So this is the entrance path to Tony Owl Treehouse
0:13
It is a little bit steep and I think if it was wet it might be a bit tricky but at the moment it's fine
0:20
This is the walkway onto the tree house. This is the walkway onto the tree house
0:50
It's absolutely gorgeous. It's a little picnic table and a chair there and there's the view
1:01
It is on a form. This used to be a sculptor park
1:06
You can see some sculptures that are left over in the distance
1:12
There's a little pond down there. There was an outdoor show. There's an outdoor shower as well as an indoor bathroom
1:25
This looks fun. The outdoor shower
1:37
It's got a nice rain, a shower on the top, real for a shower
1:44
And one you can take off. This is the door to go in so you can see there's two big windows with blames
2:02
The chest outside. I'm sure it's in this. Oh this for the barbecue there is some charcoal and some phyolators and matches in there
2:16
and fold of everything. So I'll just go in. So on this is really nice
2:37
So on this side we've got a little sofa to sit on
2:46
probably proper cowhide as well yeah there's a little stove gas log burner is what I'm trying to see in the
3:00
corner I think that's electric obviously it's all reclaimed wood and everything in here so this is
3:08
the kitchen area just back and see I've got a microwave I believe, there's the sink, some cupboards
3:20
I've got a fridge. Oh, we've got some complimentary wine. Nice. A nice pino grigio, nice and cold for what we're getting here
3:33
And some farm fresh milk untreated. I think this is a dairy farm, so we've just seen a herd of cows go up the path
3:43
I've got a packet of chunky chocolate cookies
4:02
I've got a little pod coffee machine with some cappuccino there A little sink
4:18
Got some interesting features in here. Cubboards, little pans and plates
4:28
More pans and balls. Some tea towels, washing things
4:40
cleaning stuff bags there's a first aid kit in there salt and pepper up here we've got some we've got some salt and pepper and some
4:56
more pods coffee cups tea bags coffee tea tea tea tea coffee tea
5:10
And on this side, this is absolutely gorgeous, this bed. This is the four poster handmade bed
5:21
I mean that is beautiful. That really is beautiful. The bedside tables, how cute are those
5:31
Like a tree trunk, put your books on. There's actually some books in there as well
5:35
Got some hoax. A knick-knack stand is what it looks. I think they're the bedside lights
5:43
Just see if they return on bedside lights. Not sure what they are. Hmm
5:54
There's a little bench at the end of the bed here. There's some nice red towels on
6:01
Look at the other side of the bed. Nice little rugged side
6:07
Look at this bedside table. That is just fab that. That is beautiful wood. There's another bedside light
6:19
A little cupboard. All the fuses and everything in there. You've got a little dressing table. The furniture is really unusual obviously because it's all handmade and used with reclaimed door. It's a
6:39
Very nice. Not sure about this stool mind. The stool to sit on. That doesn't look very comfortable
6:54
But I suppose you're not going to be sitting on it for long. Nice sort of ornamental piece of wood there with some shells in. TV There
7:07
Not that I think we'll be watching the tea very much A few more books
7:11
Nice mirror There is a dining table Inside as well As the little table outside
7:19
Again it's all handmade stuff with reclaimed wood I mean it's really
7:27
really beautiful in here Very very nice Nice rub on the floor
7:33
They are wooden floors obviously There the light here Look at that sink Metal legs metal top
7:44
and a nice, that looks like stone marble, stone sink. That's really lovely
7:53
There's another little light there. Above the sink
8:03
A little mirror there. Some more shelving with some little knickknacks on
8:10
I've got a radiator there. There is a door to close the bathroom bit off
8:18
I'll shut it again. Toilet roll and a roll. A nice big shower
8:28
Oh look at that rainfall head on that one. That's nice. And a handheld bit you can take off
8:37
Nice red bath mat. Really nice. This is so lovely, really lovely
8:46
Got some robes there on the door. Some nice blue waffle ropes
8:52
I don't think they're to keep. You can probably just have to give them back
8:56
Look at this as the door. On the door, it's a saw
9:00
How fun. fun. I take you out and show you a bit more of the outside. There is an outside
9:08
back as well which I think it'd be lovely on the night time. There's a swing chair there
9:14
Hopefully it'll um hopefully take our wheat. How well? Are we both getting in at there
9:22
I don't think we're both putting there. Orrin's getting all the bags in
9:28
Do you want to say hello? Good evening, afternoon, morning. And yeah, there was an outdoor bath here
9:41
So you can sit here on a night time with a nice glass of Prosecco
9:48
So I'll show you that later at night when I've filled it
9:52
Got a nice big barbecue there. I think you'll just to put your ropes out
9:59
Yeah, I think that's absolutely lovely. I'm really chuffed. I'm seeing another little tree house over there as well
10:18
But we're quite secluded. There's only the two. And I'm not sure if anybody's in that one
10:23
There was no one else in the car park. Yeah, looking forward to stay here
10:27
So this week we've come for a few. few days away, well, four nights to a tree house just outside Penrith. It's my birthday on the
10:37
21st and I thought of lots of different things. It is my 60th birthday and I know I've said that
10:42
quite a few times on videos but I think that's just because I kind of believe I'm 60. I think
10:47
I'm in my head I'm still 25. So I did want to do something different for my 60th birthday
10:54
and I thought of going to New York. I thought of going to Paris. I thought I've gone to London
10:59
and I was so sick of looking and everything was so expensive
11:03
that I just switched the computer on one day, looked at the internet and found this tree house
11:09
and I thought, yep, that is what I want to do for my 60th birthday, I want to stay in a tree house
11:15
Well, not actually up a tree but it is on a kind of a slope
11:20
where it drops away underneath where so it feels like it in the trees
11:25
So I'm just sitting on the balcony now It's our first night here and we didn't get here at about three o'clock
11:31
We've had our tea, just had a nice salad. I'm having a glass of their complimentary wine
11:37
I don't normally drink, but I thought I would because I'm on holiday. And I've just been reading my book
11:43
I'm reading, I just started the three dahlias by Katie Watson. I have to say I'm struggling to get into it
11:50
I haven't read very much of it. Maybe it's a couple of chapters, but I am finding a struggle to get into it
11:57
I think it's because it's not quite got into the story yet
12:02
It says one weekend convention, three very unconventional detectives. Three rival actresses team up to solve a murder at the stately home of Letters Davenport
12:14
The author whose sluthing creation of the 1930s, Daly Alively, had made each of them famous to a new generation
12:20
So that's why it's called the three Dalyas because they've all played the part of Dalyalive
12:27
So I'm hoping it gets a bit better. A guy in Waterstone is actually recommended to us, but so far I'm not very impressed
12:35
If anybody's read it? What do you think? Is it any good? Should I continue
12:40
So yeah, just sitting on the balcony. All I can hear is the birds
12:45
All I can see is trees and there's a little pond and I've seen a little duck swimming up it
12:51
And it's just really nice. It's really nice to be outside in the Peace and Quartz
12:56
in the peace and quiet, just having a very relaxing time. So we're popping into Penrith, we're only about 10 miles from Penrith, so we're going into Penrith tomorrow
13:07
So I'll take you with us and I'll show you a little bit of that. It was my intention to vlog walking around Penrith Fair Town, but it is absolutely chucking it down and I have no umbrella
13:21
So I may come back tomorrow and do some more. There's the clock tower in the middle of Penrith town centre
13:38
Save the clock tower! Really? Apparently there's a Penrith castle, I'm not sure if it's ruin is a full castle
13:50
We're warm enough to have a look. So there's the ruins of Penruth castle
14:10
So there's the ruins of Penruth castle
14:52
You can see the red tower behind us just
15:11
It always nice to see ruins of castles You know to see what you can imagine what they would be like when they were actually complete You have to excuse me here it been raining
15:57
Warren's discovered a selection of rooms in booths in Penrith
18:18
Just going for a quick walk around the grounds, the pond, the field, whatever it is that we can see from our balcony
18:30
It's been a really nice, relaxing couple of days here. I've still got another day left yet
18:37
I highly recommend the place. Although if you have no tolerance for the fragrance of nature, as this is a working form, you might not want to stay here
18:47
and if you know where that same comes from you get next to a point
18:52
so there is some sculptures down here around I'll just turn you around so you can see
18:59
I'm actually sure what that sculpture is there's another sculpture here
19:09
I'll try how well you can see that I'm not entirely certain what it's supposed to be
19:16
It might have been nice of there was some kind of guide to the sculptures that are on the form and exactly what they were supposed to be
19:26
It's very quiet around here, pull from the birds. There is a little, another, it's not a tree house, but there is like a little, it's called Jenny Wren's Nest, a cabin
19:38
It's kind of next to us, but it still secluded. They've got a little, they haven't got a
19:46
an outdoor shower or an outdoor bath. But they have got another little bit
19:51
where you cross a bridge and they've got like a hot tub, a wooden hot tub and a fire pit
19:59
I put a little bit you in here just so you can have a look
20:03
There was nobody in there yesterday so we walked around it. But as they're here to do
20:08
there are people in there today. I won't take you back to film
20:14
But yeah, Like I said, this is a dairy form And we have seen herds of
20:20
The cows Coming up and down the path Yeah, they were just outspreading
20:27
They were outspreading muck before up there Like I said If you have no tolerance for the fragrance of nature
20:38
This place isn't the place for you There was just some little ducks here
20:44
but the scarper had one were heard we have to be very quiet
20:49
did see on the website that you might see some otters but no sign of those
20:55
haven't seen any foxes seeing lots of little wrens looks a bit like
21:05
a creature from the black lagoon could live here Warren's just said
21:14
to go through this gate here and I can't actually see a pathway so I'm not
21:20
sure where he's taken us and I could end up in a ditch and I have shorts on so
21:26
if I get stung by any nettles there'll be trouble. Oh, what
21:44
to tell us there's nothing here. What you're saying me? Mm-hmm. How decadent is this lying in a bathtub outside on a balcony in a tree house house
22:50
Are we done there? Is the water on it? It nice and warm yes Funny bean out there I hope it doesn collapse off as I naked in the grass The tree house is very central for places like Penriss and Cusick and we in Pooley Bridge today
23:08
So I turn you around and show you the river I've just been in a poolie bridge for a couple of hours and there's about five pools and five cafes
24:12
So it's a nice place to stop for lunch and have a look at the river
24:17
We'll just stop for a cup of tea and it's called the cream and jam
24:22
Yes, I know, cars. But in a little cafe just on the river, granny, some things it was called
24:29
And we were sitting there, it was not a gust of wind. So it was a nice sunny day, so all the umbrellas were up over the tables outside
24:38
and all of a sudden this big gust of wind came around
24:42
there was dogs barking, there was children crying the umbras were taken off the
24:48
one of them actually flew out off of the river and there was ones falling down
24:54
Warren's convinced it was a ghost stage coach crossing the bridge is that what you think? That's a near to go
25:01
crossing the cause it was right next to Pooley Bridge which has been there for quite a long time
25:06
so he thinks it was a host but it was an entertaining cup of tea anyway
25:11
this is Lake Ullswater we were going to pay to park the car further up but it was seven pound so we didn't
25:36
There's the paddle Absolutely gorgeous here
26:10
We're now wishing would brought a picnic and a blanket to sit on. People out further along on canoes
26:24
This is just a lovely spot in the shade where you could sit
27:10
It's our last night in the tree house, going home tomorrow so we thought we'd have a barbecue tonight
27:31
So I've really enjoyed staying in the tree house. I'd highly recommend it if you want a nice piece
27:40
kind of back-to-nature type of break it is a really nice place to come there's a few
27:50
little things but they are only tiny things because I really do like place we have got
27:57
the barbecue on but it did need cleaning so I think they could have looked at that
28:03
and maybe cleaned it before we got here it could do with some shelves in the bathroom
28:08
There isn't any way to put toiletries in there. They have got like a little hanging thing in the shower
28:13
but just a couple of little shelves on the wall to put toiletries on
28:17
it would be really handy. They do have the little shelf unit and some court hangers to hang your clothes on
28:25
But there's definitely room they could put a small wardrobe on one wall
28:31
Because if you were staying here for a week, there's not a lot of place to put your clothes
28:36
They do have some drawers in the dressing table, but a little wardrobe would be really handy
28:41
But these are just little things. I'm being a little bit picky. There isn't an oven
28:46
There is a hob with two gas burners. There is no oven and no grill
28:53
So if you wanted to cook other than barbecue, there's not a lot of space to cook on
28:59
There's also not really any cupboards to put your food in. There is a fridge
29:05
The fridge is a decent size. It's got a little freezer attached to it. But if you were bringing things that went in the cupboard
29:11
there isn't a lot of cupboard space to put those in. But like I say, I'm being really picky
29:17
Apart from that, I really love the place. I highly recommend it
29:22
We've been here for, well, this will be our fourth night. And it was around about £700 for the four nights
29:30
Maybe a little bit on the expensive side, but it was a birthday thing
29:35
And I did want it to do. did want to do something different. So, yep, I highly recommend it
29:41
So that's all for the video. It's been, it might have been a little bit bit, a little bity
29:46
I kind of did a tour of the tree house and the decking and I've done some filming out in Penrith, a little bit of Pooley Bridge
29:53
a little bit of Ulliswater. The Lake District is a fantastic place to come if we've never been
29:59
Highly recommend that. Incidentally, the place we stopped off at at Ulliswater
30:05
where we found that little cold, If I'd known, I mean I should have known there were places like that there
30:11
But if I thought about it, we could have took some deck chairs or a picnic blanket and a little picnic with it
30:16
And it would have been absolutely fantastic sitting there for a couple of hours just reading the book
30:21
But we didn't so we didn't stay that long But if you're going to visit there take some deck chairs or a blanket and a little picnic
30:29
And you'll be set for a couple of hours really, really nice I hope you've enjoyed it
30:35
I'll see you again soon so bye for now
