1:21
Homemakers just one of many in which God
1:24
calls us to serve our
1:28
family but he doesn't just call us to
1:31
serve our family it's not enough to just
1:33
do it we must also do it from a Heart of
1:36
Love without complaining and without
1:39
grumbling this is something that I
1:42
struggle with and if this is something
1:44
that you do to don't be afraid to admit
1:47
it we are all human and we are all in
1:49
the flesh comment below if this is
1:51
something that you're working on right
1:52
alongside with me and if you are then
1:55
this is the perfect Vlog for you
2:00
there have been times where I've felt
2:02
overwhelmed in the kitchen times where
2:04
the dishes have piled up or a recipe did
2:07
not go as I planned or I was just
2:10
exhausted and tired and in those moments
2:13
I have began to learn that the best
2:15
thing to do is to just stop to pause and
2:18
to pray in that way I sometimes feel
2:20
immediate peace asking God to help me
2:23
see this work as an act of worship not
2:25
just a chore as you can see in this
2:27
video I don't exactly look like I'm
2:31
enjoying slicing and peeling a carrot
2:35
but there is so much to be seen here for
2:37
instance I'm having a conversation with
2:39
my husband in the midst of doing that to
2:41
be able to just spend time with my
2:43
husband in the kitchen while I am
2:46
preparing a meal for us is a blessing in
2:49
itself we also have food food that
2:52
although I have the resources to grow
2:53
that God has given me which I can be
2:55
thankful for someone else they took
2:58
their time out they labored so that we
3:00
can have this food to serve to our
3:07
[Music]
3:10
family I'm grateful that we have food to
3:13
prepare I'm grateful that God gave me
3:16
this role and saw that I was important
3:19
enough for it that I was able enough to
3:21
do it and he entrusted me with some of
3:24
his greatest gifts his own
3:27
children when I invite the Lord into my
3:29
kitchen Everything Changes suddenly
3:33
cooking isn't a CH it's a way to show
3:34
love washing dishes becomes a moment of
3:37
gratitude for the food that we've been
3:38
blessed with even meal prep begins to
3:40
feel more meaningful when I think about
3:42
how Jesus often shared meals with his
3:45
disciples using those moments to teach
3:47
connect and bless other people I strive
3:51
to be more like Jesus
3:59
I have also discovered the power of
4:01
inviting my family into the kitchen even
4:04
though sometimes it can feel chaotic my
4:06
son running around while I'm trying to
4:08
cook me tripping over him sometimes the
4:10
baby is kind of screaming in the middle
4:12
of me preparing him and my husband
4:14
talking to me sometimes it's not always
4:18
like the easiest thing to do because I'm
4:20
trying to focus on multiple things at
4:23
once but those things aren't going to be
4:25
around forever they are important
4:27
speaking with my spouse helps us to get
4:29
to know each other as we grow we learn
4:31
more and more about each other as the
4:33
years pass and it's important that we
4:36
just intentionally be present in those
4:42
[Music]
4:44
moments time to spend with loved ones
4:47
well that life here on Earth is a very
4:49
short so if you ask me which is more
4:52
important personally I would rather have
4:55
a conversation with my husband while
4:57
preparing a meal my child SC scaming in
5:00
the background and my kid running
5:02
through the kitchen then do all of that
5:04
in
5:09
solitude when we welcome others into our
5:12
home the kitchen becomes a place of
5:13
hospitality and Grace whether it's
5:15
sharing a warm meal with friends baking
5:18
for a neighbor the simple Act of serving
5:20
food can just point others to the love
5:22
of Christ this is also something that I
5:24
really want to get better at you see
5:27
there is so much more that we can do
5:29
with our kitchen we can invite our
5:31
extended family over here we can also
5:34
invite our neighbors over for a meal so
5:37
that we can spend time getting to know
5:38
the people that live right next door to
5:40
us this is something that I feel like
5:42
God has been calling me to do in my most
5:45
recent
5:47
fasting I decided to take 24 hours just
5:49
to spend with the Lord and cut out
5:51
distractions of course I was still a mom
5:53
and I attended to my family as well but
5:56
when I wasn't doing that I wasn't doing
5:58
any cleaning I wasn't on Facebook I
6:00
wasn't scrolling social media I wasn't
6:02
even making videos instead I was
6:04
spending that time with the Lord I spent
6:06
4 hours diving deep into his word I
6:08
spent 30 minute sessions of prayer which
6:11
I normally don't have the time for but
6:13
my husband was so gracious to take the
6:15
kids while working all of this so that I
6:17
can dive deeper into my relationship
6:19
with the Lord he revealed so many things
6:21
to me but one that he revealed is one of
6:23
his second greatest commands for us
6:25
Commandments for us which is to love thy
6:27
neighbor as ourselves so I want to use
6:30
my kitchen to do
6:35
that I was blessed with this kitchen I
6:38
was blessed to know how to prepare food
6:40
I was blessed with food to be able to
6:42
prepare and now I want to use that to
6:44
serve others my neighbors particularly

7:04
if you are feeling weary in your world
7:06
as a homemaker remember that even the
7:08
smallest tasks can glorify God when done
7:11
with the right
7:15
heart whatever you do work at it with
7:17
all your heart as working for the Lord
7:20
not for human Masters this is another
7:23
thing that God has commanded us
7:30
so remember we're not just doing this
7:32
for people we're also doing this for the
7:36
[Music]
7:39
Lord so the next time that you're in the
7:42
kitchen whether you're boiling pasta
7:44
scrubbing pots or sipping tea at the
7:45
table remember that this space is sacred
7:48
it's a place where God's love can be
7:49
poured out in the everyday moments
7:51
because the heart of biblical homemaking
7:53
isn't about perfection it's about using
7:55
what God has given us to serve and bless
7:58
those we love

8:18
it is my prayer that this video brings
8:21
you peace and motivation in homemaking
8:24
and motherhood but ultimately that it
8:27
points you back to the Lord
