Kidnapped By A COP: The Susana Morales Story
Sep 6, 2024
Susana Morales, a 16-year-old from Gwinnett County, Georgia, went missing on July 26, 2022. Her case quickly drew attention due to the slow and hesitant response from local law enforcement. Initially, the police were reluctant to initiate a full-scale search or issue an alert, citing reasons like the possibility of her leaving voluntarily. This inaction sparked frustration among her family, community members, and activists, who felt the case warranted immediate and comprehensive attention.
Despite public pressure and ongoing efforts by her loved ones and volunteers, the search was fraught with delays and challenges. The media spotlight kept the case in the public eye, but it also highlighted the gaps in the investigation process. Tragically, in February 2023, Susana’s body was discovered, adding further sorrow and prompting calls for a review of how the case was handled. Her story has since underscored the need for swift and effective responses to missing person cases and has led to renewed advocacy for law enforcement reform.
