So this week we've come for a few. few days away, well, four nights to a tree house just outside Penrith. It's my birthday on the

21st and I thought of lots of different things. It is my 60th birthday and I know I've said that

quite a few times on videos but I think that's just because I kind of believe I'm 60. I think

I'm in my head I'm still 25. So I did want to do something different for my 60th birthday

and I thought of going to New York. I thought of going to Paris. I thought I've gone to London

and I was so sick of looking and everything was so expensive

that I just switched the computer on one day, looked at the internet and found this tree house

and I thought, yep, that is what I want to do for my 60th birthday, I want to stay in a tree house

Well, not actually up a tree but it is on a kind of a slope

where it drops away underneath where so it feels like it in the trees

So I'm just sitting on the balcony now It's our first night here and we didn't get here at about three o'clock

We've had our tea, just had a nice salad. I'm having a glass of their complimentary wine

I don't normally drink, but I thought I would because I'm on holiday. And I've just been reading my book

I'm reading, I just started the three dahlias by Katie Watson. I have to say I'm struggling to get into it

I haven't read very much of it. Maybe it's a couple of chapters, but I am finding a struggle to get into it

So I turn you around and show you the river I've just been in a poolie bridge for a couple of hours and there's about five pools and five cafes

So it's a nice place to stop for lunch and have a look at the river

We'll just stop for a cup of tea and it's called the cream and jam

Yes, I know, cars. But in a little cafe just on the river, granny, some things it was called

And we were sitting there, it was not a gust of wind. So it was a nice sunny day, so all the umbrellas were up over the tables outside

and all of a sudden this big gust of wind came around

there was dogs barking, there was children crying the umbras were taken off the

one of them actually flew out off of the river and there was ones falling down

Warren's convinced it was a ghost stage coach crossing the bridge is that what you think? That's a near to go

crossing the cause it was right next to Pooley Bridge which has been there for quite a long time

so he thinks it was a host but it was an entertaining cup of tea anyway

this is Lake Ullswater we were going to pay to park the car further up but it was seven pound so we didn't

So I've really enjoyed staying in the tree house. I'd highly recommend it if you want a nice piece

kind of back-to-nature type of break it is a really nice place to come there's a few

little things but they are only tiny things because I really do like place we have got

the barbecue on but it did need cleaning so I think they could have looked at that

and maybe cleaned it before we got here it could do with some shelves in the bathroom

There isn't any way to put toiletries in there. They have got like a little hanging thing in the shower

but just a couple of little shelves on the wall to put toiletries on

it would be really handy. They do have the little shelf unit and some court hangers to hang your clothes on

But there's definitely room they could put a small wardrobe on one wall

Because if you were staying here for a week, there's not a lot of place to put your clothes

They do have some drawers in the dressing table, but a little wardrobe would be really handy

But these are just little things. I'm being a little bit picky. There isn't an oven

There is a hob with two gas burners. There is no oven and no grill

So if you wanted to cook other than barbecue, there's not a lot of space to cook on

There's also not really any cupboards to put your food in. There is a fridge

The fridge is a decent size. It's got a little freezer attached to it. But if you were bringing things that went in the cupboard

there isn't a lot of cupboard space to put those in. But like I say, I'm being really picky

Apart from that, I really love the place. I highly recommend it

We've been here for, well, this will be our fourth night. And it was around about £700 for the four nights

Maybe a little bit on the expensive side, but it was a birthday thing

And I did want it to do. did want to do something different. So, yep, I highly recommend it

But if I thought about it, we could have took some deck chairs or a picnic blanket and a little picnic with it

And it would have been absolutely fantastic sitting there for a couple of hours just reading the book

But we didn't so we didn't stay that long But if you're going to visit there take some deck chairs or a blanket and a little picnic
